Relaxing summertimes 2009

Reginetta Reutlingen, near Stuttgart, Germany
Review Submitted: September 27, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We enjoyed the stay in the pretty nice villa very much; well equiped and clean accomondation. bathrooms and kitchen compared with other offered "villas" very positive and full equipped. all sleeping rooms has protection against insects; outside area with private pool sufficient for groups up to six people. different places around the villa with comfortable and attractive chairs and tables; this makes sitting outside during the whole day and also the evenings
possible and attractive. phantastic view from nearly all places around the view on the near sea. up to four beaches reachable within max. 10 min car-ride. partly also by hiking. bosa is a pretty nice old sardegnian town with good restraurants offering local food.
Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your positive response.
We have invested a lot of time and money in the outdoor living area. It is rewarding to see it is appreciated.
We now have two eating areas with comfortable chairs and large tables suitable for 8 people. We have provided other seating areas for you to enjoy the views from different aspects of the villa.

We had a very relaxing vacation and were absolutely happy with the villa, the pool and the arrangement. Bosa and its beaches and coastline are also very nice. We're already thinking about a second trip to Sardinia!
Owner's Response: We are delighted that our guests are continuing to respond positively to their stay in the villa.
We hope you will choose to stay at Villa Mannu again.

We so much enjoyed the well appointed and located villa with wonderful views to the bays. Description and reality definitely match. Being close to Bosa and little villages like Flussio made our stay just better. The kitchen is well equipped and just invites to cook a nice meal and enjoy it with fantastic Italian wines on the patio. I would recommend the villa anytime to anyone looking for a good quality accommodation in the less touristy part of Sardinia

Sardinian Holiday

Double Dutch Netherlands
Review Submitted: June 11, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Easily found, comfortable, completely equipped, lovely situated with absolutely magnificent view (especially sunsets). Makes a new and spacey impression, very clean and well maintained. Good beds, excellent sanitary facilities. Five minutes drive to great and large sandy beach at Porto Alabe.
Pool is small, but very nice for cooling off after sunbathing or for children to swim and play. Nice typical Sardinian villages nearby and beautiful inland to make trips to (by car, on bike or on foot). During our stay (may-june 10 days) there was amazingly little traffic on the the good quality (except within city-limits) roads. Very recommendable. Ineke, Jenny, Kees, Tako (Holland).

Villa Mannu - Spring 09

Review Submitted: June 7, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
This is a tremendously high quality place from where to enjoy a visit to Sardinia - this was our first visit to the island. We all thought that the property is actually better than the photographs portray - how many times can you say that? The view out to sea and up the coast to Bosa is breathtaking and it seems to follow you wherever you are on this site. None of the properties nearby overlook it in any way. Instead they add to the surrounding view. Recent additions such as the bamboo roofing to one patio make it one of the best places I can imagine to have a long breakfast. The pool provides an excellent diversion and way to cool off - full justification to go nowhere else for a day or two. Also, because there is no other property adjacent to the pool, there is no chance of disturbing neighbours with "pool noise". The owners have put in plenty of pool safety measures, if you have very young children.

The property owners provide excellent communications and are happy to answer any questions. We got the feeling that they have put a lot into this property and apart from the obvious financial returns needed, genuinely want their guests to enjoy the island as they do. They seem to quickly respond to any comments and suggestions from guests.

Snorkelling from the nearby rocks was tremendous - lots of fish - the best I've seen for many years. Would need to be calm for todellers to go in and would suggest "jelly" shoes for kids because there are sea urchins on the rocks.

Bosa had a realy nice feel to it - a real town, not swamped by tourism (in May anyway). The beach at Bosa Marina was also very good, even when the sea is rough.

A car is essential when staying at this property. The coast road to Alghero is a must. And Alghero itself, plus the coast to the north-west are well worth a visit. We flew to Olbia Airport - about a two and a half hour drive - which provides a really interesting drive across the island. Plenty of other good beaches to the south too.

In summary, we would have no hesitation in recommending this property to friends. We were very reluctant to leave - that says it all!
Owner's Response: We are delighted our guests are enjoying the villa and some of the new developments we have put in place.
We try to make the villa as homely as possible. We have had some useful comments from our guests, including yourselves. As a result of these comments we are now purchasing a new fridge freezer (we agree the old one is passed it's sell by date). Now that the electricity supply to the house is increased we will also be purchasing a microwave oven.

Villa in Bosa Santa Maria dell Mare (Bosa)

tbn4 The Netherlands, Eindhoven
Review Submitted: May 11, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
In this Villa you will find everything mentioned in the description:
There is room for 8 persons to sleep, besides that there is one baby-bed.
The house is located on a beautifull spot and very safe for (little) children, including the pool. The entrance to the house and to the pool can be closed, so you can be very relaxed.
There is no child-chair (b.y.o. when needed). There is no micro-wave.
The property is clean and well-maintained and there are plenty of chairs (in- and outside the villa), towels etc. The bbq-place outside is great!
The customer service is excellent (they send you an email pack with all the information you need and the owner will send you his mobile phone number to contact him if needed).
If you like a stay, away from tourism, in a quiet, beautifull place, I would recommend Villa Mannu!

If you programme your navigator
Santa Maria del Mare, Magomadas Oristano, Sardegna
you can find it easily.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your review and we are delighted you seem to have enjoyed your stay.

You raise a good point about the microwave and my wife has pointed out that it is useful to warm items for infants so we will be purchasing one shortly.

We do have a high chair but tend to only make it available on request. Our contract has now changed so that we know if a child of under two will be coming. So i hope this will make it easier in the future for us to know when to provide it.

Thanks for your valuable comments,

Paul

Nice Villa, Nice Location

DDave Bawtry, England
Review Submitted: October 27, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
The villa is in a great location with fantastic sea views. It is a little out of the way, so you definitely need a car, but well worth it.

There are great beaches just minutes away but it is worth getting in the car and moving further up the coast. The area is particularly good for Scuba and Snorkeling and Scuba trips go from Bosa. The marina and town of Bosa nearby is perfect for eating out with some good quality restaurants.

The villa itself is very well equipped in every aspect and it is of a very good standard, much higher than normal for Italy - based on my experiences.

A very good quality pack of information was provided and this was very useful. If arriving at night you do need the detailed instructions to get from the airport.

This one is definately recommended.
Owner's Response: This house is a great base for exporing the west coast of Sardina. There is numerous beaches to explore from the ones withing walking distance of the house or further a field. No two beaches are alike.
We want our guest to feel at home and to share in the homely comforts that you would expect from a home.
We are about to embark on a major landscapping project for the winter and hopefully by April we will have a beautiful garden which will include above ground pool, large eating and cooking area. Check out our website for up dates
Lastly we would like to thank all our gueats so far who have enjoyed the villa and showed great respect for it.

Was the villa “as described”? Well, it seemed better than that, really! The Holiday Rentals site on its own doesn’t quite do this villa justice, somehow. The property owners’ site is much more comprehensive (and has more pictures), so do take the time out to have a look.

It was perfectly clean and well-maintained, and had those little touches (DVD’s, books, games, etc.) that made it feel like someone’s home rather than just a faceless holiday let.

The directions were extensive and accurate (especially useful were the pictures of each stage), and the information and tips in our holiday pack were invaluable.

The views from the patio really can’t be described adequately here. Suffice to say that, whilst on holiday we normally dine out, almost exclusively – we like to find places to eat with good food and great (usually) sea views – and whilst we found the good food locally, the views just couldn’t come close. We spent more evenings eating in than out, just watching the glorious sunsets!

The local beaches have to be seen to be believed. The quiet ones are deserted enough (during the week) for us to be able to pretend we were on our own (and not THAT much busier at the weekend) but still not too far from some refreshments. Note, this is without going “off-road” to find the really secluded coves and beaches.

The ones in Bosa Marina are livelier, with a correspondingly greater choice of food and drinks and proximity to shops, etc.

The sea at both is marvellous, be it calm, blue and clear or, if the wind is up, with those magnificent rolling waves.

We loved Bosa itself – it has lots of interesting nooks and crannies to explore, and places to sit and while away an hour’s people watching with a coffee/beer or two, but with petrol, banking, (ice-cream!) etc. for when real-life intrudes.

So, a great place for a great holiday, with a lovely villa waiting for us at the end of each day. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Lovely house by the sea

Review Submitted: July 10, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
The villa has fantastic views and a good location close to the very nice city Bosa. The house is clean and spacious and we didn't miss anything. The sea is very clear and our children enjoyed the snorkling from the rocks close to the house. Very nice to walk the small path along the coast from Porto Alabe, at the beach close to the tower we vere all alone and we found a cave.
