Superb Cottage!

South Downs Southsea, Hampshire
Review Submitted: October 5, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
What a great Cottage and in such a fabulous location!! The accommodation is tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable with good quality fixtures and fittings. It is really well equipped and truly felt like "home from home". It is in the perfect position for exploring the area and after a day of walking / hiking - it is a pleasure to return to. There is an abundance of interesting shops and restuarants in Bowness which is literally on your doorstep (we felt that of all the towns/villages it was the best one). If you are thinking of booking this cottage - do not hesitate - it is absolutely perfect and you won't be disappointed.

We have just had a great holiday it's a great location and cottage. It's as good as it looks in the pictures. This was our first time to the Lakes but won't be our last and will be starying in Bay Tree Cottage again. We have recommended to all our family and friends.

Fantastic base

Had a great last minute weekend break here and the photos and other reviews are not wrong. Agree that the photos actually do not do it justice! Bed was amazingly comfortable and everything was such lovely quality.

Great base for roaming - went to the infamous Thai restaurant and it was actually the best we have had in this country! Amazingly good - but we did order well!

Ideal location, base and a real home from home. Have already recommended it to family, friends and colleagues and will definately use this and the owners other cottages in the future.

I found Bay Tree cottage on the Internet and from the photo's it looks fantastic. In real life, it is even better!
The decor is outstanding and although it was only myself and my partner staying, it would cater for 4 adults and a dog aptly. We spent alot of time in Bay Tree cottage as the weather was so poor. We were quite happy to though as the cottage feels like a real home from home. It was clean and everything in the cottage is well-maintained. It has everything you would need.
The location could not be better. Right in the centre on Bowness close to Restaurants (very good Thai Restaurant about 30 seconds away), Local Shops (for everyday living items and specialist stores), a Chemist and obviously Lake Windermere itself (which is literally a 5 minute walk if that).
Parking was very good as well as although the cottage is in a little side road, you are provided with a parking permit on the day of arival.
Most people in this day and age have an extremely busy lifestyle. When booking my stay in Bay Tree Cottage I contacted the owner directly and although they clearly own several properties and are extremely busy themselves, any questions I had were answered promptly and with a lovely tone and manor. I thought their customer service techniques were as good as the property itself. Second to none!
I will leave with these last few words. This cottage is the best place I've stayed in whether that be in the UK or abroad and I would recommend it to a friend, collegue or stranger! It is definately worth the stay. It made our (very wet) holiday an extremely good one!

We are a couple although this cottage will comfotably accomodate four. This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in, The accomodation is first class and locality was perfect, we will definetly be back the sooner the better.Shops and restaraunts are all on the doorstep meaning you dont need a car. There is a bus service and of course the ferry which you can get to surrounding areas.
The web site is easy to use and the owner is only too willing to answer any queries and again the standard of accomodation was faultless only too happy to recommend this property.

A beautifully presented cottage in Bowness. The cottage is a good size and is in a superb location in a quiet street and yet just off the main road in Bowness. Having stayedin similar properties in the Lakes, we were a little concerned about the parking situation, which we needn't have been - there was a parking permit in the cottage and although it is in a small street, getting a space was not an issue.
The dealings we had with the owner Lynn were excellent.
Highly recommended. We wish it was our cottage!

MY BIRTHDAY GETAWAY.!!

Review Submitted: March 7, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
My sister and brother in law booked a four night break at Bay Tree Cottage for my 40th birthday present and as I look at the Cottage on the internet, I was so excited.! It looked so cosy and welcoming and seemed to offer all that we would need for our stay.! On arriving at the cottage we were NOT disappointed.! The cottage was warm and welcoming after our journey and it certainly was home from home, the beds were so comfty and, as mentioned on a previous review, the en-suite was ideal for 4 adults. Lynn kindly let our Boxer dog, Buddy, stay at the cottage and he quite happily claimed the utility room as 'his room.' There was nothing that this cottage lacked for an enjoyable week in the Lakes, it was the first time we had stayed in a cottage and we are already planning our next visit. My sister had contact with Lynn leading up to the holiday and nothing seemed too much trouble for her. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW LOVELY THIS COTTAGE IS - CLEAN - WARM - WELCOMING - WITH ALL THE MOD CONS.!! There is a good choice of restaurants in the village and pubs to choose from, whether you decide to have a quiet night in or make the most of the friendly local pubs and eat out. We ate at The Albert and the food was lovely there and we also had a take away from The Emporer of Asia, again the food was nice here too.. WE HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED BAY TREE COTTAGE TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS..... FANTASTIC HOLIDAY.!! Thanks

Beautiful cottage in great location

Breadstick Newcastle
Review Submitted: January 3, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
Just returned after a weeks break over New Year in Bay Tree and what a fantastic time we all had (4 adults and a 1 year old). The cottage has been beautifully decorated to a very high standard and is a credit to it's owners, perfect for 2 couples with the ensuite and main bathroom being next to the second bedroom. The layout downstairs with the living room, dining room, kitchen then the utility room is alot bigger than it looks in the pictures and makes for a good communal living space. The cottage was clean, warm and well maintained. The owner Lynn was very prompt in getting back to me prior to our stay with any questions/requests I had and she kindly provided a high chair, stair gate and cot which was much appreciated. The cottage is in a great location on a quiet side street just off one of the main shopping streets in Bowness so you can easily walk into the centre of Bowness and down to the Lake. The Oak Inn in Bowness serves good pub food and I would recommend a trip to Hawksheads village as this is a lovely pretty little village with some nice shops and pubs. I would strongly recommend Bay Tree Cottage to couples and families who like high quality accommodation in a central location within the Lake District.

I stayed here with my partner and brother and had a fantastic weekend, even the dog was made welcome. The cottage was amazing, bright and spacious and furnished to a high standard. The log burner made the cold February evenings cosy.
Situated close to all amenities it was handy for lovely walks and pub lunches.
Would definitely return to this cottage.
Lynn was always available and extremely helpful.
