Rave Reviews for Trivalle Distric Apt

Sue & Steve New Mexico, USA
Review Submitted: March 12, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
This wonderful townhouse in the Trivalle district of Carcassonne has everything one could need or want in a holiday rental -- right down to the picnic basket and day trip cooler. The flat is very well equipped and beautifully fitted out, including a lovely top level eating area for warm summer evenings. The washer/dryer are a plus for long-term visitors. The neighborhood has bakeries, restaurants, wine shops, newsstands and, of course, the La Cite (all within easy walking distance). The 'newer old city' (Bastide) is a pleasant 10 minute walk -- the pleasantries of a city neighborhood without the hussle & bustle of the heavy traffic. Owner is the perfect landlord -- there when you need him, absent when things runs smoothly (which they do because he has prepared this property very well) ... he lives nearby. You and your family cannot ask for a more pleasant holiday rental."
Owner's Response: Sue & Steve were our first American guests & so we are really pleased they enjoyed their holiday & found everything they needed for a one month stay. As a result of their visit we now offer free wi-fi internet access in the house.

Town house review.

Review Submitted: June 16, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
This review would have been longer but we just have to agree with everything already said. We also found the posted key a big advantage, instead of walking the streets for a few hours. We are recommending Carcassonne and the house to everyone we know...without hesitation.

Even the rain couldn't spoil it !

My viamichelin.com print-out led us straight to this very well furnished house with basic food items (salt, oil, spices, balsamic, pasta etc) left by previous holidaymakers. There is a Depot de Pain and small but well stocked epicerie within 100 metres open late saturday afternoon and sunday so none of the usual rental/food problems with Saturday pm arrivals. The house was clean and fresh as were the crockery and utensils. We had rain most days but the English Satelite TV helped relieve the ennui. The Cite and the Corbieres Wine Villages were our own focus and did not disapoint. You can walk from the House up to the Cite in an easy 10 minutes.
I liked very much to be sent a key by post prior to arrival and not after a long journey having to locate a French Caretaker and be subject to a half hour lecture on the plumbing and heating arrangements.
Whilst we are in no way alcoholics perhaps I could suggest visitors invest in a bottle of Gordons or a nice Malt at the airport before you leave U.K. to enhance your evenings on the houses' balcony as they are very expensive bought locally.

A great apartment

We have just got back from staying in Monet apartment and had a really enjoyable time. It was easy to find, thanks to all the directions we received before we left home. Parking was easy and free! The position was amazing and we couldn't stop looking at the views of the Cite, especially at night when it was lit up Within 5 minutes you were within the Cite walls and a 10 minute walk in the other direction you were by the Canal du Midi.
The apartment was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed.
We hope to return and use it as a base to explore the surrounding areas.

The Monet apartment in Carcassonne was lovely. The location was great, firstly for the memorable view of the old city from the windows and because it was an ideal base in which to explore Carcassone and further afield in this interesting area of France. The apartment has been finished to a high standard and was very comfortable.

Surreal View

The view of the Cite from the living room and bedroom window was wonderful - almost within arms length. At night when the ramparts were lit against the black sky the view was surreal. Lovely apartment well appointed. Comfy beds. Warm. Close to small shops and about 10 mins walk to the main square. Owner very helpful. Can definitely recommend. Lots of places to visit around if you have a car or train pass.

We stayed in Sept 08 and really enjoyed ourselves. The apartment was comfortable and it was lovely to lay in bed and see the walls of the old city lit at night. It was just 10 mins from the old city and 10 mins from the new. A perfect location. It was a warm and friendly greeting on arrival too. Thank you!

This apartment has been renovated to a very high spec & the facilites are excellent. The description of location is exact and the apt is perfectly situated to allow for access to all amenities. The basics were provided so that immediate shopping was not necessary and the owners could not be more attentive. There are a variety of good restaurants in the area with food to suit all tastes. Everything is within easy walking distance. There is an excellent train service if one is not driving I would & have recommended this apt to friends - a most enjoyable place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautifully furnished and fabulously equipped apartment. The kitchen was a pleasure to use with high quality appliances. It was great to have a dishwasher and I loved having fresh filter coffee in the morning with freshly baked croissants from the bakery around the corner. The owners and Inga were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone. We would love to stay again, possibly in the Summer when we could get maximum use of the wonderful roof terrace. Carcassonne is a great place and makes a good base for exploring this beautiful part of France.
