What a slice of heaven!

This is a great getaway cottage. (OK, it's in a building, but with the private, terrace entrance, you'd never know it.)
It's bright, sunny and feels so welcoming. Lots of open spaces in the apartment, so it feels even bigger.
The bed is so cozy, with the big, fluffy blanket and pillows. Your window opens to the garden, filled with heavenly scents of flowers. In the morning, you can hear the peacocks in the park about a mile away.
Our hosts, Maria and Roger, were amazing. British Airways was kind enough not to transfer our luggage to the Portuguese airline in Heathrow. (Note: Remember NEVER to fly via Heathrow. NEVER!) Maria just took over and made sure our luggage got delivered to her own doorman. So we didn't have to waste the first day of our vacation just waiting for the delivery.
Instead, we were able to walk to sea, the main plaza, see the government buildings, the restaurant plaza, and all kinds of wonderful, beautiful buildings older than the USA. We found the railroad station, too. Really, everything in Cascais is within walking distance of the 'cottage'.
And if you don't want to walk, there's a bus stop handy. The bus will take you all around the town, even to the farmers' market. Just jump off when you see something interesting.
Coming back, we could take a siesta, or spend a romantic evening in the garden.
We loved having a kitchen and being able to prepare some of our own meals. The variety of cheeses and interesting cold cuts aren't quite the same as here in L.A. They're much less processed and taste more like real food than the plasticky stuff we seem to get.
We spent the best week ever. Perfect for a second honeymoon. Or third. Or fourth...or in installments.
You'll love this place!
Owner's Response: Dear Rick and Eva,
It was a pleasure having you both at the cottage. Thank you for your lovely review and kind words.
Maria
