Great apartment, great location

Review Submitted: September 24, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We didn't quite expect a little cloud and rain at the beginning of our September holiday, but it was a great prompt to go out and see the gorgeous island in our hired Suzuki Jimny - very useful for the unmade up roads that tempt you to the most remote beaches and hilltops. Driving there is very safe and easy - and fun!
The apartment was exactly what we wanted - immaculately clean and well equipped, in a fab location, overlooking the village one way and sea the other.
It couldn't have been a nicer walk in the daytime or evenings down to the seafront and all the tavernas, and the walk back up made you feel you'd at least exercised off some of the great food and wine.
The terrrace was great for relaxing at any time of day in the sun or shade, drinking wine or playing scrabble and backgammon. Our cooking only amounted to scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast, but if you wanted to cook a gourmet meal, the kitchen would be a great place for it!
Bedrooms were light and airy and benefited from mosquito nets behind patio doors that could be opened like windows.
We were lucky enough to be there when the owners were staying in the villa and they, and Carol who helped with housekeeping, couldn't have been more helpful.
We'd all recommend the apartment - with some sadness that we eventually had to leave it to come home!

Owner's Response: Even with the unseasonal September weather Andros has lots to offer if you are prepared to doing a bit of exploring and there are many modes of transport available. Our local knowledge is for sharing as we want you to enjoy your holiday to its best.

Best Family Holiday Yet!

We returned from this apt in July. This is a beautiful, spacious, modern apartment. It has a lovely modern kitchen with all mod cons and a handy breakfast bar if the weather wasn't good (which we never had to use) We ate all meals outside overlooking the bay. The apartment was extremely clean and had towels and clean bedlinen if needed. The washing machine was very handy as 20mins outside on the line and the clothes were dry.
We needed the air conditioning most nights as the weather was hot and it kept the kids cool. It was perfectly layed out and had french doors out of each bedroom. I would recommend this apartment to any familys or couples.
After a short walk down a stunning stone pathway you arrive in Batsi, the smell of fresh bread greeted us every morning. Restaurants, shops, the harbour and the beach were a short walk away. We loved the friendliness of the people and the relaxed atmosphere. The beach in Batsi was lovely and we found "golden sands" which we loved.
Beside the apartment was Villa Rena, they had a pool bar which we went too most days for a swim and a cold draught beer to cool us down. A visit to Costa Koala in the habour is a must for fresh food and drink. A drive to Hora is a must, but take the sea road, not through the mountains.
Comfy beds, clean accommodation, hot shower, outside dining and food and drink in walking distance, what more could you ask for?
We will be back again

Perfect weather ie very hot but very windy so that overall comfortable day and evening. The view of Batsi and sunset from the house is stunning especially after the second G&T.House was very clean and well furnished. Used a car to get about to various beaches but discovered that in Andros and presumably elsewhere in Greece you could use hotel pools provided you bought drinks and/or food from the bar. So a short walk to Rena's(?) pool was an alternative to driving to the beach. Walking into Batsi was also easy but didn't like the walk back uphill in the wind so someone followed usually by car.Plenty of restaurants in Batsi and outlying areas---we tried a different one each night--no disappointments and some excellent (I forget the names!)

Myself and my patner (now husband) stopped here for 2 weeks with some guests in the middle. The apartment is far beyond expectations it has everything you can want including a washer! Nothing has been put in without alot of thought and the kitchen has more utensils than mine at home. It is very pretty well maintained and luxury with a fab view! Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Andros...x

This is probably the best equipped apartment we have stayed in. The location is ideal - a few minutes walk down the steps to the main square in Batsi. The apartment is pretty much brand new and when we arrived spotlessly clean. The keyholders, are a wealth of information and made us feel very welcome on our arrival.

Owner's Response: I believe that the choice of keyholders is crucial. It is very important as a property owner that, in my absence I am respectfully represented and are as knowledgable as I am about the apartment and location. I'm very pleased to hear that this we evident to my client during their holiday.

We had an excellent week in a very well appointed house, despite average weather, until the day of leaving of course. The owners were very helpful in making travelling arrangements, which worked well. It is a beautiful island and not spoilt by tourism. Thank-you,
Owner's Response: As with all our clients we do try to make your travel arrangements as easy as possible. Andros is not on the 'tourist trial' and you have to know how the easiest and most hassle free way to get there.

This is a true great find. I will definately be booking again for next year. The location was ideal and the quality of the apartment was first class, no hidden flaws. Obviously run by someone who cares and wants to provide a quality service for the clients.
