Comfortable, Clean, Good Location

The description on the website is entirely accurate (if too modest) and we were very pleased with the villa. It was very spacious for four people. The villa is cleaned regularly with new bedding and bathroom towels provided. Kitchen facilities are very good with hob, oven, microwave, kettle & toaster provided.
The owners were very helpful and we were given plenty of information about the local area. All the facilities that you would need are within a 5-10 minute walk (eg Beach, Pool, Supermarket, Bars & Restaurants). The pool is part of the Sunset Crest Beach Club (members only) and the owners gave us a membership card which could also be used to get a discount on drinks and food and in a number of local shops.
Public buses can be picked up nearby and run a regular and cheap service - stick to the blue buses rather than the yellow if you are of a nervous disposition!
We would not hesitate to recommend both this villa and Holetown as a place to stay.
Surfside Bar/Restaurant (behind the police station and on the beach) is an excellent place for live sport. Of the numerous restaurants in Holetown we particularly liked the Elbow Room Restaurant where they serve meat and fish that you cook yourself on a very hot stone. If you can make it to the fish fry in Oistins (there is a direct bus from Holetown) on Friday/Saturday evening this is also highly recommended.

We were able to arrange transport to the villa via Tricia which was there when we arrived. Tricia was also at the villa upon our arrival. The shops and beaches were all a short walk away. The Villa was very clean and great value for money, in fact it looks much better in real life than in the photos! The villa had all the essentials required. It was also a blessing that air con was in the living room and bedrooms,as the tempertaure was 31 degrees when we arrived!. We greatly enjoyed our first time in Barbados. We would certainly recommend the villa to people wanting to stay in the popular area of St.James within easy acces to the beautiful white beaches..

After reading the reviews which have already been expressed by other guests of this villa I can only agree with all the positive reviews, I do believe I can offer some more information which may help any traveller who likes to travel on your own like me!
I wanted a villa which was in the hub of one of the most prestigious parishes of Barbados which this Villa most certainly is, I wanted a villa which offered all the comforts of a home but with the feeling that you had something special, which this villa does, whether its the positioning of the villa itself or the welcome you get from the landlords I cannot fault this villa or its management in anyway.
I am a beach worshipper which meant I was instantly on the look out for a local beach with breathtaking views, within a 5 minute walk from this villa you can arrive at the beach which resides outside the prestigious Sandy Lane Hotel, it offers peace and tranquility with the added bonus of the odd celebrity or two!! There are other wonderful beaches all within a 10 min journey, whether you travel up or down the coast! What I loved the most about my days was the ability to leave the beach when I wanted the comfort of the villa only to find myself sunbathing on the well furnished decking area privately positioned directly outside the villa, either reading a book or listening to music - you do not get this type of privacy in a hotel, it was wonderful!
Shops are within a few minutes, every morning I would have a freshly made coffee and read the paper or grab breakfast, all of which is very reasonable in price!
As an independant traveller I wanted to be safe which is one thing all travellers want, the area is very well lit aswell as being manned by local security guards and police - I would recommend the safety of this area to all travellers alike.
The managment of the villa is very well communicated supported by an excellent cleaning regime. There is helpful local and Island information readily available from the landlords with useful numbers provided. Any questions I did have were easily answered and help always offered.
I would not hesitate in recommending this villa and am planning my next trip already!!

Excellent location, decor and facilities. Web description entirely. Clean, well-maintained and comes with access to a great pool at the Beach House (bar/restaurant) five minutes away, which I recommend for swimming, food and relaxing.
Everything from booking to departure went smoothly. Tricia was very friendly and efficient. If you want a quiet break in Barbados with no worries, then this is the place to stay.

Alcouti Villa

On our arrival, we were met by Tricia who, as well as showing us around the villa, took us on a local tour of the shops and restaurants.
The villa was spotlessly clean throughout and was thoroughly cleaned and bed linen, etc changed 3 more times during our 10 day stay.
As others have said, if anything, the description of the property was understated, but specifically, having separately controlled air-con (as well as television) in each of the 3 rooms was particularly noteworthy.
As an unexpected bonus we had a visit one morning by a family of green monkeys on the veranda as we were having breakfast. They were happy to pose for photos! It should be noted, however, that they can bite and should not be hand-fed, although they will eat bananas put down for them.
Of the local restaurants, the Red Parrot, uphill from the villa, provided good quality, reasonably priced food. Mark the waiter recommended the bread and butter pudding and we would agree!
Thanks to Tricia, we would thoroughly recommend this villa if you want to do a reasonably priced self-catering holiday in Barbados.

Thank you Tricia for a great stay in your lovely villa. There were some good surprises since you are very modest on your website. The three principal rooms are independently air conditioned and with up-to-date flat screen TVs in each. Another unexpected bonus was the cleaning lady who turned up twice a week to change the bedding and clean up. We recommend this for its comfort and peaceful location and very handy restaurants and shops.

Very often you see a very nice place on the internet, only to get there and your dreams are shattered. This place is every bit as good as it looked on the internet.
The owner was there to meet us, this might seem like a small thing. There was 3 other parties that were moveing in near by, one couple waited 3 hours, one wait 4 hours, another couldn't find where to check in,
There is free air conditioning in every room, you do not have to put coins in every night like many other places. Free wirleless internet, This was an amzing place, convient to everything. We will be returning.

A dream vacation

The property was clean,well maintained and ideally situated being only a short five minute walk from a a sandy West coast beach. Other amenities close by include a coffee shop,swimming pool and and within a ten minute walk is Holetown where there are several bars/restaurants .
Tricia who owns the property was helpful,friendly and was only a phone call away if any information was required. During our two week stay the property was cleaned and bed linen changed on a number of occasions. I would highly reccommend the villa to any visitor to the island.
