nice little apartment in Como

Review Submitted: April 27, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
The apartment is small, but very cosy and just great for two people. It is equipped with everything you could need and the good stock of DVDs was a very nice touch. It's central, but quiet as it is in a courtyard away from the road.
I would have no hesitation in reccommending the property and may well return myself...

Como is also a lovely town and forms a good base for day trips. There's a lot to see in the area both in terms of natural beauty and urban attractions.

Owner's Response: I appreciate feed-back and always take note. I am pleased that guests like the property and welcome comments so I may continually improve.

Great location but..

The facilities are very basic and the layout is not great. In order to accommodate 3 people a mezzanine level has been added to the bedroom which means there is a single bed on the ground floor and a double bed above it. When it is hot, as it was when we stayed there, the temperature in the mezzanine was uncomfortable and the alternative is to use the sofa bed in the kitchenette. Not very comfortable. Even a fan to move the air around would have helped. Remove the mezzanine, put the double bed in the bedroom and the whole situation becomes very acceptable. The owner was helpful and responsive and the amenities were OK. However the location is fantastic and we were able to walk everywhere in this beautiful holiday area. We enjoyed our stay and would return to the area but not this apartment in its present configuration.

Owner's Response: The apt. is promoted as accomodation for a max of three people with two sleeping on the sofa-bed in the lounge and the third in the single bed in the bed-room.There is alternative accomodation on the mezzanine level above the single bed identified in the description as not suitable for every-one. It is cosy and enjoyable for some people. The facilities include, dvd player with films, stereo, washing-machine, tv, modern kitchen etc.

Lovely

Lovely accomodation, equipped with everything you could imagine. Great location. At walking distance from the lake and center of Como, and of the very good restaurants in the street (Borgo Vico). I would especially recommend 'miele & pepperoni' at the end of the street in the direction of the lake.
As for Como, it is an ideal spot for all kind of sporting activitaties and for trips around the lake to the other lovely villages as Varenna, Menaggio (great scenery at the other villages Bellagio and Varenna) and Torno (a small village with a great friendly atmosphere). We sure did enjoy our stay at this great appartment.

Clean, Quiet, Very Convenient

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at this Como apartment. Entrance is through a secure semi-private courtyard for residents of this building only. The accomodation was comfortable for the two of us, we slept on the sofabed in the living room area. The apartment was very clean and adequetly equipped for eating in. We especially like the convenience. The train station is a very short walk away, yet the apartment was quiet. Lake Como, the central area and the towns main attractions were also easily wakable for us, although we enjoy walking and get around quite well. We walked to the ferry that provides service to all the main ports on Lake Como. Very close to a supermarket and a great restaurant just down the street.

Both the owner and his local agent were gracious, accomodating and easy to deal with.

Charming holiday apartment

We stayed for 4 days in this delightful, competitively priced Como apartment. It is extremely conveniently positioned near the main railway station, though very quiet and just a few minutes walk to the lakeside and the quaint narrow streets of Como town. There is a large supermarket close by as well as smaller provision shops, bars and restaurants. The owner was most helpful in providing easy access to the apartment. All in all, we made an excellent choice and would'nt hesitate to recommend this apartment.

What a find!

This property lived up to everything we hoped for and more. The location was within easy walking distance of central Como, even for my infirm elderly mother. It is ideally situated to explore Como and surrounding area. Easy walking distance from S.Giovanni train station - finding it could not be easier. The property is in a delightful very Italian gated courtyard and is very secure, well kept and clean.
The owner could not have been more helpful and provided excellent customer service down to sending me the train timetable. I would definitely recommend this property to friends/family etc. and would definitely use it again if available. The price for Como is very competitive. The street it is situated in has many restaurants/cafes and there is a supermarket just around the corner. As we have family out there we did not eat out during our stay but the restaurant directly next door was advertising starter, main and dessert with glass of wine/water for 11Euros. Despite being in central Como we were not disturbed by any noise.
I cant say enough to praise this lovely apartment or the helpful owner. It is truly a little gem in a wonderful part of the world.

Weekend near the lake at Como

We stayed in this cosy apartment in a pretty courtyard that leads on to a road well-stocked with nice restaurants. There was not time to try them all so we shall have to return to try the others. The apartment is easy walking distance from the lakeside and the historic, pedestrian town centre of Como with quaint narrow streets and a magnificent cathederal. From the lakeside there are boats that travel the length of the lake so a restful holiday is assured. The apartment is situated a few minutes walk from the main-line railway station so access is very easy.
