A Cottage with a WOW Factor !

Sprague Lincolnshire
Review Submitted: January 8, 2008 Date of Stay: January 2008
As we opened the door we all went "wow" it's gorgeous!! We instantly felt at home and relaxed, there was even a bottle of champagne waiting us in the fridge, which was a very nice touch. The whole cottage has been beautifully renovated with many charming period features. The main living area was very spacious and enabled Adults and children to have their own space!!

Kitchen was perfect and very well equipped- great table! All open plan with the many windows making it lovely and bright - a place you will want to congregate in!

Upstairs all rooms were delightful and again very tastefully furnished in keeping with the period of the cottage. 2 lovely big bathrooms ideal for families and like us, children with additional needs.

A really quiet location - a great walk in every direction but also a big enough garden for the children to explore with ponies to pat!

All in all a Fabulous cottage - that has it all and not to be missed! Perfect for romantic couples/ familes needing a break or groups with a party in mind!!

Generation Celebration

Review Submitted: October 26, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
A real country weekend! We celebrated our daughter's engagement with three generations, all of whom enjoyed a special time at this property. The very modern and newly equipped kitchen is a delight - those cooking had masses of room and it felt very luxurious and homely - the quality of furniture and fittings is superb with all round views of the garden. We had blazing fires, comfortable seating, sumptuous carpets and plenty of heat and hot water for everyone. Champagne, wine and chocolates were left for us in the fridge and we felt very welcome. The house was exactly as described and we were rather intrigued by a framed hankerchief in one of the bedrooms........ We would have liked to have seen some history about the farm and the locality but we did enjoy the area immensely. The quality and cleanliness of the decour was universal throughout the cottage. Dealing with Owner and Caretaker could not have been easier or more pleasant.

Many Thanks!

My visit to Tickeridge Farm

Great place in a great location. Good local pub. Croquet set out on the lawn was fun. Owner was most helpful, including sorting an additional linen/towel change for a midweek change of guests. Recommended for a family/friends get together.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. Delighted you so enjoyed everything at Tickeridge Farm. Glad the croquet was fun on the 'rolling' lawn and that you liked the local pub.

Lovely house, gorgeous kitchen, clean, bright and spacious. We had a fab time and would thoroughly recommend it. The pub in the village is good too.

A really good place for a week away in some beautiful countryside.

Tickeridge Farm June 2009

We had a wonderful stay at Tickeridge Farm for a long weekend. The gardens are wonderful with plenty of space for everybody - the kids loved running around and feeding the horses. The garden is beautifully kept. The house is fantastic - lots of different areas for us all to spread out and relax and more than enough room in the main kitchen / dining area for us all to eat together. We loved the kitchen. The place was great for the two toddlers in the group who could run / crawl around indoors and out with no worries. Don't be put off by the bunk beds in 2 of the rooms. The rooms have plenty of space and the beds are large and comfortable. The weekend could not have been easier to book and the owner was a pleasure to deal with. The local village is a 15-minute walk but a very easy and pretty walk. Recommend the local pub (Hanley Swan) who were very accomodating to our large group and their climbing frame was great. A beautiful part of the country and the perfect place for a large group to get together. We really hope to be back.

Family get together

nobody at all lancashire
Review Submitted: July 11, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
The house was exactly as described and expected. A beautiful house in a lovely part of the countryside near Malvern.
Everything that we could possibly want from a self-catering point of view was supplied and there was no shortage of anything.
The kitchen diner was ideal for family breakfast or just sitting round the large table for a coffee.
The garden was great for a few rounds of croquet that we really enjoyed (although the grass could have been shorter!)
The bunk beds were a problem as we were all couples but we knew this before we went. Feel that an extra bedroom has been added (or needs to be taken away) to increase rental income at the expense of comfort.

The one down side (and we are very particular about this) was that the house was not clean. Tidy yes and superficially clean but especially the bathrooms and kitchen cupboards were not acceptably clean. Get this right and the house would be absolutely perfect.
A stag party or hen party would be oblivious but my wife and daughter do not go anywhere without their Domestos and Toilet Duck!

When we saw the photos of the cottage on the internet we were excited but the actually cottage blew us away. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and furnished really nicely. There is a huge gorgeous kitchen and really lovely lounge/TV area. All of the bedrooms are lovely and so are the bathrooms. Brilliant showers. The cottage has everything you could need and the owners have kitted it out really well so that you have ample amounts of everything - no mean allocation of 9 forks, 9 glasses, 9 plates etc like some rental properties are. Garden fab and paddock next door with horses. We were a group of girls away for the weekend, but the cottage would also be ideal for a couple of families holidaying together. I will definitely go back to Tickeridge farm

Family weekend in the Malverns

Review Submitted: June 11, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We had a great time staying at Tickeridge. It's a lovely house with nothing but fields to see around you, a nice change for a Londoner!
The kids enjoyed feeding the horses that come up to the garden fence and the croquet set was a great hit amongst all of us.
Even the weather put on a fine display for the weekend.
You must try the local butchers that the owner recommended to us - simply the best pork pies I've ever tasted!
All in all a great break in a great place.

I saw Tickeridge on the internet and thought 'that looks like a nice place for a holiday'. When we arrived, the cottage was even lovelier than we'd imagined! Loads of room and space for all of us and all our stuff to spread out in, lots of places to sit and relax and a kitchen stocked with all you could possible need to make our stay just perfect! I am already trying to work out when we can go back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
