Reviews of Property: Grand Canal Apartment is located a few steps away from Rialto bridge

We were a little confused on arrival as to who was to meet us but luckily we had Fabio's number and, after working out how to actually call him (I think we dropped the prefix from the number given) he met us with a huge grin at the alilaguna stop at Rialto.

Fabio's apartment is excellent. The rooms are large and splendid and the lounge/diner has the most wonderful outlook down the street which has small local shops and cafes. At the end of the street is the Grand Canal .. what more could we ask? It's a lovely area of Venice. On arrival you can take the Alilaguna directly from Marco Polo airport to the Rialto stop (costs 13 euros) and that's 5 minutes walk from the apartment.

There is so much to see in Venice .. the apartment is 15 minutes walk from St Mark's Square and I wouldn't think it necessary to get a Venice card for travelling as the apartment is so central.

There are 3 bridges crossing the Grand Canal. From the apartment you can take a Traghetto (a small gondola-type boat which anyone but mostly locals use) at Santa Sofia stop by the fish maket .. this will take you across to the other side of the Grand Canal (saves walking over the Rialto Bridge once again!) and cost .5euros (about 50p!).. well worth the money and the experience.

At the other side of the river are more alleys and streets .. wonderful .. going south on the street that runs parallel to the Grand Canal is a supermarket.. you can't miss it (hopefully).

We thouroughly enjoyed our trip to Venice and our stay in Fabio's apartment and would definitely stay there again - many thanks Fabio.

We travelled to Venice aboard the Orient Express to be met by a very patient and helpful Claudia, despite our shameful lack of Italian we were made very welcome and ushered into an enchanting apartment that over looks the life of San Polo. Every thing we needed was in the apartment and self catering was so easy with shops and markets only a few moments walk away. A base suitable to explore all the delights of a most beautiful city. We hope to return.

Met at the Rialto Marceto vapretto boat stop by Claudia who did not speak any English but was helpful. Apartment was very nice, clean, and well located to all sites and amenities. Very close to the fish and fresh produce markets and lots of souvenir stalls yet not noisy. Fabio was very helpful and obliging when we needed help with a power problem. He arrived within 5 minutes and the power was back on. Went and bought a brand new iron when the other one caused a power problem so we were very grateful. Fabio spoke very good English and was very friendly. We would highly recommend this apartment to other travelers. The one bedroom apartment could sleep up to 6 people and the shower was excellent.

My husband and I stayed here with our 3 children and loved it. Claudia met us by the Rialto bridge and walked us to the apartment. She is a very warm and friendly person, and we really enjoyed speaking with her. The apartment is in THE BEST location. We loved the market and restaurants that are nearby. We will absolutely stay here again. Thank you Fabio for all of the e-mails arranging our stay, and I cannot say enough good things about Claudia - she was wonderful. Thank you for all!!!

This is a gem of a property in the heart of Venice. The owner met us at the nearest vaparetto stop and took us to the apartment welcomed us and then left us in peace.
The apartment was lovely - spotlessly clean and nicely appointed. The washing machine did not work but the owner offered us the use of her machine. Set is a quiet street the apratment is perfectly set for the Gran Canal and the best and most reasonable priced restaurants are just a few minutes walk away. The Riato market at the end of our street is worth the trip itself and makes self catering a joy. If you are English the tv channels are restricted to BBC World and SKy News but we did not come to Venice to sit and watchTV! We would definitely stay here again in this magical city.

Nice appartment in a very good central location, next to Rialto Bridge. Very clean. Good beds. Quiet at night. Washing machine didn't work, but the rest was really very good.

I booked my romantic weekend to Venice in December.
Venice is a beautfiul city and the apartment was too, its in a restored building, the windows are huge, the facilities were brilliant and its a stones throw to the most famous laguna.
The kitchen dining area, shower and bedroom are wonderfully easy to use and made to a very high standard.
I will be coming back at Mardi Gras! Gilly x

this is a lovely apartment in a very nice location (near rialto bridge).
i've had some negative experiences with apartments that look pretty on pictures and have nice descriptions on the internet but are completely different in real life, but THIS apartment is really as fabulous as it looks like on the pictures. very comfortable, clean, beautiful furniture. also, it was not hard to find. when we got to venice a nice lady (who couldn't really speak english, which was no problem though because she understood us and we understood her) and showed us the way to the apartment and did the paperwork. mr. fabio, the owner of the apartment was very polite and friendly, too.
we spent a great vacation at the apartment and i definitely recommend it to anyone who sets value on a comfortable, beautiful accomodation (i already convinced my parents to spend some days there next summer ;) )
