Excellent holiday venue.

Review Submitted: July 11, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
It is a lovely cottage and very handy for excellent foodshops and really well-marked walking paths tjrough wonderful countryside. The house is very clean and comfortable and our elderly relative who was with us found it all very easy to negotiate with her zimmer. I would highly recommend it.
Owner's Response: I'm particularly pleased that our guest's elderly relative was comfortable. In previous weeks we have had families with very young children who were also very happy with the accommodation so this really is a a property to appeal to all.

August 2009

Comeing from the south of Germany, Blairgowrie is in two sharp car drives (break in Oxford, backward in Canterbury) reachable. It is far enough in the north and very centered to visit all important siteseeing places by car (Dundee, Perth 20 min; Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinbourgh, Whiskey trail 60-90min). Ben Nevis / Loch ness / Iverness is a little more distant, still we found a perfect fitting modus doing one day drive, one day break.
Blairgowrie has a very good fresh fish shop, butchers, farmer shops even Tesco and some nice clothing shops. If this is not enough Perth is nearby and has all you need on a rainy day. We enjoyed the mild weather breakfasting outside on the large patio. Being in the eastern part of Scottland we had no day of continuous rain although one low preasure follwed the other (permanent rain seems in the West of Scottland). Very nice hiking trails with deers if you drive north-east near Balmoral Castle (45 min).
Our cottage was very clean with new (or almost new) accomodation. All living rooms large, still warm.
We loved to stay there and I recommend it to all my friends.
Owner's Response: As this reviewer and family found, Blairgowrie has lots to offer the holidaymaker and is extremely well placed for touring all of Scotland. We continue to work hard to present comfortable, clean accommodation.

Our stay was very pleasant. The house is fully equipped with great taste and care much every detail, from simple bouquets of wildflowers to a bottle of milk. The house is very quiet and the population as well. Certainly it is highly recommended

Have just returned from a week in Wyncroft and agree with all the positive comments in other reviews. Property is very comfy and so well equipped the only extra we needed to take was a hair dryer!
We really liked Blairgowrie and it is ideally suited for exploring the area. Dunkeld, Aberfeldy, Pitlochry (Ben Vrackie - so glad we made it to the top), Perth, Glamis, Kirriemuir are easily reached by car. We took train from Dunkeld to visit Aviemore (journey time: 73mins) and reached top of Cairn Gorm by bus and funicular.
Good to know we would be cosy on return and would definitely recommend Wyncroft to friends.

Perthshire Beauty

My family and I recently enjoyed a new year break in this beautiful property in Blairgowrie. A really characteristic little cottage which is like a tardis inside. The rooms are large but still very cosy - it truly is a lovely venue for a family breakaway. The surrounding village is as unique and lovely as the accomodation with great little scenic walks just five minutes from your doorstep. The river that runs through Blairgowrie is stunning and for those of you with children, the nearby Davie Recreational Facility will keep them amused for a while. We are so glad that we found this property in Blairgowrie and are planning to return in the near future.

All seasons cottage!

We stayed in this cosy cottage for a week at Christmas time. We were welcomed with heated rooms and seasonal decorations including real poinsetta plants! The cottage is easy to manage and well-equipped.The reclining settees were popular! Blairgowire is a lovely town with a variety of small shops catering to your every need. We only visited Tesco's once! There are a variety of walks from the front door, and Blairgowrie is very central for exploring the area. We enjoyed a daytrip to Dundee. RSS Discovery and exhibition centre are well worth a visit and the cafe there serves lovely food.
We would recommend this cottage to all our friends. Thank you for having us.

Wonderful Wyncroft Cottage

Prue B Canberra, Australia
Review Submitted: October 28, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
What an excellent week we had staying in Wyncroft Cottage in September. Fully equipped with everything we needed, delightfully appointed and Elspeth, our 'landlady' was fantastic if we had any questions. Lots of great tourist information in the cottage, a location close to shops and services (the raspberries were awesome) and excellent walks, drives and historical points of interest in the area.
Perthshire is worth a visit - especially when you stay at Wyncroft!

excellent spacious and immaculate cottage within easy walking distance to the centre of blairgowrie. this cottage was built circa 1869 and still retains some of the original fittings. the property is very clean throughout and has everything that is required for your holiday. it also has a spacious patio and lawn area and is an ideal suntrap. it is also dog friendly. the cottage is well situated for many different scenic walks. infact our car rarely left the front door! the owners are very nice and obliging. we had a brilliant holiday here and strongly recommend this cottage for a very relaxing holiday.
Owner's Response: This very positive and generous review reflects our confidence that this is a very comfortable property which is well placed for lovely walks around the surrounding countryside as well as interesting days out in the beautiful Perthshire area. We feel we have worked hard to create a cosy base where holidaymakers can instantly feel at home and we are always available to respond to any queries our guests may have.
