Glenbrook Villa

We spent a week here and it was wonderful. The villa was clean and well equipped with plenty of towels, linen, hangers etc. The pool was fantastic, perfect temperature and clean and the location was great as it is close enough to all the attractions but far enough away to escape it all and get peace and quiet (if you don't have your kids with you that is!). All essential amenities are within short driving distance such as WalMart, Winn-Dixie, Sweetbay supermarkets (Sweetbay is actually in walking distance), gas stations. Although car is pretty essential in this location. Newly opened cinema complex in Claremont is very good and it is close to some good waterski schools such as Lucky Lowe (excellent), Swiss Ski School.

I guess the best way to describe our stay at this villa was...AMAZING. This was our first vacation as a family and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We have 4 children took a friend with us (7 of us total) and not only was the house beautiful but it was the perfect size for all of us with room to spare. The pool was great once it heated up and the house was located close to everything we could possibly need. I actually never wanted to leave the house. As I was drinking my coffee on the patio in the morning, a hot air balloon passes over and I couldn't help but think..."this is the life". A new grocery store is in walking distance. We only used the club house to borrow movies (it's a $10 deposit but you get it back when you return the movies) and it was beautiful as well. My husband had correspondence with the owner via free wireless internet and any questions we had were answered immediately. We will definitely be using this villa the next time we visit Florida. We would recommend this property to anyone planning a trip in or around that area. I hope your stay is as great as ours was. Can't wait to go back.

OMG!! It was all we could say after we explored room after room. We come to Florida about 3 times a year and a villa is the best way to stay. Hands down. This isn't the first time we've ever used a villa, in fact we use one every time due to the fact it's the most economical way. Dispite you may be able to find a cheap hotel, think about the money you will spend for 3 meals a day and a snack here and there. Yeah, it adds up. taying here is like a home away from home. But we enjoyed our week in February. It was a little chilly at night so we requested for heat for the pool. This home is very spacious, clean, and so welcoming. When we entered the master bedroom, we found Swans made out of towels placed on the bed, and in one of the twin bedrooms there was a scorpion made out of towels. So Cool!!! This community is well kept, quiet, and the lawns are well manacured too. This home is great for families, and have TV's in every room. That's a plus. The furniture is very comfortable, and nice table decor. This is the first time we've ever used this home and I'll tell you what, it will not be our last. We have developed a great relationship with the owner via email and the on site management company. We never needed anything once we checked in, and if we did it was just a phone call or email away. We never had to adjust the a/c temp. either while we were there. Truly, Truly, an awesome experience. I rate it five stars. We enjoyed the hugh tub in the master bedroom as well. The community club house is in walking distance, with video games, pool table, computer, excercise room, pool, and more. As far as the area goes, be sure to rent a car. Now there is a BRAND NEW Supermarket located at the beginning of the community with other stores to come. This was not here when we stayed in this community 2 years ago. Super Wal-Mart about 1 mile south of the villa. It's a one stop shop for all your needs, food, games, toys, pharmacy, and clothes. Two drug stores at the entrance of the community, and a number of Fast Foods places, and a Post Office near-by too. Just a short ride on Hwy 192, tons of places to eat, even all you can eat for $5.99. Depending on which Disney Park your going to, travel time can range from 15 to 30 mins. If your into beaches, I recommend beaches on the gulf coast. But either coast 90 min drive. In any event, I can not say more about this place. You'll just have to experience this home yourself. I know we'll be back.

Very comfortable home from home

Just got back from a fantastic 2 week stay in this beautiful villa. We found it to be very comfortable and definately up to our expectations and beyond. We had absolutely no problems with the villa at all, management company very friendly, as were the on site club house staff, very friendly and helpful. Glenbrook is a very smart resort, everything pristine and well cared for as was the villa.
Glenbrook is in a good convenient location with Walgreens shop within walking distance for your day to day needs. We would definately recommend a holiday in this beautiful villa, you will not be disappointed.

Just a few words to say that we had a great time in the villa with not a problem apart from blocked sink which was sorted out within 2 hours. We did loose TV signal but that was due to a storm we were told but was back on next day. not a problem really as never really watched it.
Saw one guest looked they had bad time so thought i would write a few words as we had no problems really and maybe a oneoff. We have just booked again for 3 weeks next year.... Thanks again and look forward to staying in the villa

We arrived at the villa on the 30th sept 08 and we stayed for 3 weeks. Are first thoughts on the villa was inside was great and we didnt want for anything. The pool furniture is in need of replacing as 1 of the loungers is cracked and another one has a bent bar so kept collapsing the patio table also left alot to be desired. Our problems started when we like the family who wrote the other review lost our tv signal. At the time of year we went the parks close early so we were in the villa early most days. When we complained about this we were told that it had been cut off due to non payment. It took 6 days to sort and no apology or compensation was given. The pool guy didnt come and tend to the pool once in the 3 weeks that we were there even though it clearly states once a week. The chlorine was very diluted by the end of our stay and the pool was starting to go a funny colour, again when confronted no explanation and no compensation. A huge ants nest on the poolside which we had to treat ourselves as hundreds of ants were floating in the pool. We were just told that it was this time of year. We asked if we could change villa but because we paid the owner direct and not the company that oversee and manage the villa we were told that this was not an option. I would recommend that you try and pay the villa company and not the owner also pay via credit card as this is covered should you need to change villa. Wether it be down to bad ownership or bad management we paid the going rental rate asked for 3 weeks and did not get any help when things started going wrong and no contact phone number to ring the owner back in the uk. At the end of the day the bills should be paid and it should not be the customers who suffer as a result of the above. We stayed at glenbrook last year and loved it so it was dissapointing to return and be treated like that. I will be using the villa company i went with last year, next year instead. They were a bit more expensive but if we had any queries they were answered and dealt with. It is a real shame that i cant recommend this villa because the villa itself was great. If you have booked this villa then lets hope that what happened to us was a one off and you can enjoy your stay. After this i will not be going direct with an owner.
Owner's Response: the review has been read and the reply is as follows: Fisrtly the villa has brand new pool furniture which was purchased by the management company. As for the issues about ants and the pool chlorine this was addressed to the management company and they had completed a daily inspection as required per the contarct of the management company and the owner. At no time were the management company contacted about any issues in the villa. As for payment of bills, the bills are always paid upto date and never in errors for anything. howvever recently the home owners association changed their management company and transfered all files over to them, and as the owner lives overseas, this in formation did take a little time to reach them. However once the cable issues were brought to the attention of the owner it was quickly rectified when they contacted the HOA new management company (Not the property managment company) it was sorted out. It is with regret that these guests experineced these one off problems, but the feedback from the management company who have never had any issues like this before with the villa was that this client was just looking for some compensation all the time and the complaints they had were not factual.

Great Villa

Had a fantastic time at this beautiful property. Extremely clean and spacious with large bedrooms, a through lounge / dining room and a pool that was large enough but that we didn't have time to take full advantage of. The water wasn't heated but was plenty warm enough (and I don't like cold water). We went for two weeks in April and went to a different theme park each day. The Villa has all mod cons and we didn't want for anything.

I'd argue about the distance from the theme parks as published. Wherever we drove it took at least 30 minutes, mainly because the Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway (you've got to say that with a Texan drawl - it sounds better), was jam packed with traffic each day - nose to tail.

The main tv in the Villa lost its signal after a week and we never got it back, which was a blow, although we hardly had time to watch it. Also the phone couldn't be used for some reason. That was never sorted. The Club House was good and never busy but was about 200 metres away. A car is essential as there are no amenities close by but quite a few restuarants within ten minutes drive. Our favourites were Houlahans, The Outback and Randys (which was the closest and probably the cheapest). If you fancy an Indian the Passage to India close to Formasa Drive, sort of masquerades as one but you may be disappointed. The staff are Polish and although they tried hard, it sort of concerned us when they asked how hot we wanted our Korma!! Don't try the bright green dip - its colour is not in keeping with its taste. Great experience though!

Go to Discovery Cove - it's fantastic and a paradise on earth and don't miss Busch Gardens. Although its about an hour and a half away its well worth it. In fact it was our favourite theme park with not one of the rides disappointing - don't miss Sheikra, Montu, Gwazi and Kumba. The list is endless. Best ride at Epcot was Soaring - breathtaking. Disney Hollywoods best were the Tower of Terror (great fun) and Aerosmiths Rock 'n' Rollercoaster - it takes your breath away accelerating from 0-60 mph in about a millisecond (ok, a slight exaggeration but you get the drift). And don't miss the Kennedy Space Centre. Even my wife and daughter enjoyed it.

A thoroughly enjoyable holiday and we only wish we'd stayed for three weeks to have been able to have a week just to chill out in the Villa and take advantage of the pool.

Never been to America before but we left just wanting to return.
