JUST LOOK AT THE PICTURES - THIS IS REAL :-)

Review Submitted: August 31, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We spent a fantastic week, 2 families with 4 teenagers. Although there are only 2 real bedrooms we managed very well, the kids sleeping together and the holiday atmosphere was just great.
The living space is very big and various. Everyone can easily find a fabulous spot to relax, play games, play guitar in the hamoc, making BBq, read, cook & eat, and "aperitiving "
The tropical garden is very relaxing too with lot's of flower varieties making it very colorful and the pool was just a dream. The house is just how we like it ; big, sober, sweet, very tasteful and local-like. Aeolus is just very romantic and "feel good" place where we had a fantastic time with our friends.
We recommend a car to move around, to go to the blue caves and the shipwreck with PETER who has a glass bottom boat. You can book a trip at the little yellow house on the little street going to the port.
PS : It's very difficult to find fresh mint on the island for Mojitos ;-(
Loads and loads of thanks to you Sharon, to share your house, your little paradise.
and thanks also to very nice Barbara who took very good care of us .. and the pool .

Owner's Response: Hi there, although Annick refers to two bedrooms there are actually three with the seaside /loft room, that is a real hit with younger children. Downstairs the futons are large and very comfortable. Barbara is my house manager who is on call for all my clients 24/7.
Thanks for a great review.XXX. Owner.

Great tasteful house set in beautiful garden with

We got to Aelous with our three children age 8, 6 + 11 months after a few hot and tedious days in the peleponese. As we live in Italy and rent out ourselves we have rather high expectationsof where we spend time away from our home. We were well rewarded by the tastful house with its spacious kitchen and excellent outdoor cooking facility. The pool sits in a well designed garden with lush geraniums wich radiate beautiful cents (smells) where ever. The palmtrees and the bouganville give a tropical atmosphere. The bedroom terrace invites for the perfect sundowner waching the sun vanish in the Ionian sea.
The village, though hardly inhabitated has a charm by itself with the small grocery store that carries almost everything one needs and the farmer not far from the house who sells wine, honey and oil along the side of the street
From the house one can walk to either the lighthouse and parting point of boat cruises or to the little harbor village of San Nikolao with restaurants and small shops, or one takes a picknick along climbing the hills behind the house with even more spectacular views of Zakynthos and the island of Kefalonia.
Though we did some excursions on the island we felt quite happy to enjoy Aelus with its pool, various sitting possibilities under ancient olive trees and cooking greek specialities in the open bbq hut place.
We liked the northern part where Aeolus is located much more than any other place of the island.

We can strongly recomend the house for anyone. We might come back soon.
Cheers, Kaya

Idyllic, Luxurious and Beautiful Villa

Review Submitted: June 12, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Quite simply the most idyllic, luxurious and beautiful villa we have ever stayed in, set in stunning surroundings. We really couldn't think of one thing we would change about Aeolus, absolutely perfect in every way. Loads of living space, beautiful terraces, fantastic pool all set within an ancient olive grove, secluded and private walled gardens. Paradise ! Location great too, lovely port only a few minutes away with plenty of local tavernas to choose from. Stunning scenery, lots of 'must see' locations. We will definately come back, tomorrow wouldn't be too soon !

Having just arrived back in England after a much needed family holiday at Aeolus and Stavlo; I am quite reluctant to tell all about this absolute Gem, for fear of losing my opportunity next year. This beautiful home and its' equally beautiful setting is truly authentic and very organic. I can, quite honestly say, I have never felt more relaxed during a holiday. An absolute tonic!.

The perfect place to unwind...

Review Submitted: September 18, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
Three of us spent a week at Aeolus/Stavlo and such a relaxing time - it's the perfect place to unwind and relax. The villa is in a stunning location in the mountains with views of the sea and across the island, away from the lively tourist resorts of the south. An ideal base for exploring the Blue Caves, Shipwreck Cove and the caves and coves of the island.
The photos don't quite do the place justice somehow - there is so much space and the terraced gardens and terraces on the house give Aeolus a very relaxed and unique feel. The villa is really spacious with everything you could need and the fresh bread, milk and wine waiting for us on arrival was a really nice touch!

Greece as it should be

Review Submitted: June 24, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Probably the best villa we've stayed in. Really great views, private, romantic, and away from the tourists which was ideal for us. Plenty of room downstairs and around the pool which was great for us with our 1 year old as we could put him in the shade and let him play. Good local tavernas are only a short drive away with more stunning views. Should have booked for 2 weeks.

A lovely Greek holiday!

Review Submitted: June 17, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
My friends and I wanted a week of stress-busting summer relaxation in rural Greece with our own private pool and we found it here at Aeolus/Stavlo. Nestled in a small village (Korithi), the reconstructed stone house is set in beautiful gardens laid out on different levels and surrounding the really beautiful swimming pool. There's loads of space and places to sit with great views and it's a perfect haven to just chill - we only went on a few excursions to Shipwreck Bay, Xigia beach and Spiros' supermarket in Katastari and the rest of the time we were happy to stay put at 'home'! The house is in the relatively unspoilt northern tip of Zakynthos, away from the main tourist centres of the south - so the closest tourist resort is Alykes (30 mins drive) which also has the nearest sandy beach.
In short, we had a lovely time and all of us would like to go back. The owners, Sharon and Martin, have created a pretty hideaway that has a good mix of Greek style and comfort.
