Sandown 6 is probably the best villa we stayed in. The description, location, facilities were very accurate and we could not of asked for a better place to stay. There is beach a step away but sometimes we chose to stay by the communal pool by the villa. Very safe area, and the neighbors were very friendly and helpful. The property was very clean, and a cleaner came once a week. We did hire a car but sometimes we did use local transport with a bus stop on our door step. There are shops, supermarkest etc all 5 mins by car or bus from the villa which was perfect. The cliff restaurant and other local restaurants are all in the area. We also did the Safari adventure attraction and they met us by our villa.
I would recommend this villa to family and friends. What you see in the pictures is what you get and more. I miss waking up in the morning, making breakfast and eating on the balcony with the sun shinning. Then later going for a swim.
I love this villa so much that I really hope it's available every time I visit Barbados.

A Wonderful Stay!

Our stay at 6 Sandown was nothing short of spectacular!

From the time we arrived until the day we left everything was top notch!

The description and pictures were accurate; the friendly helpful service we received from the permanent residents was a class act.

What impressed me the most was how CLEAN the entire villa was; the kitchen and bathrooms were spotless and all the appliances were well maintained.

My children were so comfortable with their surrounding that they started to call the villa their home; I must say we really felt like this was a “home away from home”.

I would recommend 6 Sandown to anyone traveling to Barbados and I can’t wait to return on my next visit.

Superb place to stay

We have just returned from a week at Sandown 6. We have stayed in villas all over the world and this was probably the best yet. The fixtures and fittings were of a very high standard and everything was spotlessly clean. The owners even left us a pay as you go local mobile phone which was extremely helpful.

The description included in the property details was accurate - it is walking distance to the beach, there is a good shared pool, it felt very safe and there were people around to help if you needed it.

It is positioned in a very attractive part of Barbados close to great beaches and good facilities. A good supermarket is close by.

Our favourite trip was when we went snorkelling with the turtles from a beach just down the road from Sandown 6. It was magical.

So, a great trip and a great place to stay if you are going there.

Fantastic holiday

This house is truly fabulous, well equipped and furnished beautifully. Everything was kept spotlessly clean. The pool is a nice size and the slide and springboard provide hours of fun. Crystal cove beach is just across the road and provides lovely clean sand and spectacular snorkelling.
Holetown is a short bus ride up the road and provides a wealth of restaurants and shops. We also ate at the local italian restaurant which is walking distance from the house.
The local divemaster also offers boat and snorkelling trips up the coast, he pointed out all the local celebrities houses.
This was one of the best holidays we have had and will definitley be returning next year.

Family holiday at Hummingbird

Our family of 6 have just returned (very reluctantly) from a FANTASTIC holiday at this property. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible - The location is perfect - just across the road from the beach and a few minutes drive from Holetown. The property itself is new and has the added bonus of the use of a shared pool - literally a few steps away from our front door. This area is gated off and therefore provides a safe environment if you have small children. The pool has a slide and other pool toys should you want to make use of them. The upstairs balcony (directly off the kitchen/lounge area) is a great area for outside eating and watching the sunset over the water (whilst supping the obligatory rum punch!) The owners had thoughtfully provided a pack of cards and it made a change to see the kids away from the TV! (There is a marvellous Tv provided though should you want it).It was also nice to have the added security of having permanent residents Gill and Adrian on site who were more than happy to offer tips/advice about the island. We had a great evening at Il Tempio the Italian restaurant just down the road and some cheaper meals at the Surfside bar in Holetown. We also thought the Piano Bar in 2nd Street was good for the evening. The family made good use of the water sports on offer just outside Cocomos, and we found the snorkelling there to be particuarly good. There is a buoyed off area for safety (which is needed as some of the jet skiers and glass bottom boat drivers do seem to get a bit carried away sometimes!) One of the highlights of the trip was the catamaran cruise with Brian and Fox of Sin-Bad cruises who took us out for the day to swim with the turtles - a fantastic experience enjoyed by everyone. All in all a brilliant holiday and superb accommodation. We will be back!

Family Holiday

Deybreak Halifax. Nova Scotia, CANADA

We came to Sandown for a two-week family holiday and rented side-by-side properties - our group of 10 included grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, a toddler, plus a new baby. The accomodations were PERFECT - kitchen was well appointed, laundry convenient and very important for a young family, dining on the balcony overlooking the sea was laid back and delightful. The grocery store is very close-by and contains everything you might need.
I prefer to sleep with the windows wide open but the local roosters drove us city-slickers crazy with their all night crowing - until we learned to turn on the overhead fans or the air conditioning when we retired, which gave enough white-noise to drown them out.
If you want to dine out occasionally or even regularly, there are lovely restaurants within a short taxi or bus ride up the coast and there is even a lovely beach-side Italian restaurant within walking distance.
The pool was marvellous - the baby could nap in our unit while the older children swam in the pool and we could easily monitor them all. We loved it!
The beach is immediately across the road and very nice - our only complaint was the lack of sidewalks along the roadside but the walk is short and you get used to facing the traffic.
Adrian and Gill, who were the on-site developers, were incredibly helpful whenever we needed anything! They live in the central unit and can direct you to any facilities you might need and answer any questions you might have about local services. They were an added bonus!!!
The Medical clinic is close by and we did need it at one point in our holiday!
Malcolm, the local dive-guide, lives within the complex and was very accomodating. I have been diving 30+ years and the diving here was very pleasant.
We took buses to town and we also rented a private vehicle - buses are great for simply getting in and out of town (Bridgetown to Speightstown) but if you want to do sightseeing in the interior - (and you WILL want to go to the Wild Life Reserve for sure) - it is convenient to rent a car, if only for a day. Another attraction we really liked was the Submarine ride in Bridgetown.
We will definitely go back to this accomodation when we return to Barbados. It was excellent value and we were VERY happy here. We can't wait to see the changes when we go next time - several new units were underway when we left.
