Lovely property in great location

We had a great week in this house. The house was spotless and very well equipped with microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, as well as TV (albeit all French), radio (Radio 2) and several board games. Emanuele gave us great advice by e-mail before our trip and a lovely welcome when we arrived with lots of information about the area. We felt confident that she would deal with any problems if they arose - but none did. The garden was lovely - BBQ and patio furniture, and very secure for children as walled all the way round. The only negative comment I have about the house is that the stairs are quite steep for young children. The house is located a 1 minute walk from the harbour where you can watch the fishing boats coming in and a 2/3 minute walk from a lovely beach (sandy, but also has rock pools). It was great to be able to swim in the sea and then walk back to the house for a hot shower (there seemed to be limitless hot water). There are several cafes within a 5 minute walk, a good shop for provisions, as well as a couple of boulangeries. We enjoyed our visit to the near by lighthouse at Gattesville, and a day in Saint Vast with a trip to Il de Tatihou. All in all we were very impressed and had a lovely holiday.

vacanza in Normandia

NORMANDIA S.Giuliano - Milano - Italy
Review Submitted: June 30, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009

Wonderful little house, beautifully renovated and in an excellent location for walking, sightseeing and restaurants. We spent a wonderfully peaceful New year, eating great food, walking and just enjoying the peace and life of Barfleur.

Idyllic

Review Submitted: September 16, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
After a difficult year, my husband and I wanted somewhere quiet to chill out for a week, and this property was perfect. The property has been refurbished and has everything you might need - easy chairs, dining chairs for 4, dishwasher, washing machine, central heating, etc. The garden is a haven - walled and private.

Barfleur is a very small, picturesque fishing village. If you want lively bars and discos, it isn't the place for you, but if you're content to enjoy the scenery, or want to use it as a base for exploring Normandy and beyond, it's perfect.

I can't rate this property, or the service we received, more highly.

A delight

We spent a week there when it rained a lot and the fishermen were on strike - and we had a lovely time. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. Although there are no views to the harbour, it is so close that it feels as though you are there.
Cafes and essential food shops are near and - if there is fishing - there look to be plenty of places to buy fish.

Walking from Barfleur is a delight, with paths along the coast to north and south.

But the cottage is what makes this. Not only is it well and nicely furnished with an excellent kitchen, it also has a well sheltered rear garden which catches the sun all day.

Well worth the stay.

It was a pleasure to spent a calm and reposing week in the cosy and lovely fisherhouse in Barfleur. My wife and I liked to walk on the seaside and to spent many sunny hours in the rear garden which is a little peaceful and sheltered oasis within Barfleur. The house has a good equipment and everything you might need. Short ways to all shops and Barfleur harbour, so cooking with fresh sea food was easy and delightful as well. No doubt: well worth the stay.
