Lovely and relaxing

We arrived at Lime Villa, a little tired but excited, we were met by Yvette, who showed us around and gave us a quick run down on how things worked.
Then promptly jumped into the pool....
The Villa was clean and tidy, well furnished and comfortable. We had some shopping delivered before we arrived which was good as the supermarket is in Holetown and is a bit of a walk. But they do have a free courtesy shuttle bus back, so no need to carry shopping.
The nearest beach is quiet but beautiful, but we tended to go to Holetown and visit the beach behind the police station. This has a bar restaurant and a steel band on Sunday eve.
Although there are always taxis available I would recomend hiring a car, as the villa is located 2 Kilometers from the supermarket and shops in Holetown and walking at night is a bit dodgy on the winding roads, this also gave us the advantage of being able to explore Barbados at our leisure.
Surfside bar is excellent value for money and most of the traders are very friendly and will talk to you forever even if you dont buy anything.
We visited the nature reserve and watched the monkeys feeding and the tortoises being "busy",
We tried Jet skis, great fun,
Malibu Factory and beach was a good day out even though it rained,
All in all we had great time and would deffinately return to Lime Villa for another holiday.

Owner's Response: I would recommend that a car is hired as Barbados has so many things to see and enjoy. A trip to the dramatic East Coast to see the Atlantic side of Barbados is spectacular.
However if you are looking to just relax around the pool and visit only the nearby beaches and the occasional restaurant, it is worth considering using Taxis for the few journeys you might make. Taxis are reasonable, reliable and the drivers make excellent tour guides and you will see sights you might never discover driving yourself in a hired car.
Car hire is best arranged prior to making the trip especially at peak times , Christmas, Easter, CropOver as the Island has limited availability at these times.
The beach at Holetown is nice and has bars and restaurants but also try to get to some of the quieter beaches, such as Gibbs Beach or Bottom Bay and you will believe that you are really on "Robinson Crusoes Island".
