Best holiday ever, fantastic top class apartment

VFI Tipperary
Review Submitted: August 3, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We stayed out in Vilamoura on the 9th to the 23rd of August. The weather was heavenly. Loads to do, went to zoo marine, where our 9 year old went swimming with the dolphins (expensive, but she adored the experience) The aqua park was also great, loads of rides and different types of pools for all ages - you could spend a few days there. The Apartment was really fantastic, 2 large bedrooms and a king size pull out bed in the lounge. The lounge area was huge and very tastefully decorated. There is sky tv, so all of the home comforts, minus the rain. The terrace overlooking the pool is very large and divided into two seperate areas, the larger of which is covered, providing shelter from the mid-day sun, the other part is an absolute sun trap. The pool was one of the nicest we had seen. You walk into it from both sides and the temperature of the water was beautiful. There is a jacuzzi at one end of the pool, which is lovely to sit in and watch the world go by. There is a baby pool at the opposite side of the pool surrounded by grass, where parents can relax and watch the children. The Irish Cabin at night time was very lively, with great bands and full of atmosphere. Vilamoura is an upmarket resort and you will not see one street trader trying to sell cheap watchs etc., This being said, there are some great happy hours to be got - the Matador Pub 7-8 all local drinks half price (great way to start the evening). The Beach if stunning, rolling on for miles and the water is crystal clear. The fish market is so worth a visit. The Marina with the yaughts and boats worth more that I could even imagine were amazing to look at and fantazise. We really loved the holiday and will definately be going back there, for sun, sea, sand and wine. If you do get a chance to stay in this top notch apartment - take the experience, because it is really super - piped music, plasma tv, electric blackout blinds, air conditioning, beautifully decorated, large patio's...... heaven, heaven, heaven..... Until next year - we will bring out own yaught. Thank you very much, james for the use of the apartment and to Andre who was there to meet and greet us. Bye x

Owner's Response: I am really thrilled and delighted with the reviews we have received so far regarding our apartment and complex. I try and provide the best service possible and as guests of ours are aware, no request is too big or too small. I am glad that the guests who have stayed in the apartment appreciate the beauty of the area and the high standard of the complex and I am really greatful for their kind words. Again, thank you and it was more than a pleasure having you as a guest in what we feel is a real jem in the middle of Vilamoura.

Firstly I would like to thank James and his lovely family for the use of your superb apartment.
This holiday was our fifth in Vilamoura in the last three years and by far our most enjoyable.
The apartment is beautifully appointed throughout and very spacious with its two large bedrooms and a large living room that open out on to a superb patio area that leads to the outstanding swimming pool and Jacuzzi.
It is also ideally located for all the regions superb golf courses and the marina with all its fabulous restaurants.
All in all it is a superb base for your holiday being only twenty minutes from Faro airport and with the EN125 running close by you will be able to explore the whole Algarve region easily.

Amazing 5 Star Apartment in beautiful Vilamoura

stanford Ireland
Review Submitted: February 4, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
Both myself and my partner stayed at this beautiful apartment from the 12th of January for one week. I could genuinely not believe the standard of the apartment and the complex. There was all the basic necessities ie:dishwasher, cooker, washing machine, microwave and then there were the extras. The entire apartment has piped music in every room (bathrooms included), blackout blinds, huge plasma tv with sky tv, dvd, cctv, intercom and a beautiful marble fireplace, which we lit on the evenings we did not go out - it was just heaven. There is a large veranda area at the front and pool side of the apartment - the latter leading directly out onto the pool. This is a ground floor apartment and the view out towards the pool is beautiful. The pool and garden area consists of decking, shubbery, grass area, Jacuzzi, large pool and baby pool and is immaculate. At night, spotlights light up the entire area and there is even underwater lighting in the pools. The walk into Vilamoura is about 25 minutes and the scenery is lovely. The taxi service is faultless, once phoned, they were outside the apartment within 10 minutes and they cost between 5 and 8 euro depending on the time of night or morning!!! in our case. The Irish Cabin Pub is hopping after 11pm and the bands are excellent. There are loads of bars, cafes, restaurants down on the Marina and it is a great place to relax and watch the world go by. We took a boat trip and it cost 15 euro each for 3 hours (wine included) it was good fun and a great way to see the algarve from the sea. Seemingly in summer they stop off at little beaches and rustle up a bbq etc. We found the Matador pub great for "happy hour" all local drinks were half price and then there was a "cocktail hour" again the same. The quality of the food in the restaurants was unreal and you could eat out for a couple with wine for 20 euro - unbelievable. The whole Marina area is beautiful and of course the yaughts or mini-hotels were stunning - you would really wonder who could afford such luxury. We had an amazing holiday and will definately be returning to this paradise. Before I go, a special thanks to Andre who was our "meet and greet" he gave us loads of little tips about where to eat, drink etc. and is a gentleman. If you get a chance to go to Vilamoura - DO (by the way it is seemingly famous for its golf - we dont play) and if you get a chance to stay in this wonderful apartment DO, it is really 5 star luxury.

Great apartment, poor location

Review Submitted: October 22, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
We rented the apartment at the end of October and I have to agree with everyone who made comments about the actual place that it is a very spacious and beautiful apartment, however I was very disappointed with it's location. I had been told that a car would not be necessary to stay here and Vilamoura was a 15 minute walk. This was not true. When we did walk, it took us 40 minutes and that was not at a leisurely pace. There were no pavements for the first half so pushing the pram of my 7 week old daughter was hazardous to say the least. We ended up spending an absolute fortune on taxis (around 300 euros) as we had to take 2 taxis (we were 4 adults and 1 car seat) every time we wanted to go out. The one time we tried to ask for a large 7 seater the cab never arrived and we ended up calling an hour later to try and get 2 seperate normal taxis. I was disappointed when James did not reply to my text when I told him our opinion as up until then he had been a great help.

Over all I cannot fault the apartment however I would advise anyone renting it to make sure they hire a car as it IS NOT within walking distance of the marina !!!

Beautiful apartment with all mod-cons.

Review Submitted: June 13, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2007
We booked the apartment in November 07 for a short break. We were very surprised at the sheer luxury of the apartment - much nicer than my own home! The kitchen was fitted out with brand new, top-of-the range equipment and the technology throughout the apartment was to a high standard i.e., broadband internet, TV, radio..etc.
The bedrooms were spacious and the living area has a fold out bed also. The master bedroom also opens out onto a private separate terrace.
The bathrooms were very clean and had luxury fittings including the radio piped into them!
The dining /living area was very comfortable and opened out onto the terrace which offered an extra dining space with barbeque area. This had a secure gate, so that children could not run out.
The apartment on whole was very clean, tastefully decorated and has a strong family and child friendly atmosphere that did not impact on people like us who had no children with us on this occasion.

The apartment complex itself is very secure and beautifully maintained throughout. The pool area is very clean and regularly maintained - we saw cleaners / maintenance staff around the complex every day even though it was out of season.
Getting into town is no hassle by car or taxi and the views around the complex and general area is breath-taking

I normally hate self-catering - but this was a real pleasure and did not feel like a chore - largely thanks to the dishwasher!!

I highly recommend this apartment - from the initial booking of the apartment to the end of the holiday was a real pleasure and I will be booking again.

Absolutely fabulous

We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful private complex in June of last year. We have two children Jane is a year old and dylan is 3. The apartment was absolutely fabulous. There was a large terrace overlooking the pool, which is accessed by a gate - it was so safe and secure for our two little tearaways, who had wonderful hours playing in the covered part of the terrace. There is a jacuzzi, a large swimming pool and a babies pool. By night we went down the Marina of Vilamoura, there is an array of restaurants to suit every taste and pocket from 5 star dining to the pizza hut. The atmosphere was so pleasant and friendly and staff in both bars and restaurants could not do enough for you. There are loads of sports, should you be that way inclined - para-sailing, wind-surfing and horse riding on the beach. We also sat in on a few nights with a good bottle of wine and video if you wish - there is also sky tv. The terrace is lit up at night-time and is stunning and peaceful. Soares is an off-licence which provides very good quality wine and spirits at very good prices. We are again staying in this apartment towards the end of June this year and I could not recommend it highly enough and have done so to both family and friends. Also, the fish and vegetable market in Quarteira is amazing and the fish are literally still kicking !!! Just before I go, we also saw our celebrity neighbour - house just across from the apartment - his name is Ricardo and he is the portugeuse goal keeper. He and his family were very nice and not a bit full of himself. Dylan even got a signed soccer strip. Overall, brilliant, and this is definately our bit of paradise under the sun. Again, James thank you for the use of your wonderful home and for the opportunity to stay again. Thank you.
