OK, but expect less than advertised

Seville is a very nice city and we thus enjoyed our stay. The apartment was average, not very clean, not very comfortable (especially the couch and the bed), though quiet and well equipped. Stores and bars are quite abundant in the area.
The ad is a bit misleading: the neighborhood is not central Seville, but the Macarena; it takes a little bit more than 15 minutes on foot to Santa Cruz; 4 people might find it cramped as there is only one shelf to put some of the clothes and no other closet space; in the second bathroom the shower enclosure is used to store the vacuum cleaner and some brooms; and it is definitely not suited for elderly or infirm, as the bedroom(s) are up a winding and narrow staircase. Families with young children might find the staircase also a little bit dangerous.
I imagine that 5 young travelers could find the place attractive and cool, but for a North American middle aged couple like us, the apartment was just OK.
Owner's Response: The historic center of Seville is divided into various neighbourhoods, such as Santa Cruz, La Macarena, El Arenal, Triana and El Centro. The cathedral is in Santa Cruz (as are all the Japanese tourgroups). Triana is the area across the river and The Plaza de Toros is in El Arenal. The shopping streets are in El Centro and the Alameda de Hercules is in La Macarena.
The apartment is in the neighbourhood of Feria street and the Alameda de Hercules, a.k.a. La Macarena, not only the oldest part of Seville, but also the liveliest and most authentic. From the apartment it's a nice 15-minute walk through winding and colourful streets to the cathedral.
The lady who wrote this review had some problem with the cleaning lady, who hardly speaks English. Hence the comment probably about the apartment not being clean enough.
Inma, the cleaning lady, works hard and is very nice as well. In the past she has taken people to see a doctor when needed and shown them around Seville on other occasions.
I asked her about this renter and according to her there were some misunderstandings that were the result of the language-barrier.
The stairs in the apartment are steep for some people, but not narrow or dangerous.
The bed is comfortable though not king-size. The couch is an IKEA-couch for three persons. Maybe that's not good enough for some people, but it is for the big majority of my renters.
I've had the apartment for five years and I still absolutely love it. I love how quiet it is, in such a hectic and often noisy city. I love the neighbourhood with all it's character, old-fashioned bars and nice restaurants and I love how everything Seville has to offer is within walking-distance.
