Reviews of Property: Beautiful small villa with swimming pool and gardens, between Pollensa & Puerto

We stayed for a week in August (family of 4, 2 adults, 2 boys aged 14 & 10, who spent most of their time in the lovely pool) , definitely not long enough, the villa is small and perfect, very quaint with beautiful gardens, couldn't ask for anything more. The owner is a lovely lady and very helpful. Villa was very clean and the gardener came once to clean the pool. Very mild traffic noise from main road but really not a problem. Villa is ideally situated for travelling around the North of the island and as a good base to explore the whole island. Porta Pollensa only five mins in the car with a wide selection of restaurants and a lovely beach. Supermarket 2 mins down the road. Car is a must. Would recommend to family and friends. Worth every penny. Would love to return ourselves.

Wir (Familie mit zwei Kindern 11+6) waren im Maerz 2009 in diesem wundervollen Haus. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, es fehlt an nichts. Fuer eine Familie mit 2 Kindern optimal. Neben einem Kamin gibt es eine Elektroheizung, also ist auch an kuehlen Maerzabenden für mollige Waerme gesorgt. Wir haben uns von der ersten Minute an sehr wohl gefuehlt. Sehr praktisch ist die ueberdachte Terrasse mit der angeschlossenen offenen Kueche mit Grill und Kuehlschrank usw.
Das Grundstueck ist rundherum liebevoll bepflanzt und "blickdicht", der Garten ist sehr schoen und bietet zu jeder Tageszeit sowohl sonnige als auch schattige Plaetze rund um den Pool. Den Pool haben nur die Kinder benutzt, sie waren nicht der Meinung, dass 14° C. zu kalt sind.

Das Haus liegt abseits der Straße von Pollenca nach Port de Pollenca. Fuer die taegliche Versorgung gibt es einen großen und gut sortierten Eroski Supermarkt in nur 500 m. Entfernung. Die Vermieterin ist bei Bedarf immer erreichbar und hilft mit Rat und Tat.

Das Haus ist sehr gut gelegen, um die Insel kennenzulernen. Ein Auto ist erforderlich. Verschiedene Straende sind in der Umgebung, Pollenca ist 1,5 km entfernt. Außerdem ist man schnell in den Bergen und kann dort herrliche Wanderungen unternehmen. Cap Formentor ist sehenswert.

We have just returned from a week's stay at this lovely villa. Ideal for couples or a small family it is crammed full of character such as exposed stone walls and beams. It has a lovely patio area next to the pool, covered by a mature vine, and there are flowering plants and shrubs covering some of the walls. It is set in extensive grounds which have a wide variety of shrubs, plants and trees growing. The property is set back some 100 metres from the main road into Puerto Pollensa and shielded from it by extensive vegetation, although there is some traffic noise during the day. The property was clean and well maintained and equiped with air con, satellite TV (German /Spanish language only) CD player, hairdrier and all the little things that you need on a villa holiday. Outside there is a covered and well equipped barbecue area and also a laundry area complete with washing machine. The TV is fitted with a DVD player so it might be useful to bring some DVD's if you have younger children. I think the satellite TV can be programmed for different languages if this is important. The owner, who is very obliging and helpful might be able to sort this out.

A car is essential for this villa an d youare just 5 minutes by car away from both Pollensa old town and Puerto Pollensa and both are worth visiting. They have some wonderful restaurants and a variety of interesting shops and places of interest. Boat trips leave from the harbour in the port to other interesting destinations and of course there are lots of other places to visit and things to do in this lovely island. Lastly, when buying all the stuff you are going to need in the villa (food etc) visit the Eroski superstore which is about 500 metres on the right as you leave the villa access road. The prices are very reasonable and they always have fresh fruit and fresh baked bread and croisants.

We were a little apprehensive as we journeyed from the airport to the villa. Had we chosen the right property? We needn't have worried, the villa Can Mercer was the ideal place for our hoilday and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to family or friends. We would certainly love to go back there again in the near future.

This villa is small but has all the ammenities you would expect from an older property. The 2 small beds are really only just better than camp beds so only really suitable for children. There is alot of road noise as it is off the main road from Pollensa to Peuto Pollensa and there are several building yards in the vacinity making noise too. Saying that it is a secluded spot in a lovely garden. A car is a must. The owner requires her balance in cash a point she ommitted to tell us and therefore cost us an extra £25 for a bank transfer!!! as she wont take a cheque. The owner did however come quickily to the rescue when we had a blocked loo and the problem was sorted immediatly. I would reccommend this villa to a couple or a small family.

The villa is beautifully maintained and very well looked after. It is well equipped for a family of 4/5 and very clean and tidy. The location is excellent for all nearby towns although a car is definately required as walking anywhere is difficult. The property is situated on a small track off of a very busy main road which can be a bit noisy. The owner met us and gave us a full explanation and tour of the property which was very helpful.
Nearby Pollensa is a beautiful village with several excellent restaurants around a square where children play happily together whilst parents can sit and have a drink.
The beach at Puerto Pollensa was lovely. Sandy and clear with lots of watersports available.
