A Pollensa gem

Pollensa is our idea of the perfect family holiday location. It's large enough to hold a cluster of enticing restaurants and a spectacular Sunday market, yet it still retains a Mallorquin air. The people are friendly, the scenery lush and within a few minutes you can be on the beach at Porto Pollensa underneath the pine trees.
We've stayed in the area quite a few times at various types of properties and have generally been pleased with them all. Last summer we decided to put all our experiences together to define the ideal villa - after all, we only seem to be able to get away once every two years, so our days in the sun are ultra precious.
Top of our list was location - far enough away from the town or busy roads to find peace and quiet but close enough to allow us to dander in of a morning for shopping, a relaxing lunch and a pleasant stroll home. This villa had distance spot on. Once off the main road, it was just a delight to wander the lanes back to the villa.
Next we wanted facilities. Med summers are hot and with two children in tow we knew that air conditioning was a must. Previously we had hired machines for villas but what attracted us to this little gem was the built in automatic units. A good night's sleep was guaranteed and that always makes mum, dad and children happy!
It's good fun shopping at the local market and then trying out your favourite Spanish cuisine at your villa - so a simple but functional kitchen was another requirement. But to be truthful, one of the joys of a holiday is not having to worry about the cooking and this villa's little kitchen was exactly what we needed. The barbeque area beside the pool was another must - our food was delicious - and the fact that the kitchen was close to the vital shady terrace was another bonus - wine could stay in the fridge until we needed topping up!
The bedrooms were clean and practical - as was the bathroom and little lounge. Who needs a lounge you might ask - but young teenagers do need to chill out of the pool and the sun sometimes!
And that pool...pristine and modern with it's own jacuzzi feature - we couldn't have asked for more. Surrounded by hills, greenery and fruit trees it was the sort of location that takes all those stresses, cares and worries and just washes them away. Relaxing around the pool in the evening the sparkling starry skies were an entertainment we never thought our children would enjoy so much.
Mush loved by its welcoming, careful owners and by us.
Perfect.
