Always a treat!!!

As always, a return to Anchorage never disappoints! The house is the greatest compliment to a relaxing holiday - mornings on Sandy Lane beach, lunch at Anchorage followed by a dip in the pool - perfect!! We again visited with three children under six as well as six adults, and the house still felt spacious, and Ernesta and Geoffrey looked after us tremendously well. The children love them!! Cannot wait for the next visit!

Holiday at Anchorage

Review Submitted: September 25, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Just returned from two weeks at Anchorage, and as previously written the pictures do not do this place justice, it’s much better. We were welcomed by Ernesta who had a winning smile and amazing rum punch!! She is a gem and nothing seems to be too much for her. Her pancakes were amazing each morning together with the lightest of omelettes. She certainly won my husband's admiration, her cooking excelled! The house is wonderful and airy with doors that open front and back. The outside eating area is fantastic, looking onto the most amazing grounds which are kept in excellent order by Geoffrey. He was very good at keeping the monkeys away as well!!!! The pool is superb and it makes such a difference to be able to swim in the late evening, as this would not be possible if you stayed at a hotel!! The house and grounds were very clean and well maintained and Ernesta did a wonderful job of clearing up after us and doing all our washing!!! David (the owner) provided the best of customer service and answered all our emails very promptly. I certainly would recommend this property to family and friends etc. The beach on Sandy Lane is one of the best on the island and having the canbana with fridge made picnics a joy! The toilets at the club were very clean also. We also enjoyed eating out at the many excellent restaurants nearby, namely The Tides, Daphnes, Sandy Lane Hotel, Lone Star and Mullins Beach Bar. All in all I would highly recommend the villa, the staff, the owner and mostly Barbados!!!!!

What a fantastic villa

If you want to stay in a fantastic villa with fantastic facilities in a great location then this is the place.
The photographs on the web site do not do it justice. Ernesta and Geoffrey provide everything you could possibly need and the island does the rest to make it a hoiday to remember.
Anchorage is highly recommended.

Our First Visit - hopefully not our last!

Review Submitted: March 19, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We have just returned from a heavenly week at Anchorage. The villa and grounds are even more wonderful than the pictures convey, if that's possible. We visit Barbados every year and have previously stayed in hotels on the West Coast, however now we have visited Anchorage, hotels will be a thing of the past. The villa and grounds are meticulously maintained by Ernesta and Geoffrey, who really went out of their way to make our stay as relaxing as possible. Even the family of monkeys who visited us each morning looking for bananas were friendly and kept us entertained with their antics. The location is fantastic with a lovely 5 minute stroll to Sandy Lane beach and a slightly longer stroll to the shops of Holetown. We didn't hire a car for the week as the west coast restaurants are all within a 10 minute taxi ride. All in all it was a fantastic stay and I do hope we are lucky enough to stay here again.

First stay at Anchorage

nem Lancashire, UK
Review Submitted: January 18, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2008
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Anchorage .Barbados is of course a wonderful place but our stay this time was enhanced by the accommodation that your home provides. The living area is so spacious and comfortable that as six adults we found we could relax and unwind from the moment we set foot in the place. The gardens and pool are lovely and a credit to Geoffrey.Ernesta looked after us really well and the dinner she cooked for us was one of the highlights of our stay. Her pride in Anchorage is so very obvious and it shows in the care she takes to ensure guests enjoy all the house has to offer.None of us were ready to leave ! From the practical point of view I must say I appreciated the way you dealt promptly with our booking ,questions, car hire recommendation etc which made the whole process very easy . Thanks also for your help in getting a first class table at the Cliff !

It you are looking for a perfect holiday, look no further. Anchorage seemed too good to be true but in fact exceeded all our expectations. The location is perfect and having Ernesta as the housekeeper/cook was definitely a bonus. We had an amazing holiday. We must thank David & Vicky for their help and recommendations for a fantastic holiday. We would absolutely recommend Anchorage to anyone interested in visiting Barbados!

wonderful family week in paradise

Review Submitted: November 4, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
we have just returned from a super week in "The Anchorage" EVERYTHING you see and read about this property is absolutely true - the villa is spacious and very comfortable - Ernesta is very attentive and very obliging - we were recommended her chicken curry and I would endorse that along with the rum punch!! we had our 4 children with us ages ranging from 15 to 6 - I would recommend hiring a small car for getting to the beach and to the supermarket. The one thing that did surprise me was the cost of food - be prepared...!! we did manage to go to the Cliff restaurant and the owner got us a superb table - again I would recommend that. We spent a lot of time of the beach - remember to bring drinks to fill up the fridge in the cabana - in fact it would be worthwhile bringing a picnic there and sit in the shade for lunch. Our children did lots of water skiing and mastered mono skiing by the end of the week - its a great family holiday and the property was in excellent condition and very clean. Enjoy!!

Review Submitted: October 21, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
We had a wonderful time at Anchorage. The villa and the grounds were fantastic and to be honest I don't think the
pictures do it justice. Ernesta was great too and made some lovely meals as well as clearing up after the kids everyday !

The pool was perfect and was just about all the kids needed, they loved waiting for the monkees to visit in a morning and generally had a great time

The beach was lovely too and much cleaner and better kept than the others along the same coast

We are hoping to return again soon

Review Submitted: September 30, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
I have just returned after my fifth visit to Anchorage, with three friends, and it was, as before, just marvellous. Ernesta and Jeffrey on hand to make the party as welcome and comfortable as possible. On our second night Ernesta cooked a magnificent dinner for 17 and all were delighted.

The gardens were lush and colourful and it is still a great treat to relax on the terrace overlooking the pool, and having the use of the cabana at Sandy Lane is invaluable.

Go! and .enjoy

5th Stay at Anchorage

Stueyd Cannes, France
Review Submitted: September 29, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
This is now my 5th time staying at Anchorage and it gets better and better every time. Took the house for 2 weeks and friends and family came out to see us for the first time. They also fell in love with the house and how easy it was to get to the local amenities so they will be back. The beach was wonderful as usual and Ernesta did us a brilliant party, the food was to die for and Jeffery was a star. I cant wait to go back and chill out by the pool in the beautifully kept gardens and to be looked after by the brilliant Ernesta. Thank you once again for letting us have the house at very short notice, it was a real treat as always and I will book my next trip to Anchorage within the next few weeks. Thanks again. Stuart
