Villa Review

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Villa Florence in Kalkan. The villa was everything we hoped for, and more. We were more than comfortable and I in particular enjoyed your 'wee oasis' of a garden. The villa was in a good location, with the supermarkets and banks 5 minutes down the hill. The walk up the hill after dinner helped work off our indulgences and we didn't find it too bad. Our young adult daughters enjoyed trying out the many excellent restaurants along with us. Our dining experiences just seemed to get better as the holiday went on. We also enjoyed a few BBQ's at the villa and found this to be inexpensive.

Our thanks also to Sedat and his team who looked after us very well and our holiday went without a hitch! We hope to return to Kalkan next year.

Thank you for sharing your home in Turkey with us.

We stayed at Villa Florence for a week as part of a longer holiday in the Lycian Coast area and would have been happy to stay much longer.

Villa Florence is stylish, spacious, comfortable and very conveniently laid out; the pool is large and the outside space is delightful. The description of the villa and its amenities is accurate and everything is in good working order and well maintained.

The whole booking process was very straightforward with excellent communication by the Owner throughout, including the return of our security deposit. It was also very reassuring to have communication with the local managers during the booking process.

The local management of the villa is excellent and unobtrusive. Everything was ready and immaculate for our arrival and a minor problem was resolved with impressive speed and efficiency. It was great to walk out in the mornings to find that the terrace and pool had been cleaned, tidied and all leaves removed.

We enjoyed Kalkan which is a low-key small town with its old streets tumbling down to the sea; picturesque, particularly at night, and very well-provided with good retaurants with great views. The villa is well located a short distance from the centre, an easy walk downhill and, if you can't face the uphill walk back, a cheap taxi or the bus. We had rented a car as we were travelling but there are some fantastic scenic drives in the area along good coastal roads and up in the mountains and as well as fascinating places to visit, so we would suggest a car for at least a day or two.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Villa Florence and would have no hesitation in highly recommending the house and the area to anyone visiting this rewarding part of Turkey, so much of which is still unspoilt.

Just back from our holiday at this fantastic villa. We were very impressed with the standard of the villa which was both well equipped and very spacious. The villa was well maintained and the pool area was beautiful. Both the owner and the property managers in Kalkan were extremely helpful. We have been to Kalkan several times and it is still lovely, we just hope it doesnt change. For an excellent day out we would thoroughly recomment a day trip on the Pina X boat from the harbour. Would definitely stay at Villa FLorence again !!

Holiday at Villa Florence

Rented the villa for a week in July and can honestly say that it was one of the best properties we have stayed in. The villa is spacious and well equipped and just a short walk into town.
The pool and garden were lovely and not overlooked. Great for a peaceful, relaxing holiday.
There are some fantastic restuarants in Kalkan and the people are very friendly.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the villa to anyone.

Villa Florence, July 2009

July 2009 we returned to Kalkan after 4 years and were relieved to find it was still as charming and beautiful as ever. Villa Florence is located at the top of the main Kalkan road, which is very steep but helps to walk off those calories after some superb meals. If you can't manage it, Taxi's up the hill from the town were approx £3.00.

Villa Florence is just as described; clean, well equipped with a lovely pool and surrounding planting. Our only criticism would be the noise from the road but we quickly tuned out as we unwound.

We had a fabulous fortnight and we couldn't recommend the villa more. Enjoy!

A lovely villa with little extras which show that this is also used as a home. One of the best pools I have ever used and I have stayed in many villas throughout the Mediterranean. Kalkan is a town with which you will easily fall in love. All of the people were extremely friendly and the restaurants all offered a very high standard of food and service, plus the views from the many roof terraces were breathtaking. A villa and an area to cherish. One of the best holidays that our family have had. Many thanks for all assistance and information given to us at the time of booking up to the time of our arrival.

Villa Florence in Kalkan in the Spring

TerryH London
Review Submitted: June 16, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
This was our second visit to Kalkan and our first to Villa Florence, choosing to visit in the spring this time, hoping to enjoy some early sunshine. We were not disappointed, the weather was excellent and most days were sunny with the temperature averaging about 25+ DegC. The villa was very clean and well furnished and equipped. We even managed to get into the pool most days, although the water was still a bit chilly.
Kalkan was just coming to life with many of the restaurants already open and the food and service was excellent. We also managed to do some diving but only from the shore since the dive boats seem not to be put into the water until May. Our only negative comment would be that the beds were made with sheets and blankets and our preference would always be to have duvets on all beds. Otherwise, an excellent holiday and we would certainly recommend Villa Florence and Kalkan to our friends.

We enjoyed our stay so much in your villa. It was homey and comfortable with lots of little touches that made a difference for a family staying away from home. The pool was terrific, Sedat was very helpful, the villa very spacious and everything we needed was right there. We loved having the cd collection available as well as internet connection. Fantastic home away from home.

We have just returned from the Villa Florence and we all enjoyed the villa and pool. It was fully equipped with everything needed for us. We were a family of 6 adults and 2 children. One was a baby of 6 months and a child of 2. The villa comes equipped with toys and the owners supplied 2 cots.
The villa was clean and well cared for. The trees and shrubs have grown since the photo's were taken.

We loved the area and Patara was a great hit with everyone as the beach there was perfect. We travelled by dolmus and the bus station was very handy for this. We also went to Kas by dolmus.
We found Kalkan to be very nice and the locals very welcoming. This is the first time we had been to Turkey and we all would return. We flew to Antayla, but although the journey was spectacular, we found it too far, 3 and1/2 hours. So do use Dalaman airport instead.

We would like to say what a fantastic time we had at Villa Florence and it is easy to see why you have picked such a lovely place as Kalkan. Both the villa and the resort exceeded our expectations and by the time our last day came around we were all really sorry to be leaving after only a week. We have been looking at all of the photographs we took and enjoying the memories of jumping the waves at Patara, exploring the Lycian ruins, taking a boat trip with Captain Abdi (thanks for the recommendation, he was excellent) and of the tasty meals we ate whilst taking in the glorious views of the bay and marina.

We had a great week and we would certainly recommend Turkey and especially Kalkan. We have lots of places on our list that we hope to visit in the years to come but I am sure we will return to Kalkan as it made such a big impression on us all.
