Golf break in june 08

Family Break Wirral, UK
Review Submitted: September 2, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
The apartment is built and maintained to a high standard throughout the time we were there.

The poolside is friendly and quite and was not overcrowded as all apartments ahve balcony's or roof top terraces for privacy.

There was some outstanding building work in the aera however this did not effect your day by the pool side or evenings in aes work stopped around 1700.

The location of the apartment is close to the main carriageway so transport links are accessible for all level of ability and run on a regular basis.

The apartment is a short walk to the cabanas front which can take around 15 minutes depending on your pace.

On the main straight down into cabanas town there was a very nice restraurant on the left which is part of a villa complex which also has a pool and pool bar.

The best source of information regarding where to eat was from the owner of Nandos sports bar.

The golf course was a short walk from the apartment and provide an good round of golf, this is not a testing course for 14 and below handicappers.

No handicap certificate are required at Benimore GC, a buggy is required especially during very hot days and plenty of water.

The couples or familys that require a relaxing holiday without a very lively nightlife then Cabanas will suit them, there are enought bars to keep them happy.

For familys with children between the ages of 12 - 16 then there is only limited activities in the area, travelling to other towns or adventures parks will be required.

There are three supermarkets in the area which do cater for most needs.

To get to the main beach require a water taxi which cost 1 euro retrun per person and the main beach does has some facilitys however I would be advisable to take your own water and food if you intend to spend the day there.

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the apartment. The apartment is well equipped and tastefully decorated. Like others we found Tom and Julie very informative on our arrival and they had even furnished us with our first beer of the holiday!

We found Cabanas relatively peaceful and traditional which suited us perfectly. We ate out all but 1 night and didn't have any bad experiences. However, if you want something a bit special we'd highly recomend O'Monte which is near the Jolly Sailor. The ambience, menu and service were excellent. We returned there for our last meal of the holiday as it was so nice on our first visit.

We took the train to Tavira a couple of times and would highly recommend it. It's quite an historic town with an old castle to look around. We had a lovely Paella here by the river which was so big they put half of it in a takeaway container for us to to have another day! The train couldn't have been easier, it seems to go every hour at around 10 past the hour and costs just over 1 euro each way.

I would love to return in the future and would recommend it to anyone.

I found this lovely apartment by chance on the holiday rentals website and found the owners easy to deal with by email. When we arrived we were met by Tom and Julie who look after the apartment who gave us some tips about the local area. We were so impressed with the apartment, it was immaculate, had everything we could wish for and made our week in september 2009 very enjoyable. Tavira is, as they say the 'unspoilt' Portugal, delightful people, wonderful walks and evenings out second to none! Our favourite day was when we caught a ferry to Spain from San Antonio and ate when we got back to Tavira by the river in the sunshine at beira rio, wonderful!! All in all us and our two student teenagers had a fabulous family holiday and would definately go back to this marvellous apartment.

Excellent relaxing holiday

We really enjoyed our holiday at this apartment. The apartment is very clean, well maintained and furnished and quite spacious (and we were there as a family of 5). Very good meet and greet service as well.
We went in September 2009 and the weather too was very good, you could sunbathe or go to beaches nearby, but the weather was not too hot. There are very good beaches close by, at Cabanas (about a 15 minute walk each way) or at Tavira Island (for which you will need a car or taxi as it's about 6 miles away). Both these beaches are 'island' beaches so you have catch a boat taxi, which was less than a euro each way.
We had hired a car for the week and this enabled us to explore a few other places in the Algarve as well.
There are several shops within walking distance, and if you have a car you could drive to large supermarkets. Lots of places to eat out nearby and within a short drive.
We had a geat time there.

Cabanas Holiday

Had a very enjoyable week in early September. Lovely clean comfortable accommodation. One of our party of 4 is disabled and needs a wheelchair, therefore found having the lift was excellent. Took the walk into Cabanas so often we wore a track in the road. Found the general pace of life very laid back and relaxed. Eating out was varied and good. Nearest good food was at the Jolly Sailor (nice friendly pub atmosphere and not expensive)and 50 metres along the path, O Monte, a French restaurant whith a really special evening menu

The apartment met our needs and was very adequately furnished. The big open windows onto the balcony from the bedroom were lovely first thing in the morning and the balcony was a lovely place for a G & T in the warm evening sun!

Book it Quick!

Review Submitted: August 25, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Stayed at this apartment for a week, with my family. We were so impressed with the decor and pool area. The apartment had everything, and I mean everything, that we needed for a really relaxing holiday!
Cabanas is gorgeous, really picturesque! But would certainly recommend a visit to Tavira which is only about 5 mins away by car.
Huge thank you to Steven and Cara, who made booking the holiday, with transfers etc so easy!
Many thanks! We will be in touch for our next holiday!

Having never been to Cabanas we were presently surprised how lovely it was, it still remains a local village with lots of Portuguese restaurants and people, unlike Spain nowadays!! We loved getting the boat to the beach. I would say its very much a relaxing holiday, it was very hot in June, so we just chilled, and it was nice to have the pool at the apartment, after walking back from the beach its just what we needed. The apartment met with expectations, it was very clean and well equipped. We will come back next year.

We hade a really relaxing time at your apartment and it was well equipped and comfortable. The food in cabanas leaves a lot to be desired but there are some really good restaurants in Tavira if you look. Tavira is really nice and uncommercialized. The natural pool at pegro de inferno is a must.
