Girls Chill Out Week Sept 09

Doris19 Poole
Review Submitted: October 14, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
Five of us travelled to Spain at the beginning of Sept. We found the villa spotless and in an ideal location for the town and beach but far enough away to be totally relaxing and a real home from home.

We knew before we went to the villa that Helen the owner lived next door, but this was perfect as if required she was on hand to help out with any questions or problems. However she never invaded our space unless invited. We had a short power cut one evening and Helen was straight round to sort it out which was g8.

The villa and pool and superbly maintained and the facilities are really good.

We had a lovely week there and woudl not hesitate to return or recommend this property.

Thanks Helen for your hospitality

Perfect holiday destination!

I stayed in this villa for 2 weeks last year with my 3 hyperactive chilldren, my husband and my parents. We found that the facilities more than measured up to the description and photos on the website. The villa itself was immaculately clean and very well maintained with plenty of room (and privacy suprisingly when there with the whole family!) The kids adored the pool, as did we, particularly the comfy sun loungers where I spent many a happy hour reading my books. We were slightly concerned before we arrived as m father is phsicaly disabled but we found the local taxi service excellent for him and we were only a few minutes walk from the local restaurants and beach. A good tip, the local supermarket delivers for a very small charge and are very friendly. I must give special mention to the owner who very kindly took my husband to the dentist when he developed a bad toothache and even translated for him! I am definitely going back and in fact have booked 2 weeks for next year!

Great villa. Service with a smile

We really enjoyed our two week stay in June 09. The villa is in a lovely quiet area. It was well kept and very clean as was the pool and outside area. It was reassuring to have the owner so close at hand while also keeping our privacy in case anything went wrong but thank goodness nothing did!! Helen, the owner, couldn't do enough for us and it was great to have the lift arranged from the airport without the hassle of getting a taxi.
It's a really pretty area with a five minute walk one way to the nearest supermarket and five minutes the other way down to the main street with all the cafes, shops and bars and a little further on is the beach if you don't fancy making the trek in to Benidorm.
All in all, a very relaxing pleasant stay and I can say for certain we'll be back again. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday.

Fantastic value for money

I stayed at this villa in May 2009, this is the 4th year we have stayed and will be returning for a 5th stay in May 2010. The is a beautifully kept villa in a peaceful location, it has everything we could possibly have needed both inside and out to enjoy our stay.
The owner 'Helen' and her family constantly went out of their way to make us feel welcome so don't be put off by the owner living next door, we had complete privacy during our stay and yet when needed Helen was only a call away. Nothing was ever too much trouble, her customer service was second to none.

The villa adequately sleeps 8 and there are plenty of clean towels and bed linen for everyone. There are sun loungers at the pool which we used to relax, unwind, chill and of course get a tan! The villa even boasts an outside fridge to keep the wine chilled!

I recommend you try the 'square' in Altea for a pleasant evening out, or if you prefer something more lively Benidorm is a 10 minute taxi ride away.

I will continue to recommend this property to family and friends and look forward to my next stay.

Best Holiday Ever

Review Submitted: October 5, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We first decided to rent this villa for my daughters 18th birthday for 4 adults and 4 teens.
We visited the area a year before and decided to take a look at the villa. After a phone call to the owner, Helen, she drove down to the town, picked us up in her car and showed us around the villa, providing us with plenty of information on the area- supermarkets, taxis etc.
On arrival of our weeks holiday, we were again greeted by Helen, this time with bottled water, ice lollies, cold juice and other basic items.
The villa itself is beautiful with a large well maintained pool. (Pool Cleaner arrived mid-week) The villa is spotlessly clean and could not be faulted.
The kitchen and barbeque area are well equipt which we took full advantage of.
We particularly liked that the villa is in a quiet area but was only a short walk away from the town centre and bus stops.
There were plenty of good bars and restaurants in Albir especially along the sea front which at night is beautiful and comes to life.
The only fault we could all find was that one week on holiday was not long enough.
We have booked again for next August, this time for two weeks.
Cant wait!

Invasion of privacy

Review Submitted: September 15, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
My family and I (including 2 young children) have just returned from this villa feeling very disappointed with a eagerly anticipated family reunion.
We received a pleasant welcome from the owner's son on arrival and paid him 50 euros for air conditioning to the four bedrooms.
On looking around the villa we saw a variety of negative notices including "the swimming pool can be used from the hours of 0700-2100-outside of these hours it is totally forbidden.
Overhead fan must NOT be used in conjunction with the air conditioning" .

Our bedding consisted of a top and bottom sheet only.We are used to having the choice of a lightweight quilt both at home and in other villas we have stayed in in the past..

The weather was extremely hot so we left one of the a/c units for the children on when we left the villa on Monday evening. On our return we found the following note from the owner.
"Sorry I wasn't here on Sat to let you in & give you instructions on the CORRECT use of the Air Conditioning system in the villa.
When you're OUT all the machines must be OFF. If on your return you need the machines on please do so but keep all the doors & windows closed. Electricity in Spain is very expensive & I hope you comply with this. It's instantly cold when you switch the machines on so therefore it's a terrible waste if you're not even in the house. the same applies to the FAN in the living room it remains off when you're OUT".

The owner of the property had entered the villa at least twice while we were out which we felt very upset about.
Although the owner lived behind the villa we had no further contact with her and believe she did not provide good customer service.

Other problems we had included two shelves missing from the inside door of the fridge which restricted the amount of drinks we could keep cool, and a faulty wired bedside lamp which kept tripping out the electricity until my husband repaired it. Although the description of the villa stated there was a garage this was not available for renter's cars. Cars had to be left outside the villa on the road.
A notice in the villa stated there was an extra charge for the safe, cot and high cair and the TV. This was not included in the web description or in any communication with the owner.
I would not recommend this villa to friends.
Owner's Response: I have advertised for 7 years with this web site & so far all my guests have been more than happy with the villa, pool & my customer service skills. There is a Guest Book in the villa where guests leave their comments & many repeat their stay over the years.
The pool is operational for 14 hours per day. The overhead fans were installed before the a/c units & now all guests have a choice of fans or paying extra for a/c. I reassure guests about the correct use of a/c & how it's not necessary to leave it on when there's no one in the villa as on returning it gets cool in 3 - 4 minutes. The use of a winter duvet of 13.5 togs found in a wardrobe is totally not acceptable when the outside temperature is at 28 degrees. The machines make a noise outside therefore I was concerned that the guests had gone out & not switched off. My suprise when on entering the house a duvet was on a bed waiting to be used . I was alerted by a power cut we'd had & wanted to make sure all was well in the house. My first concern is the safety & well being of my guests & as the owner & key holder of this property I entered to make sure all was OK, no other reason. The faulty wiring on the lamp should have been reported to me as it clearly states in the Villa Manual left for all the guests to read. The garage is not available to guests as the outside parking is safe & adequate. The garage has all the swimming pool machinery & therefore not safe for children etc. The extra charges are for TV & this is met with relief from lots of parents of young children who don't want them watching UK TV all holiday. I hope this answers all the points. My aim is to be as friendly & helpful as possible & that my guests have the best holiday ever here in this lovely part of the world.
