Wonderful La Petite Maison!

Meridethh Fullerton, CA USA
Review Submitted: June 3, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
My husband and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary while staying in this romantic little cottage! It was heaven. The house is so pretty and well maintained that many people stopped and took pictures as they walked by. The town is beautiful, with lots to see and the people friendly. There are many places to visit near by, so it is the perfect base to tour the Dordogne area. The owners made us feel so welcome, and their local representatives were great!

We highly recommend La Petite Maison to anyone who wants a clean, well maintained, beautiful place to stay in the Dordogne area.

Fabulous Vacation Spot!!!

Kind Traveler Provo, USA
Review Submitted: September 16, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We are from America, and didn't know what to expect being in the heart of the country in southwest France. Our experience at this "cottage" was the best ever. It has every modern convenience you would want - better internet than in the states. The town of Beynac is so charming and has so much to offer. Other villages around are just as charming and market days are fabulous. Canoeing down the river with castles on either side was breath taking. I would recommend this house to anyone - couples old or young, families, friends. Our family can't wait to go back!!

A home from home

Review Submitted: August 26, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We have rented other holiday cottages before, but I don't think we ever felt more welcome or more at home than at 'La Petite Maison'. Any question we had was answered in a very detailed description we received in advance of our travel from the owners, containing information on the house, location etc., but also useful tips on sightseeing tips, favourite restaurants, best bakeries etc. On our arrival we were even welcomed with a little basket containing fresh bread, milk, fruit etc.. The house itself is in a wonderful location and in close driving distance to many of the famous sights in the area (Rocamadour, the cave paintings at Lascaux, and many others). If I had to pick one thing I missed, it was a garden, but since the Dordogne with wonderful clear water runs past just outside the village, there is no shortage of areas to picnic or relax.
We stayed at the house with our little son and we all loved everything about it. One day, when I unlocked the front door and a passer-by asked me the way to the car park, I only wished I could have spoken perfect French to pretend I was actually living there....

We will keep very fond memories of 'La Petite Maison' and highly recommend it.

Beynac, La Petite Maison

France Family Paris, France
Review Submitted: March 25, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
Our stay in Beynac at La Petite Maison was wonderful! The setting was absolutely perfect amidst the towering castle and the winding Dordogne river.
Our family of 5 found the house to be ideally located, charming, clean, nicely appointed, and very suitable for our needs!
We were here in the later part of February and had the good fortune of warm spring-like weather. The river was too high to canoe on but we spent hours each day hiking around the area. From walking along the small roads next to farms and remote homes, to hiking through forests and along streams, we loved the excursions available straight from our doorstep. We walked from Beynac along the river to tour the castle, Castelnaud.
We ate at the Hotel du Chateau and found the food to be very good and the service to be nothing short of welcoming and friendly.
We are already planning our return and would be delighted to stay here again.

Kirsty & Tom Review

Bob & Molly Melbourne, Australia
Review Submitted: January 11, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
Tom and I loved our week long stay at Petite Maison in December. The cottage had everything we needed to make our stay easy. We love shopping at markets and cooking local produce ourselves, and we found the kitchen had all the equipment we needed to do that.
Other features of the little house that made our stay easy included great heating systems, internet access (it was nice to keep up with the Australian sports results while we were away), and a supply of DVD's that we had not seen.
Beynac is in such a great location. We could get in the car and only 15 minutes away was another beautiful village, garden or castle to explore, and although winter in 'cool' we loved the fact that there were no crowds on either the roads or at the places we visited.
It was just a wondersul holiday - relaxing, fascinating and memorable.

La Petite Maison

Geodr Oakland, CA, USA
Review Submitted: July 22, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Beynac at La Petite Maison. The cottage is a cozy place to stay and is a charming mix of a medieval stone building with all modern conveniences. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms modern, the kitchen well-appointed, and the living and dining areas quite relaxing. The photos of the cottage are very accurate and we found it to be clean and well-maintained. The library of travel books and DVDs are a nice feature. It is so well-appointed you feel like you're at home and forget it's a rental! It The town of Beynac is very picturesque and many quaint shops are just a short walk away from the cottage. The location is quite good as there are many interesting sights nearby that can satisfy a variety of vacationers. We would love to return and highly recommend La Petite Maison!

Memorable Visit to Petite Maison

Review Submitted: June 7, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Petite Maison. We shopped a different market almost every day. We included the following on our day trips: Font de Gaume, Goffrey du Padriac, Jardin d'Eyrignac, Montpazier to the west and as far as St.Cere to the east and had a glorious evening ballon ride.
We enjoyed your porch each evening with fine wine and great regional food. The Dordogne is certainly one of our most memorable visits to France. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy your lovely home.

Charming cottage

Review Submitted: April 1, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2007
My husband and I stayed at this charming cottage last spring and it was so delightful. You could tell the owners had put a lot of thought and effort into making our stay so enjoyable. We loved the fully equipped kitchen and relaxing by the fire in the living room after a full day of walking around the village and walking the short walk up to the castle. There are restaurants, bakeries, and shops very close to the cottage. My husband and I have already decided to go there again in the near future.
