Fabulous vacation.

Review Submitted: May 19, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
My husband and I rented a villa with my parents for their 30th wedding anniversary in April 2009 and we all had a blast.
The villa was spectacular - it was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The maids and pool boy came everyday and kept it clean all week.
The VIP beach and VIP world/pool was something out of the movies. We felt like movie stars all week and were treated like 'gold'.
Having access to the resort amenities was a great bonus.
We ate at most of the restaurants - some were better than others, but overall good.
We went to Ocean World and the Casino – both very fun.
The VIP party was amazing – great food, drinks, dancing, and fireworks too!
Dealing with Wendy to rent the villa was very easy. We would recommend this villa to anyone that is looking for a fabulous vacation.

It was okay, but not the greatest.

First of all, Wendy is amazing to work with! I had sooo many questions for her throughout the booking process and she had quick responses which made her very easy to work with.

We flew into Santiago to try to save on the cost of flying into Puerto Plata. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!! We ended up paying an additional $115 each way to get to the resort and back to the airport. First thought to rent a car...glad we didn't do that!! The driving is crazy and chaotic...I would NOT recommend it! Pay the extra money to fly into Puerto Plata and take advantage of the FREE airport pickup.

Next, the food....not so good. We tried out all the restaurants...none were horrible, but none were real great. The best food we found was at the VIP pool bar...sandwiches and french fries were great...stay away from the overcooked hamburgers. Breakfast cooked daily in your room is the same thing day after day, so don't get too excited about that...omelets, danish, toast, fruit, pre-made pancakes and french toast on occasion. Bring your Immodium!!! There were 4 of us on this trip...3 got food poisoning! Not me, and I'm the only one who didn't eat the seafood. There were others we met who ate the seafood, though, and they didn't seem to get sick, but be prepared, just in case!

The villa: They first put us in a really small, cramped up villa with not much room to move. We went to the front desk and requested another, which they gave us. We ended up in a much bigger, nicer place...only complaint was the outdated plumbing...and no water pressure!! Also to note, it says there are 3 rooms all with King beds, but one of the rooms in our villa only had a queen. This didn't affect us because that room was unused, but keep in mind if this is a requirement of yours. Just remember that the pictures you see on this website and the Lifestyle Hacienda website are the newer, bigger, nicer villas...not what you get through here.

Beware the timeshare people. They will come to your villa to ask if you want a "tour" of the resort....this is their way of getting you suckered into a 4-hour presentation at the end of which the head honcho guy gets a little perturbed that you are rejecting his offer to buy in. And for this 4 hours all you get is 2 bottles of the start of Mamajuana (their famous drink) that you aren't even allowed to bring home on the plane with you!

All in all, an okay vacation, but will not go back.

P.S. Make sure a golf cart is included!!

WOW!! Amazing Vacation Amazing Owner, Wendy

Tourist from Vegas Las Vegas
Review Submitted: July 21, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
4 adults just returned from this absolutely perfect vacation. We stayed in Wendy's villa from July 11th till July 18th. Allow me to give you a brief description:

I probably bombarded Wendy Williams with close to 50 emails prior to and after booking this resort. Each email was responded to within an average of 10 minutes. She was polite and courteous and her follow up skills were impecable. I would book again thru this wonderful lady in a second. Believe me, I was not an easy customer because I am extremely cautious and thorough. But Wendy made me feel 100% confident that everything she promised me in her advertisement here would be accurate. Guess what? It was. This vacation was everything she claimed it would be. So do not panic. Paradise awaits you.

We were picked up at the airport and taken to the check-in. A fresh fruit sangria was handed to us and we were in our amazing ocean view villa in 15 minutes. Easy!

The golf cart was delivered within 2 hours and the pool was sparkling clean as well as the Villa. It had just received a fresh coat of paint and the furniture was modern. Three employees stopped by within the first hour just to see if we needed anything. The refrigerator was well stocked with Presidente Beer as well as a variety of sodas and water. If there was something else needed it was just a phone call away to VIP Customer Service.

We mainly hung out at the VIP Beach and VIP Pool because of the views and the premium booze. The beds on the beach were extremely comfortable and the water was blue and clean. The VIP pool also had comfortable beds as well. Because of our VIP status, we were treated like Kings and Queens wherever we went. There were others that did not have VIP status who quite honestly could not even get a bottle of water delivered to their room.

We were asked to go on a brief tour of the property (sales pitch) and we agreed on one condition. They had to deliver us bottles of Vodka and Rum as well as all of the mixers to our villa. They were there within 30 minutes and we went on the no pressure tour the next day. We did not buy. Why? No need. Just rent from Wendy.

Breakfast was cooked every morning in the Villa and lunch was eaten poolside or beach side. Just order off the menu and it is delivered with a smile.

The Asian restaurant was bad but every other restaurant was great. If I could do it all over again, I would eat in the Gourmet Room every night. Best food with A/C!

Relaxing Getaway

Review Submitted: March 30, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
My boyfriend and I went to Lifestyle Villas resort for Spring Break this year. Our vacation was amazing. It was the perfect combination of relaxation and fun. We went with two other couples and shared a three-bedroom villa. The villa was beautiful. Our room had a private balcony, and the villa had a private pool. The staff was unmatched. Our housekeeper came every morning to clean the villa and make us breakfast. Then later in the day our fridge would get restocked with any drinks we requested. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also felt very secure considering there was a security guard at every corner of every street at the resort. As far as the resort goes, the only complaint I have is that the food wasn't the greatest. We found many things we enjoyed very much, especially the gourmet restaurants, but sometimes it was hit or miss. The Italian restaurant was our favorite.

The beach and pool areas were amazing, and the spa is definitely worth the extra expense. My boyfriend and I had deep tissue massages on the beach which was great! We also went horseback riding through the Dominican country one afternoon, and friends of ours went to the waterfalls. This is the perfect resort if you want a good mix of entertainment and time to just lay by the pool.

When I set up the trip, Wendy was very helpful and easy to work with. All my questions or concerns were always answered, and I would recommend her to anyone planning to visit this resort. I plan to return in the future.

WE HAD A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review Submitted: March 19, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
9 of us stayed in Villa 8 which was a 5 bedroom Villa with it's own private pool! It was my birthday so I and my partner stayed in the master suite that was located off the Villa in it's own little world but still a part of Villa 8!

They were very accomadating. 2 out of 9 of us actually got there on the 8th as planned but because of the snow storms along the east coast, the rest of us got in the next day or so. They picked us up from the airport and took us straight to VIP reception! That's where we checked in, paid our all inclusive rates & was served cocktails while we awaited everything to be processed. We also recieved a golf cart for our villa which made for quick runs to the late night buffet and such.
They kept our fridges stocked with water, soda's and beer. We had breakfast every morning in our villa by 10 a.m. because that's what time we asked for since we never went to sleep sometimes....lol! Our little corner store, is what I called it...lol, was right around the corner for us to purchase lil snacky stuff or alcohol should we decide we wanted to stay in the Villa! They were super friendly there! Its the little store next to the first aide station and the mexican restaurant.

We made great use of our all inclusive. I didn't have any food that I didn't like but I was also very choosey about what I ate.
We did venture down to Ocean World where we saw, Bravissimo, there Vegas style show. It was great! Costumes were awesome and I saw a pair of shoes on those girls that were to die for. I'm gonna find them somewhere...lol! But while we watched the show, the staff kept the beverages flowing! It was wonderful!
All in all, I would go back.

This holiday has re-written my standards for all inclusive. Yes the villas are luxuriously appointed, with en-suites, air con, etc etc, and also a huge kitchen, but, what for? With staff cooking for you at breakfast, and the choice of 4 + restaurants for all other meals, the last thing you would want to do is go near a kitchen! Entertainment ranging from the huge welcome party on Sundays (spit roast suckling pigs, lobsters, prawns, oh, stop it!) to the shows at the coliseum, plus the beach with its individual beds and shades with carefully rolled towels and tentative bar staff will see the most tense of persons, melt into total relaxation within a matter of hours. We enjoyed immensely the dune buggy safari, but be warned, wear something old as you will get a wee bit dirty. (good clean Dominican rep mud). Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who are always smiling, and of course, once you have paid your all inclusive fees you needn’t put your hand in your pocket (We left a tip at the end of the week for our maid, who thoroughly deserved it) I will be doing an Arnie on this one, i.e. I’ll be back!
