Wonderful restoration

We had a wonderful time, the area is as lovely as the house and its view. We have rented many villas and this is truthfully one of the most beautiful and well restored.
Because the immediate surroundings are so nice, we spent most of the time there, going for long walks in the woods, which are well worth exploring. The swimming pool and pool table were well used, so was the boules green (bumpy but fun!)

Our stay at Casa Piloto

J&AM Warwickshire, UK
Review Submitted: November 25, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Casa Piloto. The interior is fantastic and castle-like - full of atmosphere, while being very comfortable and spacious. All the rooms are beautifully furnished, with a real attention to detail, and the large downstairs bathroom feels particularly oppulent. Our children made very good use of the lovely swimming pool and the pool table. There are some very attractive beaches within about half an hour's drive from the house; our favourite was probably Carnota beach because of the wonderful lagoon. Noia (the nearest town) is definitely worth visiting, especially if you are there for the mediaeval fair, and has some good restaurants, a market and a nice children's playground in the centre. We often went in to Noia for dinner, when we weren't eating at the local, very good pizzeria or having a barbecue. We would also recommend a trip or two to Santiago to savour the architecture and the atmosphere, and a visit to the fishing port of Muros. More locally, the fiesta at Outes was a lot of fun, with fairground rides and dancing in the evening, and delicious sardines served in the park after the St Christopher's Day parade. Overall, we really liked both the house and the area and found everyone friendly and welcoming. I´m sure we´ll be recommending this area and this house to our friends.

Like everyone else in the book to date, we had a great time in Casa Piloto. Pool seems to have been a theme for us – afternoons in the fantastic swimming pool and early evening on the pool table with intense family battles! Did manage to drag teenage daughter out of the house on some occasions
Many great beaches within easy driving distance and lots of lovely restaurants around, one and shop within walking distance.
Huge thanks to Rupert and Maria who provided much help and information without ever intruding - they have done a fabulous job with the house which achieves a perfect balance between luxury and comfort.

Fantastic holiday

Review Submitted: November 22, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
A fantastic holiday – we all loved Galicia. The lush scenery, the beautiful deserted beaches, the friendly nature of the locals. (In danger of sounding like a holiday brochure!) Didn´t see another British Holiday maker – how rare is that?!

The villa was fab – spacious and comfortable as a two family dwelling and had obviously been put together with a lot of thought and visual flair! Loved the garden and the beautiful pool (Our two 5 year olds learnt to swim!) Most of all I´ll miss those stunning views.

Thoroughly re-energised! How could one not be with the spectacular views when you wake up in the morning! My two children (6 &3) have loved it, particularly the horseriding, which they had never done before! Fabulous house, great location and superlative hosts! What more could you ask for?

What a wonderful house! Unfortunately, we´ve felt so comfortable here that we haven´t felt like exploring the rest of Galicia! Staying here has been the perfect first week to our holiday- allowing us to unwind and re-energise.

Fabulous retreat

What a wonderful house, a stunning retreat to relax and unwind in. We enjoyed all the homely touches in the house, the great feeling of space, the luminous views over the hills and the castle like atmosphere. We loved the hand made furniture and the attention to detail, the wonderful bed linen and the designer bathrooms.
