What more could you ask for ?

Review Submitted: June 5, 2008 Date of Stay: March 2008
We had a wonderful relaxing time staying at this villa and can thoroughly recommend it and the resort to anyone looking for something a bit special.
The photos and description of the villa/resort area (on the website) do not do it justice, especially the patio area and hot-tub. From sunbathing on the patio (yes ! get a tan early March) or reading a book in the shade under the bamboo-roofed pergola, to relaxing, in the evening, in a steaming hot-tub with a bottle of bubbly; its all there at the villa.
Was impressed with the golf courses at La Torre and the nearby Polaris resort of El Valle. Different in design, but both requiring accuracy in shot placement and club selection. The discounted green fee form from the owner available for villa clients, was appreciated. The La Torre clubhouse and town centre restaurants, around the lake, offer stunning balcony views of the course and landscaped gardens,
Off-Resort you can walk in the hills and mountains of the Sierra Espuna National Park, in the morning and paddle in the warm waters of the Mar Menor in the afternoon.
The bars and restaurants on the resort can be frequented as often or as little as you like, as the kitchen at the villa contains everything you need to home cook and the supermarket is 1 min away.
The Visitors Guide Book supplied at the villa contains useful information on recommended restaurants in the area. Can particularly recommend the Wok Buffet in Los Alcazares or San Javier, if you like chinese and stirfry. As much food as you like for less than 10 euro per person.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone. So much so, we are hoping to return next year.

Thanks for a wonderful time.

Great villa with great service

We stayed for a week early Nov and this is a great villa with great service. The owners provided good comms before arrival, during arrival and prompt repayment of the deposit.

What makes this villa different from the rest is the inclusion of all the little things you only find you need when you need them...like a sewing kit, wine opener, and bin bags! oh, not forgetting the beers in the welcome pack after a 5hr journey ;-)

If you're thinking of hiring a villa with a swimming pool outside of summer - Don't! - Hire this one instead with a hot tub! Great from morning to night for adults and kids too.

Resort is good, people are friendly and don't forget to read the visitors book for all the local restaurants. Also don't just stay in the resort, there are fabulous attractions close-by to explore.

Comfortable Villa

Travelling Geordies North East of England
Review Submitted: October 1, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We have recently spent 10 days at this very comfortable villa , it was well stocked, the bed was very cosy. The weather was extremely hot, but the shade in the garden was ideal, swimming pools very clean only 5 minutes walk from the villa , we did enjoy the hot tub especially after a long hot day.The resort is very large and extremely quiet, we where there the last 2 weeks of September not all the Resturants are open and some open only 4 nights per week. A car is a must as there is no public transport ,although there was a Polaris World free bus that would take you too the 2 other resorts. We did have a very relaxed stay and would recommend this Villa thankyou Paul /Blanche from the bonnie North East

Superb villa in a great resort

Basil Fawlty Loughborough, England
Review Submitted: September 11, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We spent five days in this villa in late August, and really enjoyed it with all the fantastic facilities.

The owners have done a great job to give you everything you may need, including excellent local information. The resort itself is pretty new and spotlessly clean. I thought it looked and felt a bit like the perfect town in 'The Truman Show!'

Anyway, the supermarket is just round the corner and is reasonably priced and well-stocked. Certainly no need to go trudging around elsewhere for better prices. The pools within the resort at all spotless and warm.

We have two daughters aged 8 and 10, so all they really wanted to do was play around the pools, and enjoy the villa. It has British TV channels, and in the draw below the TV there's a huge pile of films on DVD and Audio CD's to enjoy.

The resort is less than 15 minutes from the airport and the villa is very easy to find within the resort. We went to the nearby beach and the local town (also about 15 mins away), but our girls were happy just to stay around the resort.

We didn't try the resort restaurants, but would recommend the Wok Buffets in San Javier and Los Alcazeras - only 9 Euros and as much as you can eat - our girls loved it. There's also a good curry house 'The Jalpur Palace' just along the service road from the resort that's good value too.

Congratulations to the owners for making the villa such a great place to stay.

Hello, I've stayed in the villa for 2 weeks the summer of 2008 and the experience was very good. The house is big, and the garden is perfect to do a barbacue or play with your children.

A welcome package from friendly keyholder Carol, supermarket around corner.
There is a good atmosphere around the resort centre, with great live music at Bamboo. We hired a car so travelled quite a bit to neighbouring towns/villages which are very Spanish no fast food outlets or clubs etc

Ideal Family Break

Review Submitted: July 25, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
I recently stayed here (June 08) at the Villa with my family and had "the most wonderful time"!
It was pure relaxation and an ideal location for a family break.
Having stayed at both La Manga and, now Polarisworld, resorts I can offer up a comparison between them.
Although the Polarisworld resort is less well established, the quality of the properties (especially this one in particular) is vastly superior. Fully air-conditioned rooms throughout for an escape from the hot-hot afternoons & to sooth those hot nights. In addition, the high quality finishing touches that make it a real "home-from-home" rather than that "will it be OK when we get there?" experience.
Shopping, on site, is just 1-2 minute's walk from the villa and has a very expansive range of "stuff" to cover all your needs. The range of 3-4 restuarants on the La Torre site are good quality, however, if you have young children, they do not cater with a broad range of menus for kids (the only down site) but the staff are very good. Also, if you want to sit “outside” you “have” to book in advance.
The Pools are very near and "OK" but there are NO poolside facilities (bars, food etc – compared to La Manga), so if you want that, then hop on the shuttle bus (20 minutes) or drive to the main Polarisworld (MarMenor) resort community pool which is a lot better and has all these facilities and is all included as being a resident of the stay.
So all in all a "really excellent choice" and I know we WILL be returning, especially for the HOT TUB!

Lovely family break

Review Submitted: June 13, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We have just spent a fantastic week at La Torre with our four year old son. This was our first visit to this area of Spain and we were not disappointed, not an English breakfast or fish and chip shop in sight.
The villa is ideal, with everything and more provided for your stay. The welcome pack (and the welcome from Carol the key holder) is fantastic, as well as all the other kitchen essentials that are in the cupboards. The villa is very nicely furnished, and the bed was very, very comfortable.
The villa is in an excellent spot, near the entrance with the supermarket on the next street. The supermarket is great, look for the Spanish equivalents of what you would normally buy and the prices are pretty much the same as the UK. The freshly prepared sandwiches, cakes etc are also excellent.
The resort is immaculate, and plenty parks, fountains, gardens etc to walk around and amuse a four year old. The TV package in the villa is also great when its too hot outside for the little ones, and the hot tub is a lovely way to spend an evening when your little one is asleep.
There is plenty to do in the surrounding area - Cartagena is beautiful-especially down by the marina, the Terra Nature wildlife park at Murica is a great way to spend a day, and if it is raining there is a nice shopping centre on the outskirts of San Pedro del Pinatar which is a ten minute drive away.
We would definitely return, in fact as we drove home last night and saw the snow on the mountains and I look out now at the rain I wish we were still there!

Our stay at La Torre

Star Turn Cardiff
Review Submitted: May 13, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Lovely villa, in a good position, and very well equipped. The owners did everything possible to help and the welcome pack was extremely generous. All in all this villa is excellent value for money.
With regard to the area, Murcia town and Catagena are well worth a visit. There are several restaurants and bars on site, and an incredibly good Indian restaurant off site but close by. If you have time, try to apply for a discount card from Polaris World for your stay, as this can give you a very significant saving on food and drink. It takes three weeks for the card to be processed. The supermarket on site is large and very good with an amazing amount of "British" food.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone looking for a holiday in a roomy, well equipped villa in a private environment in an unspoilt area.

Owner's Response: Clarification for future clients: We're very sorry, but the Polaris World Card, referred to in Star Turn's review, is only available to owners of properties on Polaris World developments.

Frequently, there are other promotional discounts available to all guests staying at La Torre Resort, and details of these are available from the Club House. If we know of any at the time of your booking, we will, of course, be very happy to share them with you.

Luxury Detached Villa

Avondale Lanarkshire, Scotland
Review Submitted: May 8, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
This was our first trip to mainland Spain and we chose this villa really at random. We couldn't have chosen better, it was remarkably easy to reach from the airport and there was a very 'welcome' pack of food to start us on our way. The hot tub was wonderful (the photo of the rear garden with hottub does not really do it justice) for the cool evenings and the pools (there was a choice) were 2 mins walk. The roof terrace provided a lovely peaceful setting for a quiet drink and read.
I really felt that we were staying in a friend's home rather than a rented property from people unknown and that perhaps is the best testimonial I can give.
Note that this villa is ideally situated at the front of the resort. If you are going to stay at La Torre, be aware that there is construction work going on at the other end (April 2008). We were well away but other properties may not be so lucky!
Only one warning...a very small step at the front door which I tripped over more than once!!
