Early Oct a lovely time to visit Northern Cyprus

Review Submitted: November 10, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
The villa is really lovely and where it is situated was just perfect for us: Tranquil 'real' village location, not surrounded by other holiday villas all looking the same and within walking distance of the quaint village centre. I would take torches at night though if walking with children. The backdrop of the mountains was lovely to wake up to and the abbey and the castle lit up at night was beautiful to come home to. The spacious garden with it's own lemon, lime and olive trees and pool gave us plently of room outside for the children as well.
Easy drives to the beaches - once you can find them! - but be prepared for the roads to be a bit bustly in and around Kyrenia. It was still very hot night and day at the beginning of October, both sea and pool were great temperature-wise too – the sea still like a warm bath! So for any future visitors in early October, we didn’t need our wetsuits!
You must take the drive up to the village of Karmi/Karaman, it is really pretty. The view from the terrace and lunch at Levant restaurant there is highly recommended!
The local restaurant, Rafters, just round the corner, is great, as other guests have also said.
Our boys also loved visiting the bowling alley at the bottom of the road! Great service as always by the Turkish and a fun family night out you can walk to.
We also had a very nice evening meal at the new Shayna beach bar in Catalkoy, it's 10 mins drive signposted off the main road towards Esentepe. It looks like a great place to visit during the day too, along the lines of Escape beach in season I should think, but closer to the villa.
Snorkelling was great everywhere we went and the friendly Turkish/Cypriot people a joy to be around. October is dusty before the rains but nice and quiet if you do not like peak season crowds, sometimes we were the only people on the beach!
Oh Diana beach we enjoyed too, just 10 mins up the main road. A bumpy track leads you there and it's a real backpackers ramshackle place - if you like that sort of thing - tin-hut toilets but with soap and towels! We didn't brave the food but we did like it there!
The owner was great with all my questions before we went and sorted out a small problem with the pool immediately while we were there. Great service and a pleasure to deal with.
We would definately recommend this villa to other families!

Villa - Cannot provide enough praise. This is a lovely villa, clean and well appointed with everything that the listing describes and more. We had fantastic weather and made much use of the (kid friendly) pool and spacious terrace.

Owner - Made everything so easy for us both before and during our stay. He arranged transfer and car hire and it was all so smooth. A small maintenance issue was sorted within 90 minutes of calling him in the UK - I couldn't arrange things that quickly if I needed something fixed in my own house at home!

Golf - As well as visiting the harbour in Kyrenia and the beaches, we used the venue as a base for the Korineum Golf and Country Club and it was ideal. A short drive (20 mins) keeping the mountains on your right and the sea on your left and you find a dramatic golf course. More than 6800 yards off the white tees, with great views as you play up into the mountains. Played it three times during the week and every time was a different experience thanks to tee, pin and wind changes. A fantastic club house, spa facilities and inexpensive menu all made it a great venue.

Other recommendations - Rafters restaurant 3 minutes from the villa was consistently good value and good quality - and does a great curry if you cannot go a week without one! We also ate in four restaurants in the harbour covering traditional Cypriot to European menus and they were consistently good quality - if a little more expensive. Acapulco Beach (15 mins on same road as Golf Course) has everything you need ... large sandy beach, safe swimming area, sun beds, changing rooms, loos, showers ... all modern and clean ... plus access to bars and massive swimming pool ... all for one entry price.

Summary - Everything about this villa and its location was top notch, and I am definitely thinking about using this as a winter golf venue.

A warm villa, a hot holiday

We have just returned from this lovely part of North Cyprus. The weather was fantastic, the villa location even better. Close to the town without being on top of it. Near to the beaches, restaurants and supermarkets. The villa itself is spacious and allows easy access to the pool from both kitchen and living room. A good place to bring the kids, both secure and friendly. Definitely worth visiting again. Thanks.

We have just returned from our holiday and we can highly recommend this accomodation. The villa was very clean, spacious and the pool was a real luxury. The villa contained all the essentials you would need and the location was perfect.
A car is essential. We felt that we were able to really relax during our stay and would have no hesitation to go back. Thanks for a great holiday.

Holiday review

Review Submitted: June 28, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Great Villa with a well organised set up in place including pool cleaning, car hire and airport transfer. Very nice area giving peace and quiet but within easy access of restaurants. Eating out in the area can be an experiance but the nearest restaurant Rafters is good. One recomendation for dining out is the Ambiance, but be sure to book on a Saturday and Ladies take your high heels as its a bit dressy at weekends.
Many thanks to all for making our stay enjoyable

Winter break

Review Submitted: April 16, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
Our 10 day holiday in February 2009 was a very pleasant experience, with near perfect weather during the day around 20c. Cooler at night but with a log fire with logs purchased locally we enjoyed some very cozy evenings. Situated centrally within easy reach of Kyrenia, Turtle beach and many other places of interest. The owner has a representative locally and we found both very happy to help in any way(most welcome when in a foreign country). We were so pleased with our visit we have re booked for May 2009, we think this speaks volumes.

My wife and I love going on holiday to sunnier climbs in the summer. We have been to numerous destinations across the mediterranean over the years. I would like to say that this villa is absolutely fantastic. The villa is palacial and for the money you would pay for the same kind off accomodation in Spain, Greece or Italy, this is an absolute bargain. The villa was clean, spacious and wonderfully laid out which was a godsend with a young family as we have. the local people are friendly, the view of the mountains is beautiful. the pool was cleaned weekly and is shallow which was great for the children. Kyrenia is a quaint, lovely old harbour town which was lovely to go to of an evening and is only a short drive away.

This villa is superb. Quiet and in a residential area with no building work going (as you have to be careful with this in TRNC). It was clean it was huge it was not overlooked. I cannot fault this property at all. The layout was great you could see the children in the pool the whole time if you had to pop back into the villa. The pool man came regualry to clean the pool. There was a beautiful restaurant within walking distance. The gardens where beautiful. It is a very well thought out villa. It was so peaceful not near a main road and fully enclosed so I felt exceptionally safe with the children. The owner was more than helpful and always responded to any enquiries I had prior to travel. I woukd be going back next year but sadly it is booked for when we wanted to go. Book now to avoid disapointment!!!

Hi All
Just thought I'd let you all know how lovely our holiday was at this villa. The service was excellent, with a contact nearby who helped us find the villa and settled us in. Owner was also kind enough to arrange car hire for us which took a lot of the worry out of it and got us a really good rate.
The villa itself was in excellent condition, well maintained, well decorated and very spacious and the outside space was wonderful (pool, gardens and bbq area).
We will definately be looking to book this villa again.
