A bit of heaven on earth...

Mrs T Surrey
Review Submitted: March 12, 2008 Date of Stay: February 2008
Five stars. This is a peaceful and extremely comfortable retreat from the busy world we live in, and well worth the 6 hour drive from Surrey to get there.

Local people here are all so friendly and helpful. There is obviously plenty to see and do in the area, especially in high season - we visited in February and some things were shut - so we'd love to return in the summer months. However even in low season you will not be at a loss for interesting days out and the most beautiful countryside to enjoy. Besides you have the cottage to return to - and that is a real treat.

My daughter (7) cried as we left - and I don't blame her - there was a little bit of each of us that wanted to stay forever. We all recommend this cottage without any hesitation - I am certain you will adore it as much as we did. It was a joy to stay here.
Owner's Response: Thank you - we have really tried to create a special retreat with everything you need for a perfect holiday. There are more plans over the coming year for further improvement so watch this space!

Family weekend away Bryn Goleu

R+K Family weekend North Wales
Review Submitted: November 24, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
Bryn Goleu was the location chosen to celebrate my 60th birthday weekend with my family. I couldn't have chosen a better property. From the minute we arrived we were all totally impressed with the cottage. The quality and finish is a credit to you both. We enjoyed the large comfy settees and the inviting log burner.
The large well equipped kitchen provided an ideal opportunity for those leisurely breakfasts.
The cottage is large and provided us with everything we could have wished for. There was ample space for us all including two very active 6yr olds.
The outside space is also ideal with ample parking on the drive alongside the cottage. The property is ideally situated for visiting the local beaches, we managed to take in Abersoch, Hells Mouth and Morfa Nefyn during our stay.
This cottage provides first class accommodation in an ideal location, with spectacular views. I would highly recommend it.

Perfect Hideaway

Had a wonderful autumn break at this superb property. Although there were only 4 of us it would also be perfect for a larger family getaway. Spectacular views from the cottage, in particular from the superbly appointed kitchen. Secluded location provided peace and privacy. The large settee and woodburner were perfect after a day on the beach or in the mountains. A wide range of quality restaurants in Abersoch and a fantastic Fish and Chip shop in Pwhelli. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Perfect getaway

Very spacious, homely and enjoyable. Well equipt, we had everything we needed. Beautiful surroundings. Great direction given to remote location. Great pubs just a short drive away, please book if you want to eat as we found it very hard to find a table during the bank holiday. Thank you Jenny for providing an excellent getaway.

Kate, the other 9 adults and 3 children who enjoyed thier time in the cottage (the toy box was well used)

Great cottage with fantastic views

Review Submitted: September 29, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Cottage is well furnished with an excellent kitchen (second bathroom does need updating, as previous review, but not a issue has the main bathroom was great). Fantastic views. Good location, though quite isolated (a feature as far as we were concerned), for exploring Llyn Penninsular. Owners were very helpful and responded quikly to email.
Owner's Response: The second bathroom is due to be updated together with the shower room in Nov 2009 when I am sure you will agree it will truly be 5*! The cottage is rural as stated in the advert but I have to disagree with the writer as it is not isolated to explore the Llyn as it is nearly in the middle of the Penninsular and takes 10 - 15 minutes to travel to most of the popular resorts - Abersoch, Morfa Nefyn, Pwllheli, Aberdaron as has been mentioned in other reviews.

Fabulous location, stunning views

Review Submitted: September 19, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We had wonderful family holiday at Bryn Goleu. The property is spacious, clean and of a very high standard. The kitchen is a dream for cooks and special family time with high bar stools that go up and down - loved by the kids. The lounge with woodburner and the best sofa ever were a real treat in a holiday home! We climbed the mountain behind the cottage with a 3 and 2 year old and were treated to the best view we have ever seen. Lots of fab beaches within 15 mins, highly recommend Whistling Sands. We had a great family holiday and will be back - a big thanks to Bryn and Jenny for sharing their wonderful home with us.

Simply the Best

The T Family Surrey
Review Submitted: July 13, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
This cottage deserves all the five star reviews. We rent many cottages in Britain and France and this is one of the very best. The cottage is really beautiful and a credit to its owners - who are very helpful and delightful to deal with.

This was our second visit and this time we were able to enjoy North Wales in summer. The garden in summer is the most wonderful place to start and end the day - the wildlife, the view of the sea and the hills beneath you are picture postcard stuff.

There was so much to do and see in the area that we will certainly be back again - it is the perfect place for a family holiday offering something for everyone - from beaches to mountains - adventure playgrounds to historic castles.

I do think you need a car to make the most of the area, and when driving I recommend sticking strictly to the speed limits. There is no rush and the scenary is breath taking. We came home to a speeding fine for doing just over 30 in a 30 limit - something that everyone does where we are in South England. The North Wales police we found out later are very hot on speeding and we learnt our lesson. ;0) So drive slowly and enjoy what is bound to be a fantastic holiday. A rental property of this standard is hard to find - and hard to leave! My daughter cried again when we left. I recommend it highly and without hesitation.

Large and beautifully presented peaceful cottage

We had a wonderful week-end stay at the cottage. It would have been difficult to find had it not been for the excellent directions. It is located in a lovely rural and peaceful location, surrounded by fields with spectacular views in all directions. We went with another family and were 9 people in all, and there was plenty of room for everybody. We went to 3 beaches while we were there, each one being around 15-20 min drive from the cottage (you can choose whether you go North, South, or West from the cottage - we tried all 3!). We all agreed that we would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful cottage holiday. The cottage is almost fully renovated with just the shower room and single W.C. not having been updated. Made no difference to the holiday though as the kitchen, main bathroom, bedrooms and all living areas are beautifully renovated.

Thanks for the lovely stay!

10 out of 10 - The Perfect Welsh Getaway!!!

Review Submitted: January 6, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
In a nutshell - Perfect Bliss!!

Staying at Bryn Goleu was the perfect way to spend the New Yew with close friends and family – one we’ll never forget! Waking up each morning to views across Hells Mouth to the south and 360◦ of rolling countryside were just breath taking.

We were a party of 8 adults and it didn’t feel cramped what so ever! The size and layout of the cottage was perfect. The majority of the bedrooms are tucked away to the rear of the house allowing guests to continue to enjoy the log fire for as late as they wanted whilst not disturbing the early birds! The cottage has obviously been done to a very high spec especially the kitchen! That huge oven really came into play when cooking a roast dinner for eight!

Bryn Goleu cottage is also superbly situated for walking enthusiasts like us as there are reachable beaches by foot to the north, west, south and east. And as there’s no light pollution, by night the sky is scattered with stars – it was perfect for spotting an array of constellations!

The only down side I can think of was that the pictures on the Holiday Lets website did not do the cottage enough justice! It was so much bigger and prettier than we imagined - We were blown away so much that we didn’t want to leave this peaceful retreat. We are already talking about returning for New Years next year!

Myself and all other members of my party would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to the owners of Bryn Goleu for creating this wonderful getaway!

5 STARS! * * * * *
