AMAZING HOLIDAY !

Review Submitted: August 23, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
Goose Nest House is one the most immaculate, spacious, beautifully designed, tastefully furnished and well equiped holiday homes we have ever stayed in.

The setting is perfect, the facilties (indoor and outdoor pools, play area, tennis courts, shop, spa) excellent and the whole estate a total escape from the hurly burly of the real world.

An idyllic place for a break for all ages.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Go and discover it for yourselves !!

A relaxing group break in amazing surroundings

Review Submitted: November 16, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
We stayed with a group of 8 at Goosenest for a long weekend in November 2009.

The aspect of the main window with its view over the lake is just stunning. You could easily not leave the house and not get bored. The house is well positioned so that you are entirely private from the other accommodation. You can just sit on the balcony or in the lounge and just watch the wildlife going by.

Often in self catering accommodation it very easy for the party to be split between the living and dining spaces. But the open plan aspect of the house meant that we were able to live as a group.

The house was a well equipped home from home lacking no detail. We were comfortably able to self cater for our group. The bedrooms were of hotel quality and the combination of fresh air and comfortable beds meant that everyone slept well.

Paul and Madeleine (the owners) have thoughtfully left the house well stocked with board games, DVDs and a game cube, so that in the unlikely event that you are bored of the view, the rainy hours have something to fill them in.

The estate itself is clean and well looked after and felt like a completely secure environment. We went to spa once – and this lived up to the high standards of the rest of the estate.

Over all we would recommend this to anyone looking for a hassle free time away from it all – suitable for children and adults.

Sadly our stay here was too short, only two nights, but from the minute we arrived we fell in love with the place. It is beautifully decorated throughout but manages to feel homely at the same time, the kitchen was superbly equipped and the view from the sitting room is amazing. Everything was exactly as described and beautifully clean and well cared for, it was a real treat to stay here and the spa treatments were fantastic and very reasonably priced. Great play area/trampoline for our toddlers but at the same time a really tranquil feel to the whole place. Highly recommended for families, young professionals or a romantic break

I visited Goosenest with 2 other female friends and between us we had 6 children. I had no idea what to expect as it was booked by a friend, but I was absolutely blown away. The location is stunning, the house divine and the spa blissful! Everything we needed was there and with 6 children that is no mean feat. At no point did we feel cramped, and this was despite the weather not being the best while we were there. The balcony is perfect as it is toddler safe and undercover so a great placed to put the kids!
I had first pick on bedrooms and went for the top room. It had a gorgeously comfy big bed, a great en suite and room for a travel cot. To be fair though decor is immaculate throughout the whole house and I would have happily had any of the rooms. The downstairs rooms open straight onto the lake which is a beutiful sight to wake up to in the morning.
The kids loved the park and the trampoline in the grounds, as well as all of the animals they spotted. I loved the spa great treatments and believe me I have tried a few!) and sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine drinking in the view while the kids slept! Cotswold Wildlife Park is a fab day out and is very near by. It has a huge variety of animals from birds to cows to rhinos. My 2 year old was in his element charging around.
I would thoroughly recommend this place to others and would love to go back one day. I may even take my husband!

Didn't want to come home

Review Submitted: November 3, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
There were 7 adults and 3 children in our party and at no point did it feel cramped. More than enough room for everyone and perfectly equipped for adults and children alike. I doubt you could think of anything else you could need that wasn't provided. The house was immaculate and the views were stunning, as beautiful as the pictures make it look, it is even more stunning when you're there.

The owners couldn't do enough for us in terms of booking and making our stay completely stress free. They have though of everything and if anyone can find something they haven't thought of, I'm pretty sure it'll be done!

The shop on site was lovely with a good mix of things you could want.

The spa was amazing, the therapists were all very helpful and the treatments were fantastic, the spa was very clean and the pools were lovely and great having the steam room and sauna in the pool area, i can't fault anything at all.

There are nearby pubs and shops, driving distance rather than a short walk but being cut off from the outside world even with everything a few minutes drive away is a bit like living in a bubble for a few days, something we all need from time to time!

For a good day out, visit the Wildlife Park, much better than any wildlife park or zoo i've ever been to before.

As with the other reviews, i cannot recommend Goose Nest enough, it is worth every penny and i wouldn't hesitate in going back there time and time again.

What a great experience!

Myself and seven others were looking for a place in the Cotswolds to celebrate our 30th's! We wanted a place where no one ended up with a small box room. Here at Goose Nest all the rooms are fabulous! You will not be disappointed. Beautiful views, modern living and plenty of equipment to see you through your stay - there are even binoculars to see all the wildlife on the lakes! We loved the log fire, the house was always a lovely temperature but we 'had' to light the fire for effect! You will not be disappointed by this stunning property. The owners are very kind and helpful too. We would love to return one day.
Thank you for a wonderful opportunity!

A great weekend away from it all

Review Submitted: October 27, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
Everything listed about this property is accurate. It is a fantastically well equipped house, in a great setting.

The view is spectacular and free access to the artspa is a great bonus.

It is the perfect weekend away from it all to indulge in local pub food, country walks, and outdoor activites.

There is lots of helpful information supplied along with the property and Madeleine is very helpful, courteous and effecient to deal with.

The only thing to note, is that it is harder to get about in the evenings...it is a taxi ride to get out and about, should you want too. You are out in the sticks on country roads, and they aren't great to walk on in the dark...unless you are very brave or fully kitted out with a torch and high vis jacket...

I don't want to recommend it too highly or we might struggle to get it booked again!

Owner's Response: The Lower Mill Estate is a get away from it all location - which means that it is peaceful and quiet and set within a nature reserve. So, whilst it is definitely not the place for clubbers, it is definitely the place for a clam, relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting with the added bonus of the spa.

The local pub is a 15 minute walk away and is friendly and serves lunch and dinner everyday but this is not city living and you do need a torch (supplied!) to walk back.

Staying at Goose Nest House

Ain Moor Derbyshire
Review Submitted: October 20, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
From the time I booked this break the owners were very helpful, friendly and efficient and the house definitely has the WOW factor !!

Goose Nest had everything we could wish for to get that home from home comfort we were looking for.I love to walk into a place and you can see how clean and well kept it is. Every little detail allowed your holiday to run smoothly, leaving us to enjoy, the house, the views, the tranquility, the walks, the tennis couts, and the spa (Indoor and outdoor pools). It made a fantastic base from which to discover the Cotswolds...... if you can peel yourself away from the house and estate.

Have and will be recommending to friends and family and looking forward to a return visit sometime soon.

This was the first time we had rented a property in this country and we were not dissapointed. Goose nest is situated on the most beautiful of estates and was an excellent home from home for the week.

There was nine in our party but at no time did we feel cramped. The house is beautifully furnished and the owners have thought of everything required for the family, the usally packing of the car with everything including the kitchen sink was not necessary.

The estate had a friendly and welcoming feeling with excellent facilities form the tennis courts, shop to the wonderfull spa and pool complex.

We would recommend Goose nest to anyone looking for a relaxing break with more than a touch of luxury!
