A wonderful week!

We found by chance "Chalet Veronique" and we weren't desappointed! The chalet is beautiful and cosy with an amazing view. It is well furnished with all amenities required as described. As it is located towards the end of the village, it was very quiet and we really enjoyed the walk to the village and/or to the slopes. We had amazing snow conditions for the season and a quite sunny week. The heated ski lockers were greatly appreciated as well. What a pleasure after skiing a full day to put warm shoes! Saas-Fee is a fantastic location. All is there to spent a great winter holiday with all the family; surrondings, snow, slopes, sledge run, walk, restaurants, etc... Enjoy!

Veronique is a cosy well-maintained chalet. It offers with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms a lot of luxury and comfort. We enjoyed our holiday very much!

Family Holiday

Beautiful chalet with all amenities required. Everything is just as described. Communication, deposits and refund were easy and convenient with the owner. The chalet was clean and well maintained. The caretaker checked in on arrival and set up our taxi for the departure. The Wildi area is a 15-20 min walk from the ski area (only 5-7 min from the sledge run, but the ski buses are timely- one every 20 min. Make sure to use the ski bus stop 100m from the chalet or open air train on the main street up the hill. Saas Fee has everything you could want for a great winter holiday - including a fantastic sledge run for the entire family.

Snow, snow and more snow

We had a great time in Saas Fee, helped by the excessive out of season snow dump over the first two days. Chalet Veronique was a nice apartment which was well fitted out, clean and had everything we needed. The location of the Chalet was great being towards the end of the village it was very quiet, and a short walk to the Ski bus (which we didn't use) or just stroll into the village and through to the slopes. Food and service in the village were excellent and the ski area has something for all levels. Well worth the visit enjoy............

A real birthday treat!

We booked this short break as my 40th birthday celebration. The chalet was beautifully clean, well spacious for the two of us and well equipped. The views were spectacular and the village was within easy walking distance. We weren't skiers and some of the walking was a little difficult, however it was still a perfect break. The only disappointment was not being able to book the husky ride as it was already fully booked upon our arrival.

Stunning

Chalet Veronique was very tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean with stunning views over the valley. Fantastic accommodation.

My partner and I went to Saas Fee in the first week of December and couldn't get over the amount of snow - it was over a metre deep in places (in the village!).

The only problem we encountered was due to the early season the ski bus was not yet running and it was quite a walk to get down to the lifts and even into the village. This was exacerbated when my partner ended up on crutches. I can't imagine this being a problem on-season (with the bus) or in warmer weather. (Although you can hire lockers for boots and skis at the bottom of the slopes- this makes life a lot easier).

Owner's Response: We have purchased a ski room at the lifts for the complementary use of our guests - these are heated ski lockers. These are available all year round to our guests. The village has a network of ski buses with the ski bus stopping 150 metres from the Chalet - all ski buses in Saas Fee are complementary. Throughout the winter & summer there is the Saas Fee dotto train which stops 200 metres from the Chalet serving all areas in Saas Fee.

Easter in Saas Fee 2008

First time I have used holiday-rentals and therefore my first vist to this chalet. An excellent chalet with all the facilities necessary. Clean and very comfortable. All the arrangement with the owner went very smoothly and was a pleasure to deal with. In terms of location it is more ideal for families with teenagers than young children as quite a walk to the base of the slopes. Overall a great ski chalet.

Chateau Veronique in May

peterj Greenwich, UK
Review Submitted: June 3, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
The chalet did exactly what it said in the description and fulfilled our expectations. All was well designed and of the highest standard - although the spiral staircase might rule out the chalet for families with young children and those with disabilities. The kids immediately felt at home, as did the adults. Take the precaution of getting plenty of supplies to last the weekend - Sunday is not the day to run out of food.

In late May Saas Fee was slowly opening up for the Summer season, but there were plently of attractions within easy reach and the walking was splendid. Zermatt (1 hr) and Lausanne (2hr) provided excellent day trips when the weather was 'marginal' in Saas Fee. Clearly the ski facilities were great, but the Summer facilities looked equally tempting - certainly the children want to return.

We travelled from Zurich (3 hrs easy drive). The booking process was easy and friendly and I'd warmly recommmend the property and the area.
