This top floor appartment with two balconies is very comfortable, stylish and well placed. Although set ina peaceful slot, with outlook onto the mountains, trees, near a gushing river, it's easy walking distance to the town centre restaurants and shops. There is a nearby bus stop for trips to the station (which has a directline to Salzburg). We had a summer, family holiday with a 15 and an 18 year old and had a fantastic time, visiting spectacular waterfalls(don't miss the amazing gorge - the Leichtensteinklamm and the Golling Waterfall (wear waterproofs!), taking the gondolas (from nearby Wagrain and Alpendorf) up mountains, to walk the trails (Take the Flying Mozart up from Wagrain and enjoy a two and a half hour walk back down to StJohann Alpendorf), driving the Hochalpenstrasse, to walk on the 9kms Pasterzen glacier (some of the world's most amazing views en route!), visiting athe world's oldest salt mine and a charnel house containing 600 skulls at Hallstatt (beautiful lake setting), and the Salzburg festival. Best to take the train into Salzburg and enjoy street musicians and browsing the boutiques. Mozart's birthplace has his original violins but , otherwise, it's an artisitc interpretation of his life. We only stayed a week and didn't have time to swim in the lake or visit the famous ice caves. Evenings we played on the Wii Sports and ate out at Platzl (excellent Schnitzels, soups, chicken wings and elegant desserts and cocktails, inside and outside dining, 70 Euros for four of us) in StJohann ,though the open plan kitchen at the appartment is fully equipped. In summary, it' a lovely, brand new, comfortable and relaxing appartment, nicely positionned in a lovely town, in a very interesting area. Even our teenagers thoroughly enjoyed it! Can't wait to return for ski-ing!
