Nice apartment but a few recommendations ...

Firstly I would like to say that we received a very warm and courteous welcome from Natalie and Daniel, and they were extremely helpful when we had problems finding the apartment. The apartment itself was very clean and quite spacious in a very well maintained complex.
It is located in the El Duque "area" but it is a 10 minute walk downhill to the El Duque beach. As a family of four with two teenagers, we found the Fanabe beach to be more relaxed and fun, and this was more like 15 minutes walk away, lovely in the morning but a real uphill slog after a day on the beach and carrying water etc from the supermarket. Also, once you actually reach the gate of the apartment, you have another 4-5 minutes walk and two lift journeys to actually get to the apartment. So, we were a bit disappointed with that. The beautiful view from the balcony can only be seen by standing in the corner of the balcony. If you are seated you can only see the hotel windows across the walkway.
We also were disappointed with the way that the apartment was fitted out. The furniture is fine and the kitchen and utility areas are very well stocked eg, washing powder and dishwasher powder, but we did feel there was a lack of finishings - there was only one bedside lamp in the main bedroom, and no bedside drawers or lamps at all in the third bedroom. We also felt that the quality of the bedding was poor (especially the pillows) and didn't reflect the general standard of the apartment. Only providing two handtowels and four bath towels between four for a week was not enough. Also, there was seldom enough hot water for four showers after a day at the beach, so I'm not sure how 6 people would fare.
However, the utility area was a godsend and we used the washing machine every day!
We did try to use the pool on a couple of occasions but the area was so busy that we couldn't find any sunloungers, apparently this is very unusual and must have been because of Easter. The children did swim but found the level of chlorine too painful for their eyes, even with goggles.
So we tended to stay at Fanabe beach which has good facilities and is relatively clean.
Overall I would say that the complex itself is very upmarket and well maintained, and with a few "tweaks" like lamps and bedding, it would be more pleasing to stay in this particular apartment. I hope this doesn't sound too negative, as we did enjoy our stay, but we are unlikely to return.
Owner's Response: We are pleased that the warm welcome was appreciated, as we make a point at offering a personalized service. All clients have our phone contact, and any matter can be dealt with very easily with one phone call. In this particular case, our guest did not call us during their stay.
Terrazas del Duque 2, complex where the apartment is located, is very spread out, this is true. So there is some walking inside the building according to where the apartment is located. If the apartment is close to the main door, then you have to walk and take a lift to the swimming pool, if the apartment is by the swimming pool, then you have to walk and take a lift to the main door! But the complex is so luxurious and beautiful, with 2 main lifts, wide corridors, tasty decorations, that this is also a pleasure, it depends on your approach.
All the negative details mentioned for the apartment have been immediately corrected, and we thank this owner for their help:
1. As concerns the towels, there are additional ones in the drawers of the bathroom furniture; guests are welcome to use them.
2. We have put the boiler to its maximum position so as to have enough warm water
3. We have improved the beddings (we had bought this shape of pillows for some other clients who specifically asked for that - some guest like thick pillows, others normal size, some long ones, or square ones - it would be nice to know before the arrival)
4. We are adding some more lamps (a trip to the North where you have all the nice shops is planned for next week).
5. We informed the maintenance man about the chlorine problem for the eyes, and this is going to be checked by the specialists. No one else complained according to the maintenance man, however, this is an important issue that we shall follow carefully.
We would like to add that the apartment is located in the best complex of South Tenerife, and that the Duque area is considered as one of the best areas in the whole of Spain. The beach is at about a 10 minutes walk; There are no apartments closer, only hotels, and if a family wishes to be in an apartment rather than a hotel, the complex of Del Duque is the closest one to the Del Duque beach, and the Fanabe beach, and there are many nice shops, restaurants, etc.. in that area.
