Dear Tatiana

Thank you very much. We had a great time in NY. The apt is comfortable and the size is just perfect for us.Carmen was wonderful. Also, Pepe the doorman helped us a lot with everything.
I have a friend of mine coming in September. I will give him your contact if you don't mind.
Greetings from Portugal

Gonçalo
Owner's Response: Thank you. I am so glad!
Please, feel free to give my email to your friend. I would be more than happy to help...

Hi Tati

Thank you! We had a great time. This is the second time, but it was even better than last year, because its summer :)
The apt is very nice, we are really happy with everything. Also, we are thinking about coming back for Christmas or in October.
So, ( Readers) if you need a cool place to stay in NY, this apt is an excellent deal. Its very big, I mean, in Manhattan is very difficult to find something like that and I hate studios. They suffocate me.
They have laundry in the building, the doorman is super, the kitchen is well equipped. The supermarket is in the corner. The subway is less than a block away.
The apt looks like NY actually.

Very disappointed

We were very disappointed at this location: the apartment is dirty, damp, there were cockroaches everywhere, no internet connection, the apartment is in the basement so no access to "the terrace" ! (we have some pictures)
You can not open the windows and the owner has never shown !
Yes the neighborhood is good but the apartment is a real nightmare! You should avoid it !
Owner's Response: First and foremost we are terribly sorry about your experience. Allow us to respond some of your comments. Nowhere in our posting we ever indicated a terrace of any sort. Also, we don't say we offer free internet. New York is a very developed city and it provides plenty of public wifi in some spaces. For future reference, the city hall park and pier nearby the apartment provides plenty of open space and FREE internet. While we have never experienced any problems with roaches, we ordered a terminator to clean the apartment following your comment. We cannot understand how you couldn't open the windows, however, the doorman could have assisted you with such elaborated tasks. The apartment is cleaned every week by a maid and prior anyones arrival.
Shall you have called us on the number you were provided we would have been able to help you.
Thank you. We care about our guests!

A very good address

The translation in french about tha appart is not very good, I think it would be good to give the floor and to say it's no possible to go to "terrasse" which is an inside yard that we couldn't reach because it's the floor below.
It's a very good adress for the neibourghood which is wonderfull with the Seeport street and the view from the Pier 17 on the Brooklynn Bridge. All you need for food is in the next street.
Very good for subway and a very nice door man.

Great Apt + Excellent Location

I’ve been to NY about 8 times and this was the best place I could ever find to stay at with my husband. I stayed at great hotels there before but this loft was really cozy and comfortable, specially for NY standards. It has a great size and look and the owners seem to really care about their guests.
Also, it’s located in a very nice part of Manhattan where you can pretty much go anywhere from there.
Amazing location, amazing shopping spots, Pier 17, Financial District, very nice neighborhood with great grocery stores around it, so you can feel at home.
Carmen was the lady who cleaned the apartment for us while we were there and she’s a lovely person. That is also hard to find in NY, a place where you rent and have housekeeper services included, so the place is always neat.
That is a great cost-benefits even for people who can afford great hotels and I would definitely be back there. It’s a very special , charming and cozy apartment.

Eight of us stayed at this flat from the 27/02 to the 07/03/2009.

The place is quite cheap compared to most places in NYC, so I guess you get what you paid for.

Pros :
- Very well located (few streets away from World Trade Center site), so handy to go anywhere on Manhattan and for subways
- Cheap, which means extra budget to spend in the city
- Clean
- Fair space (even for eight persons)
- Good few nice places to go out (restaurants, clubs) around
- No deposit

Cons :
- Service minimum, we did not even see the owner once and her assistant is Portugese and does not speak any other language, so if you don't talk Portugese it's REALLY HANDY !
- No heat in the flat, you'll be cold in January !
- Not enough light
- Flat is quite noisy at night
- Only one bathroom and no separate toilets

To conclude I would say that even if some of the cons don't look too good, it all depends on what you're looking for and how picky you are.

If you're looking for a tidy place, with the whole confort, it is probably not the place you need.

If you are a group of young people, who just want to visit the city and are probably not going to spend too much time in the flat, it's perfect.

I would say a stay of a week maximum is fine in this flat and for a small family also the place is ok, for a group of young people I would not recommend more than 8 persons.
