herrlich ruhige Gegend

Liz & Malcolm Surrey UK
Review Submitted: July 21, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We were most impressed on our arrival at La Chintana. Pietro warmly welcomed us to this beautiful spot surrounded by the rugged Sardinian countryside.

The accommodation was charming in its simplicity whilst having everything necessary for our stay. Cleanliness and tidyness is obviously important to Pietro, Giannina and Marco, and the gardens, flowers and pool reflect the pride they take in providing a perfect setting in which their guests can enjoy a relaxing stay.

Although not speaking any English, Pietro has a wonderful way of making himself understood and encouraged us to practise our 'holiday' Italian.

Quite correctly the Agriturismo may only be 400 metres away but, this is 'as the crow flies'. We are capable walkers and our 'passeggiata' took a good 30 minutes, the last part of which is uphill, however, the food, setting and view is well worth the effort. ps don't forget your torch!

We made good use of the bikes, cycling the costal path [over the wooden bridge] rewarding ourselves with a relaxing swim on our return.

We found La Chintana a great location from which to explore the area. We would recommend a swim in the cove a short distance from La Chintana and the beaches at Argentiera and La Pelosa. Visits to Sassari, Porto Torres and the charming village of Stintino for lunches or coffee. A drive along the northen coast to the hilltop old town of Castelsardo only surpassed by the costal drive from Alghero to Bosa.

Alghero is a busy tourist spot from where a boat trip can be taken to visit Neptune's Grotto.

We had a most pleasant and enjoyable week helped by the friendliness of Pietro and his family and would recommend this to anyone looking to get away and relax.

Get away from it all

Very relaxing holiday in good standard property. The pool and gardens were great and the highlight was a meal by the pool in conjunction with the associated/nearby agritursimo. Owner very helpful and good on sign language!
There's a good local beach with small bar and good clear sea.

Easter

Review Submitted: June 22, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We stayed here for one week at Easter. Although the weather was mixed, there was still plenty to do and see. The property is based in an ideal location for walking and exploring the coast. The coastel path is well signposted, and the flowers in April were amazing. Restaurants and shops are 10 minutes drive away, with everything you need. Stintino is 20 minutes drive and has a large selection of restaurants. For this time of year, I would recommend asking for a heater, the nights were quite cold. The owners were very friendly and were always available to help. Knowledge of Spanish or Italian is definitely a benefit for communication although Karen was available for translation when needed!

Definitely a place to get away from it all. The peace and the beauty of the place was inspiring. The view from the swimming pool was breathtaking. I would certainly recommend this property if you need to escape for a while.

Perfect Couple Getaway

Review Submitted: September 26, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
My boyfriend and myself took a weeks holiday here in July of this year. This was our first holiday away together and we could not possibly have asked for anything more. We arrived at our house and couldnt beleve how amazingly big and beautiful the surroundings were, with a pool placed right on top of the highest hill for miles, over looking the sea. We were welcomed with the most wonderful welcome package, full of nice little bits and pieces to make our stay even nicer during the first few days.
The villa contained a folder recommending a number of activities to take part in, and a few restaurants and bars to enjoy. We tried much of what the folder suggested, including a nearby fishing villaged named Stintino which suggested a restaurant called Il Portico which does the most amazing pizza we tasted during our whole stay. Sitting by the harbour, enjoying the sunset and a bottle of good wine. If we were to recommend any restaurants at all it would be this one that is a definite must do!
We would also recomment taking a trip down to Alghero and walking along the port, taking a look at the huge array of boats and ships, and drinking a brilliant coffee on the front. The sunsets are amazing of an evening, too.
We also enjoyed a day trip to Cappo Caccia Caves, which,, although a long walk down some tricky stairs, is well worth the brilliant views of the cave with some of the most entertaining tour guides we've ever experienced.
If you have time, take a look at Alghero market on a Wednesday which seems to go on for miles and miles.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Sardinia, made all the more brilliant with this beautiful villa to come back to at night, listening to the crickets and right under the stars. Hopefully we'll be able to come back one day,
Thank you so much for this brilliant stay!

It is a lovely place to get away, very peaceful. The owners are very friendly and try to help with everything they can. 20 min car journey (near Stintino) will take you to the most beautiful beach you can imagine. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.
