Beautiful Bed-Stuy

What can we say about the beautiful, cosy, home-away-from-home haven that is Bed Stuy Belle? Magnificent!

I stayed at this property with my Mum and 7year old son. The moment we arrived, we were met at the door by Debbie who made us feel instantly welcome and instantly at home.

On entering the property, we were taken by the beautiful decor. Very relaxing. Debbie was absolutely lovely. Upon arrival, she had made us a delicious home-cooked meal.

The area was so peaceful and the tree-lined street offered the wonderful taste of American Fall we see and hear of so much.

We really, really enjoyed our stay here.

Bed-Stuy was beautiful, the home was beautiful, Debbie was beautiful and we loved every second at Bed-Stuy Belle!!!!

Can't wait to go back!

We had a fantastic time!!!!

We were really looking forward to our stay in NYC and we were not disappointed!
The apartment was superb, really clean, well presented and very stylish. The interior design was so well thought out, there was everything there that we could have possibly needed and more. The funky "urban chic" of the decor meant we felt as if we were the stars of our own US TV series! The apartment was really quiet, peaceful and the bed comfy..... we always had a good night's sleep after a busy day seeing the sights.
Debbie is a superb hostess. She answered any question we had before our visit promptly. The booking process was straight forward, everything went like clockwork. How nice it was to book somewhere and have no hidden extra charges! Debbie helped us arrange our taxi ride to and from the airport and was full of helpful advice to make our stay a success. After a long and tiring transatlantic flight it was so nice to be greeted so warmly and genuinely.
Macon Ave is a really good street in an up and coming neighborhood. Anyone we met had a smile and a kind hello for us. The apartment is only a short walk from Utica Ave subway station. The A Train is really reliable and a short ride into Manhattan, stay on it and it will take you all the way to Central Park and the Upper West Side. If you stay out late a taxi ride back is only $20 including tip.
We can't wait to go back to NYC and when we go we will make Bedstuybelle our first choice of somewhere to stay.

Excellent Flat: As Good as it Looks

OzCouple Melbourne, Australia
Review Submitted: October 29, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
The flat is spotless, spacious, quiet at night (!), well-equipped and well-located (with fast access to both Manhattan and JFK airport) and Debbie is lovely (she really does provide you with dinner on the first night!). We greatly enjoyed our nine nights there and recommend it with enthusiasm, particularly to those who have spent some time in New York previously.

For some, however, it may not be ideal. Party ragers and first-time visitors may feel they are missing out on some of the Manhattan buzz if they do not locate themselves in the heart of the city. Local shopping is poor, though Debbie can point you to a good supermarket a couple of subway stops away. The lighting in the bathroom could be a lot brighter. And part (the first part) of the walk from the subway station, while safe, is distinctly scruffy.

For us, these were very minor drawbacks. We found it an excellent place to stay. Highly recommended.

Bed Stuy Belle Brooklyn Beauty

Three Australians spent 9 nights at this fantastic apartment. it is exactly as pictured and YES Debbie did have a meal prepared for us on arrival. Located just 7 blocks from Utica Station, the express A train has you in the heart of Manhatten in approximately 30 minutes. We found the subway great (having been to NYC twice before and not used it) and easy to navigate - certainly get a 7 day MetroCard for unlimited trips at $27.
The neighborhood is friendly with a great new cafe just 1 block away named Orchid Cafe - the staff were friendly and welcomed us back each day! On our walk to the subway we were greeted and treated as neighbours. There are plenty of Grocery stores within walking distance and for more intense shopping get off the subway at Nostrand (1 stop from Utica). If you arrive at night don't be put off by what you see - daylight has this suburb in a totally different perspective.
For several days the New York weather turned bitterly cold, the apartment was warm and inviting despite the cool outside.
Debbie was very helpful and responded to text messages and emails promptly. There is an ample supple of tourist information in the apartment and this was great. Debbie took time on our last night to come downstairs and talk with us for over an hour about our stay and asked for feedback on the apartment. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with her.
For a unique insight into what it is like to live in Brooklyn and New York I would highly recommend Bed Stuy Belle. We would certainly stay here again!

A wonderful stay in Brooklyn

Hazel W Glasgow, Scotland
Review Submitted: August 17, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
My boyfriend and I stayed in this apartment for 6 weeks over the summer and had a fabulous time. The flat is exactly as shown in the photos. It is spacious and well equipped with plenty of storage space. The apartment is a short distance from 2 separate subway lines which was very useful, as was the proximity to the bus. The neighbourhood was quiet with shops within easy reach.

Debbie was very kind and helpful. She was always quick to respond to my emails and had food prepared for us arriving. She gave us information about the surrounding areas and had sightseeing and restaurant info in the apartment as well as bus and subway maps for us to use.

We had a fabulous stay and hope to return to Bed Stuy Belle soon.

Live like a New Yorker

Paul, Yvonne & Jeff Northants. England
Review Submitted: May 22, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
The apartment is in a quiet tree lined street of a residential area of Brooklyn, perfect if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. A short walk gets you to the subway (Uttica Ave) and the A train takes you into the centre of Manhattan for all of the usual New York attractions.
Three of us spent a week at Debbie's place, and the accomodation met all of our needs. The apartment is just like the photo's and is great value.
And, like the other reviews say, Debbie is very helpful and friendly and gave great advice about restaurants in the area for those times when a trip into Manhattan was just a little too much. And it's true, she did have a meal prepared for us on our first day.
Brooklyn is the perfect location if you want to do New York a little differently, we even went to Coney Island.

Thanks Debbie, we had a great time.

Lovely apartment

Review Submitted: May 7, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We had a lovely time in this stylish apartment which we found far more relaxing than staying in a Manhatten hotel. Debbie was more than helpful, the meal she had prepared for us for the first evening was especially welcome as we had been travelling all day.

It was also nice and quiet in the evenings and gives a different perspective to New York other than Manhatten.

It was our first visit to the States and we managed to cram in all the sights that we intended to see.

If you are staying for a few days it is worth buying a 7 day metrocard for use on all the subway journeys and the buses. It cost $25 per person and it certainly paid for itself.

Debbie's communication was great, she always responded quickly to e-mails during the booking process.

We found a nice modern and zen flat and a wonderful hostess, so smiling and friendly who had prepared some food for us when we arrived on the first evening and who called a taxi for us when we left .
Everything written in the ad is perfectly exact and the photos give a perfect idea of the flat .
The contact with Debbie either by internet or during our stay has always been very easy and friendly and we would certainly come back with great pleasure .

Fantastic Experience

Debbie was wonderful! The apartment was delightful and the meal she surprised the four of us with upon our arrival was such a welcome treat after traveling all morning. Everything in the apartment felt brand new and the entire feel of the place was tasteful and relaxing; it was a real haven to return to after being in the busy city all day. We took the bus (1/2 a block away) to many attractions and the subway was convenient as well. We'd highly recommend this wonderful Brooklyn apartment!
