Cozy Parisian Apartment

Review Submitted: June 25, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Staying here was far better than in an hotel. The apartment was amazingly well equipped with amenities even beyond everything mentioned on the website. It definitely felt like home for the duration of our trip to Paris. Location is ideal -- quiet neighborhood, most big attractions are a short metro ride away (two museums are within walking distance). There are so many little cafes and bakeries and even multiple supermarkets (including an organic one) that we would just pick a different direction each time we set out. It was great having the kitchen and washer/dryer there, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the hairdryer worked (I am spoiled and have a professional quality one at home). I even liked one of the CDs so much I had to buy my own copy. The owner was helpful and friendly during coordination of the visit, and I have no complaints whatsoever!

Owner's Response: Thank you for this great review. I am so pleased you had a good stay! I am happy that you appreciated the appartment as I really did put a lot of attention and efforts in many details to make it truly comfortable.

Le Marais apartment

Review Submitted: April 29, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
My husband and I, Americans in our mid-60's, stayed in this apt for 10 days in April. It was a comfortable, newly renovated 1 BR, decorated in a sophisticated, modern Ikea style. We particularly liked its well-furnished kitchen and fast Internet connection.(though it would be convenient to have a small desk, with chair, to place our computer on rather than using the high dining counter. )

It's in a great location, with many small shops plus several larger supermarkets are a stone's throw away. The nearest bus stop was about 50 yards with good north-south routes going across the Seine, and the east-west bus stop heading toward downtown was about 75 yards. The public bus that mimics the tourist trail double decker buses, Bus 69, stops nearby at the Hotel de Ville. Two major Metro stops, one outside the Pompidou Center, were within 300 yards. For walkers, the Seine and Notre Dame southward are about 3/4 of a mile stroll, and heading eastward Place Bastille is about a mile. 5 major museums are in very short walking distance.

The owner answered all questions by email, and provides a complete "visitors' book" with instructions for operating the appliances, including the unitary washer-dryer, not a familiar item to Americans. The apt was spotless when we arrived and had basic staples. Our security deposit was refunded within 3 days of our departure. We would stay there again and highly recommend it for 2 people. I would ask for a second key; there was only one, which required more coordination between my husband and me than usual.

Favorite attractions in this area: the museums Carnavalet, Picasso, Jewish History, Arts and Metiers, the Archives National, and the Pompidou.Churches: St Eustache near Les Halles, with its overlooked Rubens in Apse 6, or the nearby lovely Fountain des Innocents, the only remaining Renaissance fountain in Paris. Finally, this area is the wholesale district for high-style handbags, shoes, and jewelry; you'll get a visual treat just walking around the block.

We would return again tomorrow if we could! It was very good value for the money, and exceeded our expectations.

Excellent location and well worth it

Review Submitted: April 19, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We were a bit uneasy renting an apartment via a website. However the experience and correspondence with the owner has been all positive. We stayed a week in April 2009 and loved this place. The living room is the center of activity with comfortable and appropriate furnishings and Internet. The kitchen with coffee maker, washer/dryer and dishwasher was modern and well equipped to prepare meals. Bedroom was very comfortable and adequate space and temporary storage. The location is fantastic for access to bakeries, subways, and easy walk to Pompidoux Ctr, Hotel deVille, Isle de la cite. and Notre Dame. Great find.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful apartment

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in the Marais apartment. It was fantastically located - 2 minutes from the heart of the Marais for bars, restaurants and shops, 2 minutes from the Pompidou Centre for some culture, and gentle walk to the Ile St Louis and Latin Quarter. Marvellous. The flat was a delight - comfortable and warm (when it was wet and windy outside) with a huge sofa, a well equipped kitchen (we even did some washing!), and a lovely bathroom.
Thank you Severine, we'll come again.

The apartment was amazing, well equipped with quality appliances and all other necessities, immaculate and comfortable (even with 2 small kids). Centrally located, close to many attractions, amenities (stores, restaurants, cafes and metro stations, etc.). The neighbourhood was safe and quiet, very friendly neighbours. We spent an amazing week in Paris and would definitely stay in this lovely apartment again. The owner was very friendly, helpful and well organized (the formality was a breeze). Would recommend to anyone!

Thank you Severine!

Not very familiar with English so excuse any fault. Severine is a very attentive person, the reservation time was very quiet. Then the appartment: acceding was simple, and then following the instructions was easy too. The appartment is very pleasant, with full installations. It's spacious and comfortable.

Very good location, well located furthermore.

Thanks Severine!

The perfect bolthole

Review Submitted: December 9, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2008
We stayed in the apartment for a week in early December and loved it.

It was everything we hoped from the description and more. In particular we were very comfortable and warm inside when it was cold and damp out and it was always a pleasure to return to. It is compact and bijou with quality furniture and fittings and the owner was a pleasure to deal with.

The location was perfect for transport to and from Charles de Gaulle airport and exploring with many of the sights just a short walk away.

Localisation A1

Delightful pied a terre in great area

CA & MA Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Review Submitted: April 13, 2008 Date of Stay: March 2008
Charming, well equipped apartment in a lovely old block, complete with small, creaking lift! A lovely mix of contemporary and art deco furnishings. Very comfy sofa bed makes it perfect for two people who want separate beds and some nice touches such as lots of fluffy white towels, pretty china, even CDs.

This was perfect for a few days to really feel like a Parisian - not a tourist. The location was ideal - close to the Pompidou Centre, Marais, Les Halles and handy for two Metro stops. Within walking distance were plenty of good bars, restaurants and a bakery just round the corner for morning croissants.

This newly refurbished flat was clean and well maintained. The owner was helpful and very easy to deal with - even ringing to check that all was OK when we arrived. Great instructions for accessing the appartment.

We would recommend this to anyone looking for a little bolt hole in a safe, yet vibrant part of the city. Beats staying in a hotel - we loved it and will be back!
