If you wish a perfect week...

The jasmine was blooming, as were the roses, the week in June we just stayed at La Pedra Remença. Each evening we sat on the porch to eat dinner and look across the valley to the hills on the other side, and -- as the night came on -- we talked and laughed and relaxed. Each morning we gathered around that table, too, to listen to the birds in the sun, to eat what we had bought at local markets, and (again) to relax together.
The photographs do not do justice to this beautiful little house that Natalia has made. We four all felt completely comfortable and happy -- both because the house is so lovely but also because Natalia is such a warm and sensitive host. The house is very private (you cannot see any other houses from it); it feels as though you are living in your own peaceful country.
Each day we set out for different adventures: Cadaques, Empuria, Girona, Garrotxa, Santa Pau, the other little towns in La Vall d' En Bas, walks close to the house, and a neat visit to a winery (which Natalia arranged). La Pedra Remença is perfectly located for all of this.
I cannot wait to return.

When we arrived at the property we were greeted by Natalia who was a very attentive host ensuring all of our needs were addressed and she remainied in contact with us throughout our week to ensure this was always the case.
The pictures on the website cannot really give a true reflection of this beautiful property and its breathtaking location. The modern facilities provided make this home all the more special. We were even provided with a BBQ which was a great treat on a balmy evening.
The property location is a hub for visiting many places ranging from the coast, walking through the hills, horse riding, visiting historic sites, museums and shopping. There is so much to do. However, this property draws you back and to lie by the pool after a busy day is the best tonic for anyone to appreciate.
Natalia recommended some fantastic restaurants and we were very impressed with Marangels just outside of Girona which is around 20 mins drive from the holiday home.
I am certainly recommending this property to friends and I'm sure it will be a popular choice all year round.

we stayed at this lovely villa from the 14th to 21st of feb 2009. the hosts were extremely kind people and most helpful. they went out of their way to make sure that you enjoyed a nice break.
the villa itself is very comfortable and cosy. the decor and interiors are simple but very relaxing. the exteriors are simply superb with fantastic views and a lovely garden.
we enjoyed sitting out on the terrace which had the sun shining more or less through out the day...a nice place to relax and have your meals.
the beds were spacious and comfortable. the bathroom has an antique stone sink which is appealing and in keeping with the general theme of the villa.
there are a number of places that you can visit from the place of stay. we were able to go skiing at vallter2000,visit museums,do a bit of quiet shopping,eat at the local restaurants and even take a day trip to barcelona.
all in all, we would whole heartedly recommend this place for a quiet and comfortable holiday with an option to do a variety of activities.

We had a wonderful relaxing week at La Pedra Remenca in St Esteve de LLemena during August. Our host Natalia was very welcoming and made the time to show us some breathtaking views on walks around the local area.
The house itself was lovely- beautifully decorated and lots of amenities. Our private garden had a pool. La Pedra Remenca is the place to go to enjoy peace and tranquility, to unwind from the stresses of life and to explore the Garrotxa region of Catalunya.

I have recently stayed at this beautiful villa and can certainly recommend it. The design, furnishings, garden, pool and view all lived up to the description and more so. Everything was made of high quality natural materials-copper guttering, oak shutters, antique walnut dining table, old stone basin etc.. The location is wonderful, overlooking thickly forested hills and mountains in the volcanic region yet only one hour away from the rugged coast of northern costa brava. There is lots to see in this area and many good walks. Natalia is lovely and really enjoys introducing quests to what the area has to offer- including a great restaurant nearby-very traditional, no menu but many courses of good local food. A beautiful, peaceful and intesresting place.

Beautiful villa, luxury accomodation in stunning surroundings. Perfect romantic home. Very comfortable. All you could ask for and more. Very welcoming owners. Fantastic views of hills and mountains. Great walks. choose to relax by pool, evening meal on terrace, gaze at stars. We found our own little piece of heaven. Easy directions from Girona. Excellent! We highly recommend this villa.

If you are looking for a place that is easy to find, close to the beautiful cities of Girona, Barcelona and the Pyrenees but yet set in rural surroundings for a tranquil rest away from it all then you have found the right place.
The house owners have that "just right" ability to not intrude on your holiday but at the same time make you feel most welcome and offer help if you need it.
The house is in perfect order and the website pictures do not do justice to the copper guttering and stone bathroom sink amongst all the other first class parts of the building.
The pool was again better than the photos, made in beautiful smooth finishings and just right to swim, play and or relax in/beside.
The view is uninterrupted green mountains, rolling into every distance you look. Sat on the porch, sitting room comfy chairs and or standing in the well equipped kitchen, you can also take in the views and relax back to full strength or be inspired to paint and or take photos.
For shoppers there is an Outlet Village situated on route to Barcelona, this is the main area for UK style shopping that we found the closest.
For artists, hikers, cyclists and historians you can take your pick from the many places surrounding you - the only problem is that you never want to leave the beautiful house in the mountains but that's a nice decision to have to make each day...
PS. The local spanish people were friendly to us Brits!

hello all!
me and my wife rentto this amazing apartment for our honeymoon.
I thoughet the place on photos are beatifuls, but when we got to this apartment we were in shock, its much more amazing than i thoughet.
The green hils, the peacefull view,the pool, the sun beds, the gorges house, the huge beds, new kitchen with all the equipment that we needed, even the garder at the enterence of the apartment was natrual growing local spain flowers was so beatifull.
and above all i would like to thank Natalia (the owners) for the wonderfull treatment and so personal attitude. thank u very much, you make honeymoon dream to be more than we thoughet.
