Wonderful Holiday and Apartment

Review Submitted: October 10, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We were looking for a great apartment to stay in for our first visit to Rome, We were celebrating my Wifes 40th and our wedding anniversary so it had to be someplace very special. This apartment exceeded all our expectations. It is located very close to St Peters and all transport to all the sights on Rome. We took the bus from the airport then another bus from the center of rome for one euro and we were dropped off just outside the apartment. The owner welcomed us with a big smile and the apartment was beautiful, clean, bright and airy and made a great base for our sightseeing days ahead. The pictures do not do the apartment justice as in real life everything was of very high quality. There are numerous restaurants just a few hundred yards from the apartment and we eat in a different one each night of our stay, also the apartment is very close to a bakers and a supermarket so we could stock up the fridge and cupboards with fresh food on a daily basis. I cant fault the apartment and the owner made us feel very much at home. We certainly will return again, and maybe make it a yearly occasion, even bring the children when they are a little bit older. Finally just want to thank Salvatore for a wonderful stay and for making my wife and I's first visit to Italy and Rome feel so very much welcome :)

Friendly, welcoming and clean!

Superb location with a balcony view of St Peter's Basilica. All the facilities worked well, were clean and the apartment owner very welcoming and helpful (arranged taxis to and from the airport, food provisions supplied for a late arrival). Kitchen contains fridge/freezer, washing machnie, microwave, kettle, cutlery and crockery - all modern and in good working order. Cafe bar located on the ground floor with a bakery and supermarket just up the road. Everything is within walking distance (take a good pair of walking shoes!) but the 64 bus stops just outside and will take you to the city centre or central train station. Good value for money and would stay again.

Nice apartment

Review Submitted: October 13, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
The listing was accurate. The apartment was clean, light, comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped. There is a supermarket just up the street. The apartment is on a bus line that runs quite frequently through the middle of town (about 30-40 min to the Terminii Station) and I very much liked that when you came out of it you don't feel like you were in the middle of tourists even though you are very close to the Vatican. We much appreciated the many guide and art books in the apartment.
The cold water faucet in the bathroom was stripped but we didn't remember to tell Salvatore until when we were leaving so I'm assuming given the good working order of the rest of the apartment that would be quickly fixed.

There was an extra charge of 10E for a third person to stay one night which I didn't expect. The internet needs to be connected to manually through PPO even though it looks there is a connection if you just do the standard type of connection so persist until you get the right information to make it work. Once on the connection was fine.

There is a single short set of stairs to get to the lift. Otherwise the apartment was very accessible to someone with limited mobility.
Owner's Response: Dear guest,
thank you very much for the appreciation for the apartment.
I'm very sorry about the cold water faucet: if I had known about it I would have had it repaired immediatly.
Regarding the extra charge, as it was clearly stated on the website at the voice " additional information about rental rates", the price per night refers to one or two people; any additional person pays an extra 10 Euros per night. You had booked for two people. You told me about the third person only at your arrival.

The internet connection is not listed in the facilities on the website because the apartment hasn't got one. As you needed it , I gave you my personal wifi key code . It was a personal favour, in order to help you.

Hoping to see you again in Rome. Best regards,
Salvatore

PERFECT!

Review Submitted: May 31, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Perfect everything! The apartment, location, the owner, etc. The apt is perfect for 1 - 4 persons and is prettier than the pictures! It also has a very large walk-in closet (which the pictures don't show) with a dresser and is big enough to put your suitcases in and hang your clothes. The apt is spotless, well equipped and is very bright. The balcony has a beautiful view of the dome of St. Peters Basilica.

It is in a perfect location and is walking distance to a supermarket, restaurants, cafes, shops, bus stop, train station and the Vatican. The area is very safe. We stayed for 10 nights and went to other cities during our stay. We wouldn't get back until late at night and had to walk a few blocks from the train station. We never had any problems.

We booked the apt in October 09 and during our planning we emailed Salvatore the owner many times with questions. He would respond immediately with very helpful information which made our planning alot easier. He was great!

We highly recommend this perfect apartment in beautiful Roma and hope to return someday!

Fabulous Rome apartment

We loved this beautiful apartment, it is very thoughtfully furnished, very comfortable and in a great location, looks much better than the photos! Salvatore, the owner is lovely, had lots of really good tips to get us started. We would recommend having Salvatore book a car for your transfer to the airport, it made a very pleasant end to a great stay. The local restaurants were very nice (good food and friendly staff) and there is a good supermarket nearby for self-catering. The local bus service is great and there is a great deal to see within walking distance, a perfect location for visiting St Peter's and the Sistine Chapel. We can't wait to visit again and have recommended "our" Rome apartment to all of our friends.

Beyond all Expectations

This apartment definitely exceeded our expectations; exceptionally clean and bright, well maintained and equipped with all you could possibly need for your stay. Salvatore is an exceptional host - very hospitable (and also speaks fluent English).
The pictures of the apartment really do not do it justice. It is situated on the 5th floor of the apartment block with an enviable view of St Peter's Basilica. The Vatican City is a mere 5 minutes walk away, which we passed every day. This came in very handy for our visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, as it's advisable to get there early to avoid the queues! It is possible to walk to all the main historical sights, if you are relatively fit, alternatively there is a very reliable bus service to take you into the centre of Rome.
There are several reasonably priced restaurants and cafes very close to the apartment and a supermarket at the top of the main road.
Don't miss out on an evening walk to the Trastevere quarter of the city - winding lanes and the beautiful ancient church of St Maria.
I will definitely recommend the apartment to family and friends and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Highly recommend this apartment. Very clean and well equipped. Ideal location for exploring Rome. Sunny balcony with a lovely view of St Peter's. Salvatore( the owner) arranged car to pick up my friend and I from airport. And then met us at the apartment with mineral water, tea bags ,city maps etc and advice on local amenities and transport.
Staying in this apartment has made a good holiday even better.

It could not have been better!

The information provided was exact in every detail. A very well constructed and well maintained apartment - exceptionally clean, well equipped, and in an ideal location for exploring not only Rome itself but many neighbouring towns/sites (Viterbo, Tivoli, Frascati, etc) . Easy access from Termini Station by bus 64, barely 5 mins walk to San Pietro station (from which one can travel to Termini direct in 25 mins - frequently quicker than the bus) and 10-15 mins walk to Ottaviano Metro. The apartment was very quiet and the little balcony with a view of St.Peter's was great for a relaxing. A short stroll to St.Peter's Square and the Vatican, and Piazza Navona easily walkable (we were two friends 64yrs+ !). Salvatore is a great communicator and welcomed us warmly with maps and advice on shopping, transport, etc. Cannot recommend it more highly. A bonus was the 'Caffeteria' adjacent to the building where a delightful couple warmly welcomed us every morning for our coffee and cornetto - in the Italian style!
