An enjoyable restful stay

we arrived at Cas Luisa after 3 weeks travelling and loved the place straight away. The setting on a ridge overlooking small farms and distant hills enabled us to sit and absorb the daily tasks of the farmers. The cottage is a delight, plenty of room and lots of books, pictures objects etc.
Theresa and the nearby tavern are great fun and we had some delicious meals there. Karen and Mike live fairly close and are always available to help with any problems. There are heaps of interesting walks on narrow roads, farm tracks and forest, though the walk to the lake was longer than expected and the water level was too low to swim.
Altogether a great start to our Spanish trip.
Owner's Response: We are very glad to hear that our guests from New Zealand enjoyed their stay in Galicia and especially Casa Luisa and the local environment.
Unfortunately the water level in the lake can fluctuate depending on rainfall and the hydroelectric flow, spring and early summer being the times when it's fullest. However, we are installing a 9m x 5m swimming pool at Casa Luisa, which we are sure will increase our guests' enjoyment of their stay here.

The Perfect Cottage

We spent one week in Casa Luisa at Easter this year, and LOVED IT! Everything about it is good. The location is lovely, with beautiful views, yet easily accessible (no long, windy dirt roads to get to it, but a short, well-paved road). The house itself is well-built and magnificently decorated, equipped with everything (and more) you might need for a comfortable stay. On warm, sunny days, you can relax in the porch, sitting on the lounge-chairs, and just absorb the beauty of the country-side surrounding it. On rainy days (there's always some of those in Galicia!) you can be just as comfortable inside the house, with plush sofas, plenty of reading material, warm heating, and a lovely JACUZZI (a great PLUS!). If, after relaxing for a few days, you get the urge to do some tourism, the beautiful city of Santiago de Compostela is just 30 minutes away on a brand-new highway. A special ode should be dedicated to the owners of Casa Luisa, Karen and Michael, who made our stay there EVEN MORE pleasant! They were there whenever you needed them, took care of our slightest need, and ON TOP OF IT they were friendly and fun to be with. We wished our stay there had never ended, and were sad to leave them. I have already recommended the place to several work colleagues and friends, and we are certainly looking for another date to go back. I should also point out that the house looks just as great in real life as in the pictures. In fact, the picture of the front of the house does not do justice to the actual size of the garden. Also, the whole property is fenced in, so it's perfect if you take your dog (like we did).
I cannot think of anything I did NOT like (except for having to leave!!). I feel tremendously grateful to Karen and Michael for their generous disposition. THANK YOU!

Beautiful cottage, Fantastic location

We had a fantastic holiday here and would definitely recommend it to anyone. The cottage is beautiful and contains everything you need and more - it is probably the best property we have stayed in (and we've stayed in a few!) We travelled with our 15 month old son, and the cottage was perfect for us - he had no problems with the steps in the property and loved sitting outside on the terrace to have his dinner - as did we, as the views are amazing. Karen and Michael were brilliant hosts, and their kindness certainly added to our holiday - and of course Mutley the dog was a welcome visitor (our son loved him!).
We will definitely return one day soon (especially as a pool is to be added!) - my parents are already asking if they can come too!!

Galicia at its best

This has to be one of the best holiday homes we have visited. It has been wonderfully restored, equipped with much, much more than you would expect. And you are treated to a welcome pack - a nice touch Karen and Michael. The hosts, their daughter and not forgetting their friendly labrador, are a generous family who gave us their time and company in such an easy going and pleasnt fashion. Try the local traverna - only a two minute walk from the house - for a relaxing drink after a day visiting Santiago or the many quiet and unspoilt beaches. The owner will even make you a lovely dinnner at a very reasonable cost. A very enjoyable, comfortable and relaxing holiday made all the more by the warmth of the hosts and living at home in Casa Luisa.

The cottage lived up to it,s description and more.It is by far the best well equipped cottage I have stayed in ,the furnishings and general state of the cottage were exellent. The cottage and surrounding area are so peaceful and would suit anyone who wants to unwind and relax. The owners gave us a truly warm welcome and were so helpful in everyway and made our stay even more enjoyable.I would reccomend cottage and surrounding area, the bar down the road gave us a warm welcome and added to our fantastic holiday.
Owner's Response: Great guests! We enjoyed their company and they are certainly welcome back any time, especially since they left the cottage in an impecable condition!
