Our home for a few days!

We have just returned fom this property in Bruges and it was perfect and felt like home. It is clean . attractive and has everything you need like toilet roll and washing up liquid and even extras like Nesquik for children and earl grey tea for me! The landlady is lovely and can be contacted any time and she even left chocolates for our wedding anniversary. The house is round the corner from Langestraat which leads direct to the Burg. There is a supermarket close by on Langestraat and a variety of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels and in particular two excellent restaurants just before the bridge. We will definately stay there again next year as it was comfortable and well- situated and had all the english tv channels!

The apartment was beautifully appointed and everything requested was provided. Brugge is a lovely city and can be easily explored from this location.

The owner is very friendly and eager to please. It was easy to find and as we were running late, were able to let ourselves into the apartment with instructions provided beforehand.

We travelled with four adults and two young children. The only drawback was negotiating the two flights of steep stairs with luggage and children. We left the luggage in the living area, which wasn't too inconvenient given our short stay. Our three year old required assistance and carrying a nine month old was a little difficult.

Overall impressed with the service and facilities provided.

Lovely house in Bruge

We had a great vacation spending time in Krista and Marc's home in Bruge, the location of the house is only a few minutes walk from the main square but still provides a local feel. Krista provided us with a warm welcome when we first arrived and gave us some tips about parking and local stores. The local butchery and bakery were good value for money. In general, the whole town is geared towards tourism so the customer service is great. This is a great town to relax in with plently bars, shops, restuarants and museums to keep you occupied. I would highly recommend this property to family and friends.

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of August. Krista was there to meet us on our first day which was nice to actually meet the person that you have rented from. The home was lovely, clean and modern in a good location easy to walk to the centre of Bruges. Didn't have long enough there would definately go back. Highly recommend staying at the house - Bruges is well worth a visit even if only for a short time.

Bruges house review

Review Submitted: August 25, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The property is well situated near to the city centre. A short walk takes you to the heart of things. There is an excellent butcher and baker nearby. The road itself is a side road, but there are a few youth hostels on the main road nearby. We experienced a lot of nightime noise from these.
The house itself was clean and basically comfortable. The kitchen is the best feature. The one concern that we had was the stairs. They are polished wood, steep, spiral and have no risers. There are 2 sets, the second set lead to the attic twin room. We felt that they are not suitable for children, and had to give our kids (7&9) a bucket for nightime use in case they fell down the stairs trying to get to the loo in the night!. We would not recommend the house for small children for this reason. The landing balustrade would let a small child fall through. The owner was polite and helpful and picked us up from the station.
This property would be suitable for young couples or friends.

Owner's Response: The stairs are typical for all cosy houses in Bruges. There is some thruth that you have always to be carefull with children and stairs; but in our opinion, this review is a bit exaggerated...
We had a lot of families with children and they all loved the house and especially the attic bedroom. When this seemed to be a "problem", they could have changed the rooms, so that the children slept on the first floor at a few metres of the toilet ...

Excellent value property

Review Submitted: June 16, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
This house was just as described. Four of us (ages 55-65)stayed in June 2009 and found the house perfect and very well equipped. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. In a quiet area just a short walk to supermarket and all the famous sights. Excellent value for money. Would recommend this property and may well return at some point.

Recommend hiring bikes to have a really good look around Bruges. Best restaurant we found was Gruuthuis Hof at the bottom of Mariastraat, opposite the Cathedral.
Boat ride along the canal was excellent value and very enjoyable.

Clean and comfortable

Review Submitted: May 27, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the rental. The house was very clean and comfortable. It was also nice to have the necessities already there (salt, coffee, etc.). It was only about a 10 minute walk to the main square, but don't pass up the pubs and restaurants on the way to the square. They are not as touristy and are cheaper. Bistro de Max was our absolute favorite for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a drink on our way back to the apartment. And, it's only about a block from the apartment. Also, the owner of the apartment is very quick to respond with inquiries. She was going to be out of town when we stayed, but was still very accomodating. The people who met us at the house in her place were very delightful. Out of the dozen or so holiday rentals we've visited all over Europe and the United States, this is our absolute favorite!!

Perfect for young families, excellent location

Review Submitted: May 20, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We stayed at this cottage in April 09 with a baby and a toddler and found it to be a very good location close to the centre of Bruges and main attractions as well as supermarkets, delis etc. Parking was included and nearby which was great. Well equipped for small children with highchair and cot, washing machine. Could easily sleep 2 families. Just be careful when paying any deposits as we are from Australia and our bank transfer cost us money from both our bank and the bank in Brugge which added an extra 40 euro (approx.) to the cost of the rental. Can highly recommend this property.
