Gorgeous house with stunning view

Review Submitted: November 22, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
We picked this villa because of the stunning pictures on several websites including the villa’s own page (browse for Villa Maphraaw) and we have not been disappointed. The villa is a beauty and located in an villa community high up on a mountain overlooking what we called the ‘Jungle’. The view was spectacular. The villa is very spacious with an enormous living area, great kitchen and home theater tv room (which we only used a couple of times). The decoration of the villa is of great taste in our opinion. Ensure to have some kind of transportation because you don’t want to climb the mountain with your groceries. The living area on the top floor was sometimes a bit too hot since it was lacking air-conditioning however there were additional fans supplied. The pool is nice and definitely not too small once you dive in and wow what a view! Oh and by the way the house comes with special protection of the house cats that live outside the house, but not to worry they don't come in.

Best holiday ever!!

Review Submitted: August 16, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I have been bringing my family to Samui for a number of years now and have tried a wide range of accommodation on various beaches, including some top hotels such as Santiburi and the Imperial. However after our recent holiday I can honestly say that this trip was easily the best so far - largely thanks to Villa Maphraaw!! In the 12 years we have been coming here I had no idea that it was possible to rent a 5 bedroom villa for the same price as one mediocre hotel room. Amazing!!

I really cannot say enough good things about this trip. Everything was perfect from the booking to the airport pick-up to arriving at the villa. There is a fairly steep five minute drive up to the house but it is well worth it. The views are exceptional, the house spotlessly clean, exceptionally well looked after and decorated with no expense spared. It was equipped with everything we needed from Satellite TV and Internet to a gas BBQ and fully equipped kitchen. We were even able to hire a chef for next to nothing.

I would highly recommend Villa Maphraaw and my family and I look forward to being there again same time next year.

Many thanks Villa Maphraaw!!

Extremely well maintained & beautifully furnished

Villa Maphraaw surpassed all our expectations - pictures simply don't do it justice! The villa offers high quality accommodation, a stunning swimming pool and breathtaking views over Northern Samui and Koh. Nested high in the hills amongst coconut trees, the villa is private and extremely peaceful - the only sounds often being the constant chatter of the crickets and animals. Maphraaw has all the facilities and mod cons you could ask for, including BBQ, large DVD range and quiet, effective air conditioning in the bedrooms. The villa is homely and spacious and can easily accommodate 10 adults (as it suggests) without feeling you're living on top of each other.
Stuart, the Villa Guest Manager, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable giving us great recommendations for local restaurants, taxis, supermarkets and attractions providing a truly personal, yet uninstrusive service. This holiday will stay long in our memories and we can't wait to go back next year!

Relaxing Holiday

Ream Mumbai, India
Review Submitted: April 7, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
Just got back from such a relaxing holiday in Thailand - most impressed with the villa (it seemed like we were the party to use it because everything looked brand spanking new!). Peaceful location with a lovely pool so all we did was eat, sleep and swim! Do let your guest manager know how chuffed we were and the owner who we met twice was very eager to please. I am sure we will be going on another Samui holiday at Villa Maphraaw

LOVED IT!!

The villa is only 1 year old. The first sight of villa was breathtaking with amazing views & good facilities. We experienced some teething problems, but we were compensated accordingly by Stuart, our Guest Manager (and owner). We would return to the villa due to its peaceful & unspoilt location. The closest villa is approximately 150 metres away if you are concerned by the remoteness of the villa's situation. Photos do not do this villa justice!

We had a great time in the villa - beautiful location and lovely setup. The DVD collection and high-speed internet access were both fantastic. Thanks Stuart and Emma for taking care of us

Just about everything one needs

ToniaH Germany
Review Submitted: January 21, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
We have frequently rented houses in several countries, but none were as nice as the Villa Maphraaw! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything starting from the initial booking, the friendly email contact, the information sent, and all the amenities were great. The owner, was always very helpful, and at the other end of the telephone whenever we needed any help, tips or bookings.

The villa is beautiful with wonderful architectural details, lovely furnishings and just about everything one needs. We felt very decadent swimming in the pool in the evening with the underwater lights on, the Jacuzzi bubbling away and the outside speakers playing music. What more can one ask for? After our return to Germany, I told my friends that being back in our house felt like living in a garage after our stay at the villa. I can highly recommend Villa Maphráaw, and assure you that you will find no better accommodation on the island, especially for that price!

60th birthday celebrations

BKB Bedford, Beds, UK
Review Submitted: January 19, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2008
Booked the villa for my husband's 60th birthday and were delighted with the positioning and luxurious surroundings. The property was well maintained and staff came regularly to clean the villa. It really is a fabulous property and ideal for activities around MaeNam area. Chaweng is a long drive at around 30 mins and Lamai at 45 mins if you want to get to the night life. Bophut is closer and has some great restaurants in Fisherman's Village. Would like to have had air conditioning on lounge level as it did get very hot, but we could cool off in the bedrooms. We enjoyed it and would have no hesitation in recommending it to people who were happy to drive in Koh Samui.
