Believe it or not the photos do not do justice. The most well equipped villa we have ever stayed in with everything you could ever possibly need and then some. So comfortable and homey, it was a pleasure to come home after a day out, have a barbie and look out over the mountains, then relax in front of the tele, which has plenty of channels with English movies etc.
Located in the quaint village of Triquivijate (or Tricky for those of us who can't pronounce it), we can recommend a great local bar/cafe, La Cruzada, for great cheap eats and beer. Antigua is about 10min drive away with a great local supermarket for supplies. Only 15mins from the airport or Caleta de Fuste, the closest 'tourist' area, with it's beaches, great restaurants, especially Fado Rock, and Atlantico shopping centre complete with EuroSpa.
A car is a must not only for the location of the villa but to explore the amazing island further especially the beaches, our favourites being Correlejo and El Cotillo in the north and Costa Calma and Morro Jable in the south. There is a great street market at different locaitons around the island nearly every day, which is worth a look whilst always knowing you can soon return to the seclusion and tranquility of Villa Piedra.
We were lucky enough to actually meet Paul, the owner, who was very welcoming and helpful and even took the time to call us from UK later in the week when we had some difficulty with the internet.
We loved the whole experience and not only would highly recommend the villa to anyone contemplating a trip to Fuerteventura, we also hope to return ourselves in the not so distant future.
Thanks, Paul, we had a blast!
