Reviews of Property: Luxury family villa with class & comfort 10min walk to Obidos (luxury bedding).

I have just returned from a 1 wk stay in this villa and we had a wonderful time. The villa was bigger than we expected and really clean and modern, their was a pack with information on the surrounding areas and resturants which was very helpful. The owners where very helpful and i would defiantly return to this villa again.

Stayed here at the end of May 09 and it is a great villa. Location is excellent within easy walking distance to many resturants. A car would be ideal for doing some touring as there are some great beaches nearby.
The villa was well looked after and decorated/furnished to a high standard. The area where it is located is quiet which can all lead to a peacefully holiday.

It was good to be able to leave the car behind at night and wander up the mix of old and new streets to the wonderful hilltop town of Obidos(not too demanding a walk but too much for anyone with real mobility issues) . Relaxed pace and plenty of restaurants-mostly good.
The villa was spotless and had everything you could possibly require to hand-don't bother stocking up with salt, sugar etc till after you get there-chances are there'll be some in the cupboards!
Modern,well-planned and easy maintenance accommodation with v comfortable beds-could maybe have an option of an oversheet instead of a duvet in the heat.
I would recommend bringing a car to go to the beach or explore further afield as Obidos is only a small town and there are some excellent beaches within 15-30 mins drive. Nazare was the scene of our best meal and the "tubo" beaches for fun and watching the surfers.
Minor problems with building noise a couple of mornings but nothing major.
Overall a great property for relaxing amid what felt like a more "authentic" Portuguese experience than a golf/big resort option.

Great, comfortable and well equipped villa within walking distance of delightful town of Obidos. Also a good centre for lots of interesting places within 15 minutes drive.

Property was accurately described. A welcome pack of essentials was provided for our arrival and the Owners kept in good contact with us by phone throughout our stay.

We found some great local restaurants and bars and particularly enjoyed the local 'Ginja' (cherry brandy)!

I am leaving a review on behalf of my family who have just had a villa built on the Silver Coast.

First of all the villa is immaculate and well maintained. It's in a great location for the town of Obidos which is walking distance.

It is everything you need for a lovely relaxing holiday, we are returning guests staying here while we complete on our villa and I can honestly say that this is a villa we have come to rely on.

The owners are such nice people and have done everything to make our stay welcome and cosy.

This villa is highy recommended for anyone that likes quality!

Fancy a quiet getaway? This is for you. An exceptionally well appointed luxury villa in a quiet courtyard location on the outskirts of the magical walled town of Obidos. 20 minutes drive to a choice of broad sandy beaches and less than one hour from Lisbon airport.

The owners have not cut any corners on the fixtures, fittings and furnishings. They also could not have been more helpful in making sure our stay as fulfilling as possible with lots of information and guidance.

Two twin rooms upstairs, both with ensuite shower rooms (perfect for teenagers) and a large double bedroom downstairs with an enormous bathroom (perfect for Mum & Dad).

We ate all our meals outside on the terrace overlooking the pool ( which is large enough for a splash around and a cool off, but wouldn't keep Michael Phelps happy)

Easy access to a good sized supermarket and numerous family friendly restaurants in the town.

Only word of caution would be regarding the ongoing development and building of other villa's nearby which did create some noise and dust at times (July 2008)

What a great experience, we were right in the middle of a typical rual village yet had all the modern convieniences. The pool was great for the late afternoon dip just before the cocktail hour.
There is a modern grocery store a 5 minute drive away with great food and wine.
The best part was the short walk to the walled city of Oidos with fine places to eat, experience both day and evening.
We were able to tour the region which has many treasures.
The actual villa was very well maintained and well appointed with good quality furnishings. John gave excellant directions and provided good contact information about the area.
I would highly recommend this Villa to family and freinds alike.

We stayed at this lovely 3 bedroom villa last March during Easter. I had been to this part of Portugal before but had never stayed in Obidos.

The villa was lovely and warm (it was miserably wet and windy outside) and every modern convenience was included. It was great having central heating - making this property ideal for a winter rental. The house was clean and comfortable. The beds were all made up for us, and the fridge was stocked with water, milk and lots of other goodies to save us going to the supermarket immediately. Perfect after a long wet drive.

The garden with the pool is small, but private. One morning the sun actually shone (in March!) and we were able to sit outside and have breakfast in the lovely sunny back garden. I can imagine how hot this would be on a sunny afternoon in the height of the summer. There's plenty of garden furniture and the owners invite you to use whatever is there.

A Pingo Doce supermarket is about 5 minutes walk from the house and the town of Obidos is just 15 minute walk.
We often walked into town in the evening and the owners helpfully gave us the name of a local taxi driver who was always waiting to take us home as arranged.

Obidos is a lovely town with many excellent walks, restaurants, bars and plenty of activity when we were there despite it being winter. The lagoon is stunning - well worth the drive. Other towns close by include Nazaré and Sao Martinho do Porto - both traditional fishing towns on the coast and well worth a visit. Lisbon itself is about 50 minutes by car and offers excellent shopping. Though if you don't want to drive that far - Torres Vedras is closer.

I would recommend this villa to others who are lookin for a comfortable and homely base in a lovely historic town within driving distance to Lisbon. A most enjoyable stay!
