A perfect holiday at Marina Park

theTs Buckinghamshire
Review Submitted: August 23, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
My family and I have just returned from a fabulous 2 week holiday at this apartment and would thoroughly recommend it. The apartment was quiet, spotlessly clean, modern, very spacious and well equipped. It has a huge double sized patio/balcony area with wooden table and chairs and 2 sunbeds. Although the view of the pool is a little restricted by the roof of the poolside cafe, it is enough to give a focal point along with the wonderful views of the landscape. Towels and bed linens were changed halfway through the 2 week holiday and the apartment cleaned thoroughly. Mod cons such as dishwasher, washing machine and air con were appreciated.

Apart from the pool area being very busy (peak season in Aug), the complex itself was very peaceful and quiet. It is close to the marina area which offers a good selection of bars and restaurants - especially if you only want a 10 minute walk from the apartment (the walk is fine but flat shoes are a must, ladies - leave the heels at home!)

There is also an abundance of bars, restaurants etc in Lagos Town (20 mins walk max) - you will find your own favourites but we particularly fell in love with O Cavaleiro which although offers fabulous pizza and pasta also offers dishes with clams, piri piri, sardines, seafood, etc. It is situated on the corner diagionally across from the green tiled building in the main square (where the memorial is ) and there is always lots of atmosphere if you sit outside to eat. We also liked Calypso Bar for cocktails and perhaps a little karaoke (if you are in a lively mood) - to sing or just listen to other braver souls!

You dont really need a car other than it helps with the supermarket trips - we hired for 5 days and did trips out to Luz, Sagres, Cape St Vincent,Salema, etc but Lagos is probably by far our favourite spot in the Algarve and we were always glad to come back after trips out.

Meia Praia beach is walkable from the marina but we preferred travelling a bit further to the far end of this huge stretch of stunning sandy beach as it was quieter. We had such a wonderful holiday, we did not want to leave and are already looking at booking again for 2010....

Lovely apartment in Marina Park, Lagos

Review Submitted: October 14, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We spent a week here in early September 2009 and would just like to say what a wonderful time we had. My three "kids", 18, 16 and 10 all enjoyed the pool, tennis courts and the sunshine! The balcony is great for early morning sunbathing and breakfast and the rest of the apartment is clean with all mod cons. Unfortunately the sofa bed is not particularly comfortable but we managed for a week. Lagos is my favourite town in the Algarve - the beach is quiet at the far end and there are so many bars and restaurants you are spoilt for choice. The centre is just a short walk via the Marina. I would recommend this apartment to anyone.

I recently stayed here for a week with my husband and two young children and had a throughly great time.We were met at the appartment as arranged to find very clean and comfortable accomodation with lovely views and in close proximity to the pool which the children loved. It was our second stay at this complex and we would visit again.
I would recommend this particular appartment to anyone.

Excellent Apartment

Ana and family Porto, Portugal
Review Submitted: September 8, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I was here on holidays with my family and we all were happy to realize the apartment was exactly as described. We were welcomed by Richard Moody who was very nice and showed us around. The property was super clean and well-maintained, we liked the modern decoration and the terrace which has a wonderful view. The a/c is also a plus since it can get really hot in the summertime.
The pool area can get a bit crowded but we spent most of our time enjoying Lagos' beaches so this wasn´t really a problem.
We used the tennis court quite a lot, especially in the evening, but it needs to be reserved in the reception office.

The location is great (even having to walk up the hill) because it is in walking distance to the city centre and the marina area but still enough away so that one can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside.
It is perfect for one can have both the quietness for a relaxed holiday and the the feel of Lagos bars and nightlife.

Having a car is definetly recommended so one can explore the region of Lagos (and the Algarve) that has amazing beaches, landscapes and scenarios.

One thing that really made us choose this apartment was the sympathy of the owners who were always very helpful and very quick to answer e-mails and any questions we had, we saw immediatly that these were honest and serious people.

We had a really wonderful time in our holiday at Marina Park, everything was perfect. We will definitly keep an eye in this apartment for holidays to come!

Lagos - Marina Park

Just returned from our two week holiday at Marina Park, Lagos.
Apartment was in an ideal location, very spacious, clean and well equipped.
Marina Park is an ideal base for a holiday in Portugal. The complex is very well maintained and spotless. Large pool (balls and lilos not permitted), ample sunbeds/shades and large areas of grass. Pool bar offers good food and drinks.
Easy walking distance to Marina and Town centre, where you are spoilt for choice of places to eat and drink.
Would recommend this Lagos, Marina Park and this appartment. Great holiday.

excellent apartment good location,

Review Submitted: July 26, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
my family travelled 17th july for 1 week to watch my son competing in a swimming competition in lagos. The apartment we found very easily with the excellent instructions given, we hired a car and i would suggest this is a must as the apartment is on a steep hill. We were met by richard and he gave us the passes and informed of us local amenities and places to visit. The apt is close to the large local supermarket. The pool is great but no ball games allowed, there are plenty of sunbeds and the food served is good. The beach is about 2 minute drive away and is excellent.
The apartment itself is very well equipped with good quality furniture and the sunbeds on the large balcony are excellent for soaking the early morning sun. Lagos has numerous bars and quality resteraunts and i would recommend the property to all my friends. I took my wife and 2 16 year olds and WE all enjoyed this holiday.

You Can't Beat the Location of this Apartment!!

Great apartment with a location you can't beat, both in the Marina Park complex and in Lagos. The apartment is situated on what I would say is one is the best spots in the Marina Park complex. You'll find yourself spending most of your time on the terrace not only to soak up the sun but for the great view overlooking the pool and the countryside. It's not often you get a unique view like this in at an apartment complex.
The beach, marina and town are only a short distance away. There is also a grocery store located close to the complex. We enjoyed walking to some of these places but in the interest of convenience, recommend having a car. You will want a car anyway to explore up and down the Algarve.
We recommend the grotto boat tour we found on a cliff walk at the edge of town, great scenery and good value for money. Our favorite restaurant is O Lambertos, ask for the Brazilian steaks which are excellent.
Our holiday was in March and although you can't swim, there is still plenty of sunshine and things to do. Overall we had a wonderful holiday, you won't be disappointed no matter what time of year you go.

Great Resort, Excellant Appartment

Mike and Kath Bournemouth, Dorset, UK
Review Submitted: January 29, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2008
This appartment is fantastic - spacious, clean and with a lovely balcony. At night there is no noise so its easy to get a good nights sleep. Even the areas around the appartment are litter free and obvuiosly well cared for.

The Pool is great and the pool side cafe does great food and drinks.

Dave and Shelly were really helpful and answered any queries the same day - regarding the booking and even gave advice on low cost flights. Travelling by car from the airport is stress free along an almost empty motorway.

Lagos is a super town - with the widest variety of restaurants we have seen outside of a city! This made eating out a pleasure - Swiss food one night, fresh local sea food the next and then our favourite the Argentinian Steak House. At the same time it is a "town" with a good atmosphere and some geat old buildings. You must see the Church / Mueseum.

For surfers, you are in easy travelling distance of some world class breaks (need a car). Go a bit off the beaten track and you can get breaks almost for yourself - well certainly in October when we visited.

Windsurfing - there is a windsurf centre in Lagos full of Starboard boards. My understanding is that there are consistent strong winds in the summer months.

This is my third holiday at this apartment and I am looking forward to the fourth! The apartment is very well equipped with great views of the pool and countryside. The terrace is great to sunbath in the morning and move on to the pool in the afternoons. The restaurant at the pool has excellent service, the staff are friendly and helpful. Lagos is a lovely, traditional Portuguese town with lots of restaurants to choose from. The restaurants offer fresh cooked, regional dishes. The apartment is conveniently located with easy access to the beach, marina and the town centre. Overall, I highly recommend this apartment and Lagos for a great holiday!
