Beautiful Barcelona

This is the most beautiful apartment we have ever stayed at. Right in the city centre with everything we needed on our doorstep. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished and really well looked after. Our meeter and greeter George was fantastic and showed us around and answered all our questions. He also showed us up to the roof terrace where we sipped cocktails as the sun went down. Truly a wonderful place to be, spacious and light with a feeling of luxury. We can't thank you enough! We loved it and the price was great too!
Owner's Response: We are delighted you enjoyed the apartment. Come back soon.

Very nice apartment, spacious, modern, well decorated, lovely bathrooms, comfortable beds. It was rather dark..but this may be an advantage when it is summer! Great location, within easy walking distance of the beach, Barri Gothic area and other tourist attractions.
Would certainly stay there again. Outside noise was significant from 8am as there were builders opposite, but nothing to disturb our sleep and it wasn't as much of a problem as we expected.
Excellent tapas restaurant around the corner, recommended by the girl who girl who came to meet and greet us (George was ill) but we did not otherwise feel that this service was worth 50 euros.
Owner's Response: thanks so much for you comments. Please note that the 50 euro meet and greet fee is a chance for you to ask and have any questions answered about the area and the apartment, it also includes the final clean and most other apartments charge 70 euros plus just for the cleaning. Apologies for George being ill and therefor you not getting the full meet and greet service because he really is the best at this.

We stayed here for one week (six girls), it is fab! Beautifully decorated, spacious and wonderful in every way. We were met on time, briefed like we were natives and not tourists and shown loads of bars / restaurants on the short walk to the apartment from the meeting point. We want to point out that we have been to barcelona many times before and it is the noisiest city in the world, I am not joking. First timers will not fail to notice this but in our experience this apartment is actually one of the quietest considering its central location. Other plus points are that the apartment has English Sky television so we didn't miss X Factor on the Saturday night! . The location of the apartment in El Born is fantastic, the area is beautiful and fun and yes a little noisy but who goes to Barcelona for peace and quiet? Not us! Thanks again Claire and George you were great and your apartment is wonderful.

My experience in Barcelona

We were 3 adult couples in their fifties for a 5 day-stay. We found the place very well located. Everything was at walking distance from our place and it was very convenient.

The beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean and well equipped. In the main bathroom the showeer and faucet drains were very slow to evacuate the water especially the shower we had to stop while we showered in order to let the water evacuate. The kitchen suited our needs and had what we needed to cook.

The only drawback is the environment was very noisy. In fact we had the impression that the people who talked in the street were right in our apartment and it lasted for a long time. The only quiet hours were from 4 AM to 7:30 AM.

Other than that it was perfect. We would recommend it for any of our friends or relatives.

A superb apartment in a great location

This was definitely the best holiday accommodation we have ever had. Very spacious and well designed, with showers to die for, enormous fluffy bath towels, comfortable beds... Excellent location too - walking distance to the beach and also to many of the sites, and with a nearby metro station for those further-away attractions. El Born is a very attractive, vibrant area, with lots of eateries, but it does have to be said that it is very noisy at times, with dogs barking (from a balcony just a few feet away), people talking loudly (many with appalling coughs, for some reason), motorbikes whizzing up the narrow streets, and just lots of people and vehicles, including a forklift truck right under one window. And for some reason someone was jetwashing the street at 2.30am... So, not a lot of sleep was had, even with the windows shut, but we loved it anyway and may very well come back. George was wonderful and very helpful. Just one comment: we know from a past visit to rental property in Granada that in Spain one should expect no more than one mug and one glass per person, but it would be nice to have more, just to save on washing up or running the dishwasher uneconomically.
Thanks so much for renting out this property. We really did enjoy it.

The flat was much nicer than we anticipated, very clean and in a fantasic location. Clare and George were very helpful and honest about all things, i.e there is some street noise late at night, but for us it added to the character. Unfortunately there was also building work accross the road which started early. We would stay here again without a doubt.

We (2 couples in our mid 30s) stayed in this apartment from 10th of june to 24th of june. The apartment itself is delightfully furnished and spacious. You have all the luxury you would need, including wireless internet, tv and cd-player. The area is absolutly the best area to stay in! With wonderful small streets and lots of cosy restaurants nearby. We walked all around Barcelona from this apartment. It took us 20 min to walk down to Barceloneta by the beach and just a few minutes to La Rambla! Would definitly recommend others to rent this! (Unfortunatly there were some building constructions just opposit, but for us we did not mind to much. We were up quite early anyways!) Would recommend going to the small restaurants in the streets nearby. They served excellent food and the service was extremly good!:) We would defenitly stay here again if we come back to Barcelona!

Wonderful Time

Review Submitted: May 5, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
This is our second time at this apartment and it was just as beautiful as the last time we were there. This trip we bought along another couple, who like us just didn’t want to leave after being spoilt by the wonderful location, complete with roof top terrace and many a cocktail bar in stumbling distance.

Topping it off is the interior design, with the apartment beautifully fitted out with high ceilings, slick kitchen, rainwater head shower to the bathroom, cream leather couch and Smeg fridge! (ok so I am an architect and a little biased).

Highly recommended. Just don’t book it for next time we plan to be there!
