The fact that we returned again to this apartment says it all.
Once again Andy & Tanya were perfect hosts - they even arranged great weather for our week. Thoughtful additions like a PIR sensor to the outside light for the apartment show the care Andy & Tanya take over their guests comfort.
This is a great base for exploring this region of Spain - Denia, Javea, Moraira and Altea are all worth visiting.

Casa Ancia - thoroughly recommended

Review Submitted: July 22, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We stayed at Casa Ancia for 2 weeks in late June/early July and had a great time. Andy and Tanya were excellent hosts who, without being intrusive, make sure that everything is right. This delightful apartment was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed, first class shower and good quality cutlery. As a bonus, a welcome pack of groceries awaited us which included a bottle of wine and water - especially appreciated as we arrived late at night. The location was terrific for us; you can park your car under cover right outside and just a couple minutes drive takes you to the beach.Ten minutes away is our favourite Spanish resort, Moraira where you are spoiled for choice for restaurants.

Go there - love it. We did ...!

Owner's Response: It is so nice to receive such lovely reviews as these, as we try very hard to make the holiday experience of our guests as memorable and pleasant as possible.
We are very mindfull of how important peoples holidays are to them, and endeavor to provide a relaxed, clean and fully equiped holiday apartment.
We thank Roger & Denise for their very kind comments.
Andy & Tanya.

We stayed here while work was being done on our villa, and could not fault the place.
The decor, cleanliness and self catering facilities are perfect.
A special bonus is the lovely communal pool, large and mostly empty - how great to have it all to oneself!
Andy and Tanya are the ideal hosts, helpful but unobtrusive.
Although the apartment only has one bedroom it is very spacious with a sofa bed in the lounge, so would be ideal for a small family as well as for couples.
The eye catching sea views are to die for.

Owner's Response: The communal swimming pool always scores a big hit with our guests as it is often very quiet and tranquil. Great for sunbathing or just chilling out in the well maintained large pool. We like to help our guests in any way we can if possible, but we are very aware of their personal space and privacy during their holiday as well.
It appears we are getting the right balance.
Andy & Tanya.

Whjlst we are frequent visitors to this lovely area on the North Costa Blanca this is the first time we have stayed here but it certainly will not be the last.

On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Andy and Tanya who showed us round the apartment and advised us of the local amenities. The apartment has everything you could need for your stay and is spotless. Andy and Tanya are at hand during your stay should you need any help or information as they live above the apartment. Do not be put off by this as they are not at all intrusive and respect your privacy.

There is a lovely communal pool just up the road which you have access to. There are many good restaraunts in the area - see the guide in the apartment which Andy and Tanya have prepared. Also try the Bull and Bear in Bennitachell - sounds very English but it has a Spanish feel to it and the Menu del Dia is excellent. Also try Piri-Piri on the sea front at Javea near the port - booking recommended.

Dont miss a stroll roud the narrow streets of Javea old town. The nearby coastal town of Moraira is worth a visit and if you pick the right time of year they have the Moors and Christians fiesta.

Also if you park your car in the car park at Moraira and want a walk along the coast go to El Portet which is a small village set in a sandy cove. Sit and have a coffee at one of the bars overlooking the sea.

We had a really relaxing holiday and Andy and Tanya also ordered the weather for us which was a bonus !!

We will be back!!.

Owner's Response: We are looking forward to seeing Chris & Rosey next year perhaps. We really appreciate that our guests like the apartment, and particularly find our information pack useful. When we have guest reviews like this it makes all our hard work very worth while and satisfying.
Thanks for a great review.
Andy & Tanya.

Cas Ancla Cumbre Del Sol

This is an excellent apartment - very well equipped and spotlessly clean. In addition to the very well constructed information pack in the apartment the owners - Andy and Tanya - are always willing to offer help and advice.
This was our second visit to the area and again we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
There are a variety of restaurants in the area - we particularly enjoyed Meso De Juanvi in Benitachell and Country Kitchen on the road to Moraira.
For lunch try Vent I Verd at Sierra Bernia - a great 4 course lunch with wine for €15 each - booking is advisable.
Near the apartment is a lovely quiet beach as an alternative to the communal pool.
We would certainly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a graet base to explore this area of Spain.

Owner's Response: After their time at our apartment we believe we may be seeing more of Linda & Bryden, they were lovely company to have around and certainly enjoyed some of the fantastic restaurants we have in the area. Always good to see nice people again!

Casa Ancla, Cumbre del Sol

We stayed in this lovely apartment for a week in May. The weather was perfect and we really enjoyed sightseeing around the area. A car is essential but it was cheap to hire and easy to drive along the motorway from Alicante airport to the quiet and beautiful modern urbanisation built on the side of a mountain, facing the sea.

The large swimming pool is two minutes stroll up the road and I frequently had it all to myself. The local beach is rocky and unspoilt, mainly frequented by locals as it is a bit off the beaten track and is probably the prettiest beach in the area. If you want sand and cafes, you need to drive to Moraira with its colourful market or to Calpe for a more cosmopolitan beach experience. Or go exploring up in the mountains, try wine tasting or sampling the local specialities in restaurants the tourists don't know about. The English owners of the property, Andy and Tanya, who live upstairs, will always give you recommendations for their favourite places.

The apartment was spotlessly clean with everything you could need, including outdoor area with table and chairs. The rooms are very light and airy and you could quite easily cook for a small family in the kitchen/living room although we chose to go out or have a barbecue most of the time. The Chinese restaurant just up the road was good, although I preferred the more typical Spanish restaurants we found when we were out and about. There isn't much in the way of bustling night life in the immediate vicinity and I wouldn't recommend it to those who want to party the night away every night, but if you want a quiet and scenic base with all home comforts, welcoming hosts and lovely places to visit, then you should enjoy this property, as we did.

Owner's Response: This review aptly sums up the area and surroundings where our guests stay. We were very surprised to receive a bougainvillea plant (which is now in the garden) as a thank you present from Steve & Rachel for having such a lovely holiday experience.
We send our thanks to both of them, and hope to see them again.
Andy & Tanya.

Having just spent a perfect fortnight at Andy and Tanya's apartment in Cumbre del Sol, Benitachell I would like to recommend the apartment to other visitors. We arrived and were met by Andy and Tanya. The apartment was superb - spotlessly clean, well equipped and extremely comfortable. The apartment is near an excellent Chinese restaurant and five minutes drive to a supermarket. Andy and Tanya are a delightful couple, who live in the apartment above, and were always there to help. The apartment is in a beautiful setting and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in great comfort.

Lovely Quiet Retreat - Thoroughly Recommended

Review Submitted: June 13, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
After a fantastic time in 2007 we returned for a second time in May 2008. We were welcomed by the owners, Andy and Tanya, as if we were their long lost friends. As we expected the appartment was still as beautiful as the year before, with yet even more improvements made. Nothing is missing, everything we could of wanted was provided.

The location, is lovely and quiet with beautiful sea views, The sunny veranda captured the last of the evening sun, and was perfect to sit with a book and a G&T whilst staring out to sea.

PERFECT - COULDNT FAULT IT - Secret hideaway !!!

Owner's Response: It is always nice to see guests again, as the second time the ice has been broken and you feel you have a new set of friends. Very nice people. We were pleased they liked the improvements.
