Everything you need for a wonderful holiday

We have just returned from a week in this beautiful cottage. We are a family of five, myself and my wife and our three children, two lads aged 17 and 15 and our 7 year old daughter. First impressions of the cottage were the location. Set in rural surroundings it is very peaceful with very picturesque views. On entering the cottage it is everything you hope for, very cosy with lots of period features. You are actively encouraged to use all of the features in the cottage by the owners with instructions for the use of things like the Esse cooker and log burning fire. All of the rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished appropriately(no ikea rubbish!). The garden was perfect for the kids to play in and the beach is only 10 minutes walk away however we drove there as it's free parking. So many good walks available with some great beaches to be found. Only 15 minutes drive to St Davids which is a lovely little city to explore especially the Bishops Palace. I would recommend this property to both families looking for a ideally placed base looking to explore Pembrokeshire and couples looking for a romantic getaway. We will certainly be returning but next time we'll be taking our dog as they seem to be welcome everywhere.

Home away from home

Minnesota Visitors Minneapolis, MN, US
Review Submitted: April 30, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
This cottage is like a home away from home. The description is accurate as are the pictures. A party of 4 adults visiting the area and we loved it. Unlike some holiday homes, it is not without a personality and the items that give it that are attractive and memorable. It is a family cottage that is well maintained and furnished. We liked the garden; the esse was fun; and everything one would need is provided. The washer/dryer were a huge plus for us as we were in need of them for our second week of traveling. The coastal path is gorgeous and easy to get to and you can walk for miles with unbelievable beauty all around you. The cows and sheep are fun to be around. Walking through the field just outside the back of the cottage was thrilling(it is part of a public path). A herd of cows galloping directly at us just to see what we were only to stop almost at our feet. We did not see or talk to the owner/house keeper while at the cottage but we didn't need to either. Instructions for everything is there and easily understood. The directions to the cottage are right on and everything is where it was said to be. St. Davids, Goodwick and Fishguard are a short drive and have shops, good restaurants and of course, the Cathedral in St. Davids. You need to stock up before getting to the cottage on all fresh items and supplies for a few days. If weather is nice, the garden is a great place to while away some time. Everyone we met around the cottage was friendly and helpful. We would consider coming here for a month or two if we had the time. There is probably enough to keep one entertained in the local area and there would be no better place to do nothing as well. We give it 5 suitcases without hesitation.

this is the second time we have stayed in this cottage this year.
if you are looking for some peace and quiet and a real "get away from it all" break then this is the place for you.
you can walk to the beach and enjoy some spectacular scenery and beautiful coastal walks.
the cottage itself is cosy and has 3 good sized bedrooms and a beautiful dining room.
i can highly recommend the property and will be returning aain in 2009.

A lovely cosy retreat

Review Submitted: November 18, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
Our stay in this cottage coincided with three days of howling wind and rain, and we couldn't have picked a nicer place to hole up and get away from the weather and the crowds.
The cottage is sizable (we were only two) and very well-appointed with comfortable furniture and good bathrooms. The description was extremely accurate.
The owners have left a good array of local information, and the kitchen cupboards held those oft-overlooked essentials such as spices, dishwasher tablets and salt. We helped ourselves, and left other essentials for the next visitors.
Highly recommended for a quiet winter getaway.

Great Location For That Removed Feeling...

Madvillain Blandford Forum, Dorset
Review Submitted: November 12, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2008
Description was spot-on. A typical Welsh cottage that has been tastefully extended to provide ample and well equipped accommodation.
Excellent home-from-home kitchen facilities. Decent dining and living rooms to relax in.
The nearest major stores are Haverfordwest, 20-30 mins by car, so would strongly recommend on stocking up with food and drink.
Although blessed with dry weather, being November we didn't use the garden, but had it been warmer it would have been a lovely extension to our accommodation, with views as pictured.
A truly beautiful location on the doorstep of the Pembrokeshire coastal path - fantastic walks (a 2 mile walk north to Porth Gain is rewarded by the welcoming Sloop Inn serving local Ales and seafood).
I would say that this location has broad appeal, though teenagers with little interest in outdoor activities or its rural location may struggle.
