Galicia August 2009

Virgil01 Surrey, UK
Review Submitted: October 9, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We chose this villa on the strength of the location, the photos and the facilities it had to offer. We were not disappointed and our expectations were more than exceeded.

The villa easily coped with 4 adults and 3 lively children from dawn til dusk even when it rained. The games room is spacious, well stocked with a wide variety of activities and is perfect for keeping both children and adults amused.

The owners were on hand locally and could not do enough for us including providing clear and concise information and travel details on the local area. Thank you both for everything.

The pool and local beach were perfect for children and used everyday. Both were cleaned daily providing a safe clean environment for everyone.

The villa provided us all with such a wonderful experience that we are returning next year , this time for two weeks.

Roll-on 2010.

A Magical Week

Danish-Americans Larchmont NY United States
Review Submitted: September 15, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
From our arrival and warm welcome by the owner to our last night in this beautiful villa it was a magical week. The view from the balcony of the water is breathtaking. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. Every possible comfort has been thought of: maps and restaurant reviews, a well-appointed kitchen with new appliances, pool toys and a game room for the children and teens, movies and books, towels aplenty, and delightfully cozy beds. The house was immaculate and the pool cleaned daily. The owners made themselves available and helped with special requests. A goodie basket for our three children was a most generous surprise. The property was perfectly located on a quiet and private road, yet just minutes from food shopping, the beach, restaurants, and sightseeing in quaint Pontedeume. We have already recommended the property to friends and will most definitely be back.

A superb holiday!

Richpea West Sussex - UK
Review Submitted: August 27, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I really just have to echo the earlier reviews on this villa. It is a most lovely villa with a view to die for. My wife called it "Balm for the soul" and the views of the sun setting into the Atlantic were just supreme. The villa itself was very clean and well presented and Keith came daily to ensure the lovely pool was always at it's best and to solve any problems that may have arisen. This was our first visit to Galicia and again, we just loved it. It's far less crowded than the Costa's further South and we enjoyed touring around not hearing other English voices. The local towns were really Spanish and in particular we enjoyed our visits to A Coruna and Lugo. We took a bit longer over our holiday and traveled with P & O on the Portsmouth to Bilbao Ferry. Of course it takes longer but it's well worth considering with two fast and easy routes across Spain to Galicia. Finally, I must also thank both Joy and Keith for their patience with our booking, I found many questions to ask before we arrived and all were answered fully and quickly. In summary, we recommend this villa and area 100%, go before to many others catch on.

An Outstanding Holiday Home!

Grops Horsham, West Sussex, UK
Review Submitted: May 26, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
I am very pleased to be invited to write this review. My wife and I first visited the property in November 2006 whilst holidaying in the area. We were struck by its excellent position and it's views down to the beach and across the bay. Inside it was well arranged, spacious but comfortable and seemed very well equipped.
With our son, we drove out from the UK late August 2008 exploring the west coast of France and the north coast of Spain and stayed at the property from 5 to 8th September. We found it very peaceful and restful and we thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool, the beach and the sea.
Indoors it was as we guessed from our previous visit very comfortable and fully equipped in every respect. We slept very well and the kitchen was a pleasure to cook in.
My son and I enjoyed the media centre and were able to keep up with all the sports news.
On Sunday about 20 friends joined us for a BBQ which with all the equipment available was a great success.
I must mention that the owners were most helpful on our arrival and always at the end of a 'phone if we needed advice and help. We will hope to return again and again!

Highly recommended holiday villa

Chemiconk Knockholt, Kent, England
Review Submitted: May 18, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2008
Nothing could have prepared us for the idyllic setting and beautiful villa which would be our holiday home for 2 weeks in October 2008. The house was very well maintained and so comfortable. The owners were very pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. The house and gardens commanded wonderful views across the bay with stunning sunsets to enjoy in the evenings. The lovely pool was a real asset, many afternoons were spent resting at its side. There is a sandy beach at just a few minutes walk from the property and woodland walks pass by the door. There are many interesting and picturesque places to visit, for which a car is necessary. We particularly liked Betanzos and enjoyed a typical Spanish meal on the riverside. We had a very good fish meal in Mugados. Pontedeume is a charming town with a true Galicean flavour. Redes was another pretty bay we enjoyed. We would certainly recommend this lovely holiday home. - Radio 4 LW reception is quite good outside the house so one can enjoy the cricket round the pool!

Galicia in June

Review Submitted: May 6, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2008
This beautifully located house, over looking the sea, was the venue for our family holiday last year.
The property was comfortable and private, with a great pool and garden for the children.
Joy and Keith were extremely helpful, particularly in providing the necessary equipment for our little ones, easing some of the holiday stress involved with 'babies abroad'!
Surrounding areas, such as Santiago are well worth a visit, as this part of Spain remains true to it's culture. Car hire is essential.
Well worth a visit.

Holiday in Galicia, Spain

Review Submitted: March 26, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2007
My wife and I and our 2 young children had a really lovely holiday at this property. It is a very peaceful and quiet with stunning views out over the water. There is a good beach only a short 10 minute walk away, which the kids loved. The house itself is very spacious and comfortable, and we found the owners to be very helpful. You will need to hire a car to make the most of your holiday, because there are lots of interesting places to explore nearby.

A PIECE OF HEAVEN

NCH UK
Review Submitted: January 28, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2007
This holiday property is what keeps my husband and I going through the dark, wet winter!
The views are amazing, there is always something to look at going on in the water itself or on the sandy beach below.
The proximity of the ocean is just magical and the sound of the waves first thing in the morning and last thing at night is really special.
The house is spacious and thoughtfully furnished for a family to enjoy their holiday in real comfort. The kitchen is very well equipped but you don`t get much done because you are always staring out of the windows at the views!
The garden is of a good size for children and the pool is exceptionally clean and an absolute delight.
It is located in a low-key holiday area with a basic but very servicable shop and restaurant within easy walking distance. The owners couldn`t be more helpful.
