Peace-- allmost own beach

Hershy United Kingdom
Review Submitted: May 15, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
It was glorious out there ,we had a fantastic time on what was almost our own beach, Sunshine at the beach from sunrise to mid afternoon (about 4pm in May) then it gets a bit shady, we then went (by the good number 4 bus) to the other side of the rock, for a few more hours of sunshine and apes...
Excellent flat, was clean and well prepared, with whatever you may need on holiday, to hand, we enjoyed a very relaxing peaceful holiday away, its very good place for people looking for a quite, relaxing, sunny holiday
Owner's Response: This was a very last minute holiday for you but it worked out brilliantly. The weather in Gibraltar was simply wonderful last week and I am so pleased you and your wife enjoyed everything. Thank you for your comments, best wishes, Jackie

Beautiful views and everything you need!

We stayed in this apartment in mid September for a week and had a great time! The apartment was very clean and modern with good air con and we really felt at home for a week. In fact I think it was the most relaxing holiday we've ever been on! Spent alot of time enjoying the views and making the most of a virtually private beach. Neighbours were friendly too!

We found Both Worlds a quiet retreat from the busy town, which is easily accessible on the No.4 bus route. Catalan Bay is also a lovely place, just a short walk down the road. We spent many evenings with a glass of wine watching the sea.

We had everything we needed in the apartment - even a pair of binoculars to look at the strange tankers on the horizon and a cheeky ape sitting on a roof. Morrisons was easy to get to on the bus, so we actually ate in most nights making full use of the kitchen. On the last night we went to La Mamela, the seafood restaurant at Catalan Bay.

We were lucky to see the Red Arrows practicing for their show on the last day. They flew right past the apartment quite unexpectedly. Brilliant!

All in all we would definitely recommend this apartment and will be booking in again when we next visit Gibraltar. Thanks Jackie, it was lovely!

NO BETTER PLACE TO GO, HOME FROM HOME

Review Submitted: July 10, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
The apartment has everything possible, beach, views, security and on main bus route to shops in Gibraltar town.
Sitting with a glass of wine in day or evening time on the balcony over looking the beach and sea, there is no better way of chilling out.
Our complements to the owners, we are already booked for 2010.

my husband and i have just returned from a weeks holiday at both worlds, we had an amazing time ,we found the apartment to be of an excellent standard with every room being spotless and highly equipt with everything you could possibly want, it certainly had the home from home feeling , and that made it a pleasure staying there ,the closeness to the beach was great and the weather was wall to wall sunshine , the gibraltarian people are amongst the friendliest we have met and we certainly hope to return again next year :-)

The Very Best of Both Worlds

DolphinGirl Gloucestershire, UK
Review Submitted: June 28, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We had a great time. We took the buses daily around Gib(all day ticket £1.50 for adults) . The apartment was so tranquil we spent most afternoons and evenings there. I went snorkling with the small fish shoals every afternoon and paddling every morning. The beach door lock does work, you just need the patience of a saint. We saw dolphins passing by, 3 cormorants fishing together and a family of Rock apes came to visit us while we were waiting at the bus stop (if you ignore them they wonder off with no trouble). The ships anchored at sea became part of our everyday lives especially when they were all lit up at night. To hear the waves and smell the sea without being on a ship, I think is definitely the Best of Both Worlds.
Some advice: This June the sea was quite cold, I took a shortie wetsuit (in one of those space bags), which allowed me to stay in the water longer I used it everyday. Big suitcases can be a problem with the stairs, mainly because the weather was hot when we were there, so it was hard work, we will scale down next time we visit. The washing machine in the apartment was excellent. Everything about the apartment was well thought out and easy to use. The sofa bed in the lounge (which has wooden slats) was very comfortable and simple to use.

Thanks Jackie, for another wonderful place to stay in Gib.

Haven of peace

Review Submitted: May 29, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
I was visiting Gibraltar and had nowhere to stay.(Hotels for singles being very expensive!)
Luckily, at the eleventh hour I found this apartment on the web for the week I needed it.
The apartment is clean, bright and sunny with all the equipment you could need.
I loved the idea of finding tea and coffee and other items in the cupboard and then leaving any I had left so there was something for the next visitor.
I met the cleaner too - a delightful lady.
There were even DVDs and games to play - if you ever got tired of simply enjoying the ever-changing views.
It was wonderful being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves.
Even though I had a fabulous week weather-wise - there was a wonderful lightning display across the sea towards Africa on the Friday evening.
I really enjoyed my week in Both Worlds - a quiet, peaceful haven within easy reach of all the action in and around the rock.
There is a market in Spain on Wednesday mornings - just walk across the border, turn right, go towards the Med until you reach a roundabout and the market begins on your left. (Don't forget your passport and some euros!)
Thank you - I had a lovely time here.
Owner's Response: Thank you Jacky, I was so pleased I was able to help and that you enjoyed your week seeing family. Coffee next time we are both in Gib sounds a lovely idea. best wishes,
Jackie

A Loverly Place To Stay

Review Submitted: May 3, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
This was a very nice modern apartment in a quiet area of Gibraltar and what seemed like at times, its own beach. In the morning you get the sun rising up from the east mediterranean and the windows to the apartment face this way. It has two security doors at road and beach access for added reassurance.

There is a bus-stop right outside Both Worlds which is great and very cheap, but it does stop at 9pm in the evening which can be a bit frustrating getting back to sandy bay later at night. There are taxi's avaliale also.

The security gate to the beach is hard to open but with a bit of patience it dose open. I would advise against using the hoover though for the apartment as it dose seem like it might catch fire (slightly exaggerated but use a brush instead).

I would undoubtedly recommend this aprtment to other people.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments - I am very impressed that you even thought of hoovering!! It really is only for the cleaner but it is being checked as we speak and a new one will be bought if there is a problem - wouldn't like to lose the cleaner! Again many thanks, constructive criticism is always useful. best wishes, Jackie

Fantastic views

Bramblecat Gibraltar
Review Submitted: October 7, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
What a beautiful and peaceful apartment, with stunning views and very friendly neighbours!
We stayed here for a week and loved it. It's a little further out than most places, but worth it and the bus stops outside the door.
The property was immaculate and there were plenty of fresh towels, bedding etc.
I am sure they will stay there again.
The only thing I would say is that there is no lift and lots of stairs, not a problem for us, but could be for others.

August Family Holiday

Paddington Bear Greater London
Review Submitted: August 31, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
A clean, well equipped apartment with lovely sea views. Situated by a sandy beach well away from town centre. An excellent (and cheap!) bus service stops right outside which takes you pretty much where ever you need to go.
The beach was very clean and even had a life guard which is great for piece of mind for families with young children.

The apartment had everything you could want. The kitchen, tho on the small side, had an oven, hob, microwave and a washing machine so great if you want to cook a "proper" meal.
A good size TV with Sky and a DVD player.
A real home from home.
The owner was extremely helpful and answered all questions (even the silly ones!) quickly and politely.

Would definitely recommend and use again
Owner's Response: As someone who hadn't experienced a privately owned holiday apartment before I thought all your questions were very sensible and as I said in my email on your return 'you really were the sort of guest I love having'. I am so pleased you had such a good time. best wishes, Jackie
